Sounds wonderful. So true about some gained up amps and not being able to tell the whether you have a Les Paul or a Tele. Takes so much of the fun out of it. Great demo!
Fantastic review - the amp sounds amazing and John, your playing was fabulous and really gave a great overview of what the Black Cat is capable of. They seem to have hit it out of the park with this new range - difficult to choose a favourite ... I guess it's down to what range of styles you need. Thanks again John and the PG team!
3-4 weeks ago, I saw you play acoustic guitar, hold on, hold on, it's like chalk and cheese, the 2 levels.......... ................................................AMAZING!!..☮☮🤘🏼🤘🏼✍🏼✍🏼🎸🎸
Sounds great, but almost all 2 channel amps have the problem where the dirt comes on too much, too fast. I’d like to see this with a cleaner dirt channel and a foot switchable boost that just kicks in more dirt without adding loads of treble.
I have personal experience with older bad cats and plenty of experience with these new ones, and there is a lot of headroom and volume on all of them. the black cat's ~20 watts go a LONG way with the V30-type speakers they come with. the bad cats of old actually were technically A/AB just like many other amps that are marketed as "Class A".. the new ceo/engineer and marketing team made a conscious effort to keep it honest going forward.
NOT a hand wired amp. Great sounding amp just the same. John coaxed some niiiice illustrative tasty riffs on both singles and humbuckers. Gunsmoke was reported in the same area where John was situated. Lol 😝
this line is not hand-wired, it's hand-built. they still sound better than their hand-wired predecessors, and they're much sturdier and easier to repair. so that's kind of a pickle, until they raise the bar again with the next fancy models
John is a very talented guitar player. I would call him the master of almost playing a note and having more clickety-clack than musicality in it though.
I wish amplifier companies would show some gut shots for promotion. Would be nice at $2099 to see what’s going on in there. Sounds Great and looks quality, but I want reliability also. Which this amp could perhaps deliver? The local shops don’t like you to remove the chassis before you buy for some reason? 🤷🏼♂️🦖
Amen. That tells me a couple things: lots of people like me love the core tone of a Vox, and I'm guessing some of them find them a bit hard to live with, hence so many amp companies with their own take on that kind of circuit.
@@DMSProduktions I like an amp with Vox DNA that isn't an exact clone. It has to run on el84s, cathode biased, and have no negative feedback. I have a Morgan MVP23 that can get Voxy but also Marshally and Fendery, all without channel switching, boost, or any pedals (except for reverb).
Anyone know the strap this guy is wearing, it’s pretty cool looking . He seems to be wearing it backwards though? Looks really nice, hopefully it’s not backwards cuz I’m not trying to steal his style lol. I haven’t seen a strap like that before though with the metal
Sniffing around this amp, then found this video. Thank you? Your stumbling and searching for knobs during this video was... -wanting someone else who was prepared to review this new Bad Cat amp. Other than that, this was a good(?) review. I assume your other content is good or better than this.
Hahahahahaha! Bad player? John is an amazing guitarist! Maybe you're not happy because he didn't play Hendrix as Hendrix, but as himself? His playing is much better than the generic licks that you play in your videos. Running scales up and down isn't musical at all, regardless of how fast you play. Be nice. Don't be an assh*le that talks sh*t about other guitarists.

Excellent video as ever John. Keep up the good work mate. It is needless to say much appreciated by all of us.

Champagne taste with Blackstar $$$.
Great sounding amp.😎👍

That Hendrix intro was sweet
Great Demo John! I love Bad Cat amps and you are right, the Black Cat is awesome!

I know I'm pretty late in saying but I love that you fixed your room acoustics. The videos sound great!
Beautiful playing man
Please review all of the Bad Cats!

I will add, I have a Dumble clone with the cascading gain stages and it does a great job of giving pushed tones and more gainy sounds.
How would you compare it to the older Class A models they had? That was a strong selling point for their older line up.

Good Playing Man and Tones .
so responsive love it, great playing
Put on that top hat! It was made for your Les Paul 🤘
🤣

That looks like a monstrously heavy combo.
48 lbs
Badcat rules!!!!!!

What will it do for you to see a circuit board with resistors, caps, diodes, etc… are you worried that it’s made poorly?
Wow, the strat sounds so much better than the lespaul with this amp. Awesome John.
Does it have headphone out ?
This is a pro-grade amplifier, not a Line 6!
@@mykalgambullmusic5520 Line 6 are not for pros …
You’re a snob aren’t you
🤣
Nice! :)
Another VOX inspired amp.

Black hat??
Dang, for all that money you’d think they’d “spring” for a real reverb.
I assume you think all "real" reverbs are better than all others? Because to my ears, that hasn't been true.
Nice amp but probably very expensive.
All good gear cost money. My old man always said, “I’m to poor to buy cheap shit”. Words to live by.
$600?
around 2 grand, John mentioned in the demo
@@ToddTheJoker 2 grand-ish is actually reasonable for a high quality amplifier that borders on boutique like a Bad Cat does.

If your going to play Hendrix? Play a Strat please
First!
Welcome OUT of that closet! 🌈
@premierguitarist I'm not on telegram. Any other way?
Oh never mind, you're a scam account.
Oh, and one other thing,... your intro says "new Black Cat by Bad Cat". Please note you have that reversed.
Wow!!! Way Too much wine! Sorry?...
@@martybender123 your brain was in reverse 😂😂
Must be OCD? 😅
@martybender123 - Pretty sad.

What kind of feedback is that (?)
Right? Can you believe someone with such an attitude is a musician? Lol 😝
Great amp played by bad player.

Super excited to hear your playing. Send us a link to your demo.
Still waiting to hear your playing. Post a link.
Only heard the intro so far, but the playing there was solid, very nice.
