- I will teach you to save and reuse your zipper-operated belongings what ever they are.
Purses, Luggage, Zipper Boots, Jackets & more!
Now you don't have to throw away anything you paid good money for.
This will work for Nylon-plastic zippers (plastic)
You can fix others and make some money.
The teeth tends to come off the underlying material and the zipper head may still work but the item won’t function and may feel loose such as knee high boots, ankle boots, backpacks, hoodies.
I will come out with another video on fixing your favorite hoddie.
As a matter of fact it’s already done.
Just click in the Pinned Comments. You’ll see it.
This was amazing. Yours were the only instructions I found to sew the zipper instead of replace it. I've fixed my favourite bag! Thank you!
Shiloh Rose by the way, please share on with your friends.

I first used your instructions to mend a section of similar length on my tent zip. Before this I was fearful the tent would have to be dumped. The door zip 1½ metre in length would be too expensive to replace.
After a camp, August 2024, two more sections of loose teeth (4cm and 16cm) appeared. Try as I might I couldn’t find this clip and why did I do it in white cotton? But it did serve a purpose because it showed the ‘rip’ hadn’t occurred at the original repair. Thankfully I found the title and time length of your tutorial on the 2021 kitchen calendar. Another successful repair achieved. This time I did it in red cotton.
Those out there mending a tent zip, remember to loosen off all guys in the mornings because the heat of the sun causes the tent fabric to be skin tight. This causes undue stress on tent zips when in and out, opening and closing during the day. I also wrote this down but completely forgot about my own findings from 3 years ago.
Many thanks Carlos
@@andrewboxall8460 responses as heartfelt and genuine really makes me feel I have made someone really happy they now learned this stitching method. Now, you can show others who have the same problem and they can appreciate you as well. Thank you!💙
Thank you, you just saved me 3 pieces of clothing. About 360$ saved
The only video I found how to fix that particular problem - this can save quite some of my favourite bags and jackets. Thanks and thumbs up!
Exactly what I was looking for. I want to save my bag. The color is faded but the only functional thing wrong with it is the zipper has come apart like this.
Thank you so much! I thought my beloved boots were done, and thanks to you, I managed to save them! I'm all in favour of repairing and recycling instead of throwing away. You made my day! :-)
Fabienne Tournet you made my day!
And thanks so much!
I’m giving you a “hearted” comment.
I don’t just giv’em away unless I’m really moved. And I really am!
Thank you for sharing Carlos! I just followed along and fixed the zipper on the sleeve of my motorbike jacket :) It saved me from paying the person at the local tailor/dry cleaner and it just feels better when you repair things yourself. Clothes and accessories are meant to be worn and torn! Cheers
This is amazing, I was scouring youtube looking for a video like this but everyone was focused on the zipper tab.

This is like Next Level, eh?😃
Just bought a bag and the zipper became loose on one end. Yours is the only video that shows how to fix it (others only say that it needs to be replaced). Saves me the cost of reshipping to get a refund. Much thanks from The Philippines! 🇵🇭

Thank you for your video. I'll go try your method to repair my windbreaker jacket.
@@ActiveSneakers let me know how it goes.👌🏻
@@M-E-G-A Your method works. I can continue to wear my old fav jacket.
I've been looking for a video like yours for an hour, thank you very much! I have the same problem with an aquaguard zipper on my bag but I realized that the zipper was unstitched only when one of the zips was unhooked from the unstitched edge. So even if I try to fix it your way, I now have a problem with the detached zipper 😅.
NøN try to slide the zipper back on the track before stitching the zipper together.
@@M-E-G-A I tried to do so but I wasn't able to put the zipper back in place because of the water-repellent material used that covers the tooth. I don't even know how the zipper came off in the first place 😅
NøN take a look at these zipper sliders

A million thanks to you sir
I enjoyed your video very much and I think I will use your Technique on a bag I have. I have another problem though and this is what I really would like to know if it's possible to repair the little piece that is inserted into a zipper on my leather coat. It came off So now I'm unable to zip the Coat up Because of that Little Metal Piece that Slips Into The Zipper. Are there any pieces that a person can buy?To repair the missing metal piece. Or a Quick Fix that a person can do? Do You have any Suggestions or Will I have to replace the entire zipper in the coat? Any Insight that You can give me I Would Be Greatly Appreciated. just as a Reply to My Question Thank You Very Much For Your Time
Antonio L I know exactly what you’re talking about. I have jackets with those zippers too and I’ll study it and reply soon.
Hang in there!
I have a solution for you.

What kind of string did you use? I have thin wool strings. Would that work enough if i applied it in a backpack?
Regular spool of thread is fine.
The wool thread may shred over time.
This is perfect! Thanks so much

LOL "yum yum"
Fiftys Lady yess... yum!
could this technique be used for broken teeth on a pant zipper?
Ashley M if it’s the METAL teeth, not really.
This only works for the plastic zipper types on this video.
Nice thank you sir
Nice bags like with Eddie Bauer name on it and you know...Gucci and stuff
hahaha
good work cleaning up coil...I have broken teeth doe
Will it work with one missing teeth? It's for a vest pocket.
For the Nylon zipper teeth, yes it’ll still zip together.
I have the same coil zipper on my backpack, however, I'm missing 3 teeth on one side in the middle, and the slider comes off that side everytime it passes it. Is there a repair for that?
If the bag can open or close half way you could lock-stitch the missing points and still be able to use the bag. That’s my best solution. Check out the link below about the Hoodie fix. That’ll work.
what size of needle and what type/size of thread did you use for fixing the zipper?
f massa the needle is called a: Sharp. Size 7,
I believe. The thread is a common spool for general stitching. I’ll look into it.
Can you replace the puller itself on a backpack?
You can substitute the zipper pull with a fishing Swivel Snap. Get a larger sized swivel that you can grip and pull the zipper up. That should be sufficient.
@@M-E-G-A well the hook on the puller snapped off it got bent outwards and I tried clamping it shut but it broke off
@@douglacy5269 give me some time. I’ll figure something out for you.🤔⏳
@@M-E-G-A thankyou my girlfriend is mad at me for breaking it cause it’s a little miss sunshine bag from her childhood
I have another video for Hoodies.

Thank you for the idea!
Ashikin Rahmad it’s all good!
I did use this idea to repair the zipper for my husband's jacket. And it works!!! Save our money instead of buying a new jacket.

It took me 6 months to break my bag
If you use it regularly it should last longer than 6 months. You must’ve been hurrying a lot.
Exactly what I was looking for. Especially enjoyed the part where you creep on female viewers!
One of my other specialties. 😈
And please do me the benefit of sharing this with friends.
Stupid - I do the same thing with a regular sewing machine.
What if I have no machine, and other people?
And how much are sewing machines?
