As a songwriter, the Black Cat and the Hot Cat do it for me. I believe both of these amps would fill the most boxes in a studio environment. There's clarity, no matter where you the set amp. From clean to aggressive. They both provide usable tones at your fingertips, straight from the guitar's volume knob. So nice!
I've been digging the Badcat/Matchless/Vox edge of breakup tones more and more these days vs the balls to the wall gain of my younger days... But the lynx sounds killer while seeming to be able to do both of those sounds.... Man o man that's on the wish list now 😅 Hell, all of them sound absolutely killer to me.
peter is a really brilliant nerd. he has gained so much experience and background knowledge at such a professional level that he keeps developing great products. and you can clearly see that in the badcat amps he developed.
I've got a Bad Cat Cub40R III Handwired. LOVE LOVE IT! These revised amps sound amazing! I really wish they still had a Reverb option but their prices are realistic in this crazy market. Great vid, thanks. I still want a Hot Cat
Amps sound great, and that's some tasty playing. Thanks for covering all of the various models in such depth. Really nice to hear all of these amps together in one video, as they're still pretty rare to see in my neck of the woods.
Just my little opinion but I think BadCat makes GREAT amps but there is so much product confusion from all the changes and revisions over the years that it takes a degree in BadCat to know what you’re looking at year to year. Gibson and Fender fell into this trap too but seemed to somewhat have returned to a “standard” standard version of models. I think they’d sell a lot more amps if they were still selling original BlackCat and Cub models and called the newer ones a different model because they’re so different.
I feel like the hot cat doesn’t get much love but that amp really has a wide range of gain and all very usable. The clean is absolutely stellar even compared to my lone star clean. And what I have been enjoying too is being able to use my synergy rig with the bad cat power amp. The tones are fantastic even with high gain.
While I think they did well with these new products they have kind of made them nearly all the same feature wise just higher gain and slight tone tweaks. No 4xel84 model, el34s on 3 amps. No ef86. Shared eq on all models (annoying for the higher gain models). Still want a lynx but think for cleans I'll grab the older black cat or cub if I can find them.
@@michaelaugust3626 - ok, if you say so, but that's like saying Sampson's DC-30 was an original design, when in fact, it was his improved take on a Vox AC-30.
Leaving-off the protective corners that the previous models had, putting empty spaces on the Bad Cat faceplate where the classic glowing cat eyes had been, and discontinuing turret board construction (while still charging the prices of that) are hardly great design choices. And still no amp cover included. Thanks, Bad Cat.
Great playing, and great demo; but terrible choice of guitar for this. What percentage of your audience plays a vintage guitar with a non noise canceling P90 in the bridge? Cheers.
Miss Jack’s playing. Like Aaron’s but man Jack is good. Hope to see him somewhere else sometime.
BADCAT RULES!!! I have a new LYNX. Absolutely LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!
me too

Black Cat sounds absolutely fabulous. Great job on revising these amp designs, they all sound great
We love them!

Next-level purple trousers.

Hey! Doesn't the black cat have reverb? Or did they take that off?

That guitar would make any amp sound great. Great sound thru these amps.

Go figure that I believe Jack is marketing Bad Cat now. All-Star.
Glorious tones from these top shelf amps.
I would love to have this amp, but I just bought a Bad Cat Cub last year - which is also a great amp!

It always felt to me that the Lynx sounded similar to the Cameron stuff; now I know why 😁😁
Love cameron, love my Lynx
Best amp I ever heard in my life was the Bad Cat Classic Deluxe. Sadly, not featured here.
The LYNX is my favorite. Hi-gain done right.
Brilliant demo didn't know Jack was colour blind.
Sounds killer, great vid.
That Junior is da real MVP.
You guys really need to a thorough vid of your mic and post processing. Everything always sounds glorious!
Damn hes not there he plat a simple riff and we chill😢
No mention of Mark Sampson? Where Black Cat came from? How the whole concept started in the first place?
Not really....peter redesigned from the ground up.

Love my BadCat BlackCat but it has just been recalled by BadCat for a fault. Anyone heard anything more about what the actual problem is?

The older ones didn't cease to exist. Just keep what you have? I have one, will not be "upgrading".
How was the sound being recorded in this vid? Didnt spot a mic and the sound was fantastic
Hi There! This was recorded with a Two-Notes Captor X

Is that a Gibson with one humbucker? What pickup is that?
A single p90 pickup
What the hell are you wearing Jack?
😂
Red Jacket, burgundy trousers and a peach T-shirt... what's the confusion? 😂
tobey maguitar over here
