Great video! This video made me realized how many of these races Carl Edwards has been involved in these underdog races over the years. as co as it is for these drivers to win, it was frustrating as a fan of Carl's. In hindsight if he won the 2011 Southern 500, he would've won the championship.
I was at that race, Kurt dominated early going over 100 laps on his first set of tyres, after they announced it over the intercom NASCAR was going to inspect them he dropped back and ended up wrecking
The jamie mcmurry win is one memory I’ll never forget. My family would put in $10 a person and draw numbers 1-however many people were playing. The number you got was the position car you bet on. It was my first time playing and of course I drew J mcmurry. I remember people laughing bc he was a fill in for sterling marlin that race. Winning the pot of money was nice I’m sure but the memories of that era of nascar were priceless.
Zayerbayer I think the difference between Truex and Blaney is that Truex just suddenly started showing that his team was competitive. Blaney gradually helped to bring the Wood Bros back to competitiveness over a couple of years. It's all in time.
MrKyleBusch1 Ron buschard (hope I spelled that right) at talladega, can't remember the year. Paul menard at Indy 2011. Alan Kulwiki 1992 championship if that counts as a win. If you’re in top equipment, I don’t think so since you’re suppose to put a performance immediately making you a threat for top 10s. Underdogs are really those guys who don’t have the equipment like these drivers and show off.
That win by harvick in 2001 at Atlanta was so emotional for all involved.

Hard to believe that in 2011, Furniture Row Racing winning was the upset of upsets.
Harder to believe that Furniture Row Racing is gone.
even harder to believe that they won a championship

Or the daytona 500.

You know it's a weird race when you can take any of the front 6 drivers, put them in the lead, and it'd still be considered an underdog win.
I was at that race, Kurt dominated early going over 100 laps on his first set of tyres, after they announced it over the intercom NASCAR was going to inspect them he dropped back and ended up wrecking
Man, haven't heard those "swarm of bees" Busch Grand National V6s in a long time.
The old Goody's Dash cars with the 4 cylinder engines are also very wasp like.
Bob Keselowski won this race
I got this reference 😂
That's Brad's dad, by the way, making the Keselowskis a Father/Son winning pair in NASCAR.

What? He isnt an underdog.

1:51 is such a great call from the booth. Love the racing, but love the call just as much
It’s kind of funny how the first three cup series clips all include Edwards being close but losing
Man, the NBC broadcast team is the least enthusiastic group of announcers I’ve heard in any sport.
Nice video. Going to the pocono race today and I'm gonna make a video of my trip. Hopefully an upset can happen

Bob Keselowski? Never heard that name before. I just did some research, and I figured he must be Brad Keselowski's dad, and I was right.
Remember, he was the idiot that said Carl Edwards was "not gonna kill my boy" when they were feuding...
I actually know and used to work for a guy that was on Bob K's winning team!
Sex ED Arena Wait,I thought Brian Keselowski was his dad.
That Coca Cola 600 where Casey Mears got his first win---the entire Top 5 was a Cinderella.
I remember when Dodge was in NASCAR
Who's here after the Talladega truck race?
I love how when Carl edwards hits the catch fence, Darrell Waltrip is having flashbacks to 1987
Still bothers me to this day that Brian freakin' Vickers got a win in the 55 car and Mark Martin didn't!
I just love how dw says "20 years old"
Looks like you've got another to add with today's win haha
The talladega race should have been called way before regan won it was just about pitch dark and no lights Kinda silly for nascar
Unpopular opinion. Regan Smith could have been a week to week contender for wins and a championship contender if he got a chance in a good team
As much as I like Bowman, I really wish Smith got the 88 ride.
Add somewhere Michael Mcdowell in the Daytona 500
It's weird to think Brad was once an underdog
The reason was because of one man... James Finch.
Brad from the 09 race was an underdog, but man, it aged badly lol
Is it just me or do 75% of the videos involve Carl Edwards??
Get misty eyed seeing Casey Mears and Bob Keslowski do that
Eh Casey Mears not so much. Best equipment in nascar and needed strategy to win a single race.

Blaney an underdog?? He's been consistent this whole year and in parts of last year.
Matthew D'Ercole But if you think about it, so was Truex in 2015 and that win from Pocono is considered an Underdog win
Zayerbayer I think the difference between Truex and Blaney is that Truex just suddenly started showing that his team was competitive. Blaney gradually helped to bring the Wood Bros back to competitiveness over a couple of years. It's all in time.
