  • I figured out a better way to make custom multi point attachment points for the front and rear suspension on the a-arm side and wanted to share with you guys. Also the rear a-arm length was finalized for the rear axles to accommodate up to 25 inches of travel with less than 1/8" of plunge, that is huge. Final alignment of front and rear was a breeze with the aftermarket front a-arms and rear a-arm design. I hope you enjoy as we are one step closer to aggregating the lawn!

    I’m buying a set of your plans but I’m gonna change some things, use SXS spindles etc. front arms on rzr are close. I’m gonna use zx14r motor so I figured it need some strong parts. I’m excited I love the build.

    Flip the a-arms over? They look upside-down, anyway.
    I generally like reducing stiction on my shaft, but a fender washer to support the spring load?

      It has worked for over 50 hours of punishment 🦾😁. But as with everything in these videos, you are completely free to do things how you want to, it is a blank canvas for your mechanical art.

    I just use a piece of rubber hose to protect the shock

    This bear is coming out gorgeous!!!!! You think you can make this street legal? I would love a daily driver looking like this!!!!

    • @KJRaycing
      @KJRaycing  3 года назад

      I looked up some laws on making things street legal. They are pretty straightforward and pretty tough too. Apparently all you need to do is save all of your receipts to show you built and own every piece. But if you made it in 2021, it “needs” to meet federal and state safety standards. Not sure how sierra got theirs street legal but I’m definitely jealous.

    Hello. Fantastic detailed videos and this is by far the best thing on RUclips for amateur beginner builders. I was just wondering if you might know of a plan B in case I can't find second hand Polaris or other ATV suspension arms and hubs for the wheels.
    Regards

    • @KJRaycing
      @KJRaycing  3 года назад

      Thank you very much, I really appreciate that. Arms hubs and spindles can always be found new and second hand. Or you can get really nice race setups if you have the budget for it. I definitely prefer to start with a complete quad to save a little cheddar. Thank you for the comment!

    Got a question. Could you in theory, make the lower shock mount removable from the plate on the a arm by using some nuts welded on the lower part of plate and bolts. This would allow you to design and make different lower mounting points for different tracks and terrain. Would give massive adjustments for dialing in the front and back suspension.

    • @KJRaycing
      @KJRaycing  2 года назад +1

      In theory and in actuality, you could do whatever you dream of. This chassis represents a blank canvas for all of the great ideas all of the creative people in this world are dreaming up. This is just another one of those great ideas that could be applied to anyones creation. Thank you for that 🖖

    What are your target alignment specs? And do you ever get these laser aligned at a shop?

    • @KJRaycing
      @KJRaycing  3 года назад +1

      My target alignment specs are measures straight and looks straight. It can be fine tuned for driving feel once it starts slinging dirt. I do not get them laser aligned; my first one drives great, you can put it wherever you want at the angle you want.

    Is that’s baby tri-z in background? I have four 3 wheelers, Honda’s 250rs and one 350x I love them

      I’ve had that tri-zinger since I was 4 years old. It is always in running condition and still take a ride on it every summer. I see you know the joy of 3 wheelin 😁

    It may just be an optical illusion, but something looks out of level on the bottom of the frame on the front end.

      Wow, good eye. The notcher wasn’t perfectly centered for offset when I did the steering rack support, it is maybe 1/16 off. It doesn’t effect the steering and the skid plate will cover it so I left it.

      I saw it too. To my eyes it looks like the shock lengths doesn't look the same like more tension on one side.

      @@KJRaycing additional to that, what's the minimum size of the rim that the caliper for the disc brake would fit for a standard kart spindle ? Would a 7-8" rim fit?

      @@KJRaycing honestly i love your work and i am inspired to build my own one soon. But i still dont have tools and equipments for bending pipes and notching. Its so expensive here in the philippines. Its also hard for me to find differentials and CV axles to use. So expensive. I wish someday i could find some help in finding those materials. Thank you.

    • @KJRaycing
      @KJRaycing  3 года назад +1

      I honestly don’t think anything smaller than 10” would fit. They are pretty decent size rotors. But it will fit whatever you set the front end up to take.
