Justin & family, I being an Original 1970s Mother Earther, have waited a LOT of years to see this kind of event! Back then we were " smiled upon", as being well intentioned, but not relevant to how the world was unfolding. And now it appears the shoe is on the other foot. We held tight and live on our 350 acre working farm. It has brought us through the past two years in safety and abundance.
I'm happy and relieved to hear that you are healing Justin. Keep drinking that bone broth! God bless you for bringing this Homesteading message to so many! I am the youngest working our farm. We are doing well and grateful to keep healthy. From time to time I offer workshops to my neighbors who want to learn how to have an organic garden, small farm and live a rural country lifestyle. Classes are on site, outside, until our numbers improve in New Hampshire. May those who attended the conference, spread the word, far and wide!~ Diane

Awe me too Jill-e. I am 67 and feel the same. We were from a different generation, but we felt it but didn't know how to approach it. Time and ideas change and just like you I at least live a bit vicariously through the videos and also do a bit on my little home.

I’m finally able to afford my homestead and I’m excited even at my late age of 55. I was raised on an Ohio farm as a young child and then on a small farm in California. So now it’s my turn to put use what I’ve learned from many homesteaders. I love to grow my own food, can my foods, and see the bounty as I teach others in m6 church to learn the “how to” of growing and canning your own food. Such a wonderful channel and I love y’all ✝️💕🇺🇸

My husband and I have a farm my Dad deeded to me, but we can't stop working right now to do anything substantial. He and I are in our middle 50's as well. We think about all the what ifs. What if one of us gets sick and the other can't handle it..etc. I would love to quit my job and homestead full time. We are going to take it slow and keep up our garden and get some chickens in the spring to see where it goes. 😊. Good luck in your exciting new journey!

About speaking without getting a case of nerves... REMEMBER... you are not saying anything you would not say to each and every person in your audience face to face... this way, you get them all out of the way at once! For your line of sight, find people you know to look directly at and focus on... scatter them across the room so you can keep your eyes roving... I use Power Point a LOT.. and I will do a fine set of notes to follow as I'm showing with PP... usually about 6 pages of notes... and when I get done, I look down and find I'm on page two! By that time I am so into it, I just GO with it... The worst one was the Nov. before Covid at "The Sasquatch Summit"... I had been asked to do two presentations as one fellow could not make it at the last minute... and I started in... got it done... looked at my notes and found I had not even gotten the right page open!! The entire presentation was entirely from my mind...

Was talking with a friend this morning. My land is severely sloped (National Forest in a mountain range) with lots of rocks and erosion. We were throwing ideas around for putting in a natural bulkhead to catch erosion run-off, and to terrace my little section of the 10 acres I live on, before thinking about putting up buildings and getting a lot of livestock. Big rocks, for sure, to delineate the start of the terracing, and then judiciously placed branches and trunks of small trees which have to be thinned out, while planting seeds of vining plants/cover crops to develop the root systems necessary to stop erosion. Fall leaf raking can be "swept" over top of the piled up branches, and it will all compost down year after year. Most likely I would eventually get rabbits and put their hutches close to the terracing edge, because their droppings are great for composting and building up soil, just from sheer amount. Plus, I am partial to boxwood for a privacy hedge, so I know I'll be sticking cuttings in the ground, too.

OMG What an awesome time your video offered me today. I took note of several things.. but I must say that I was pleased to hear one lady said "plant something" It doesn't matter whether you have an outdoor area or not. I have been growing GREENS indoor. Now I feel like I am part of you guys. :))

Thanks for sharing the Homesteaders event!! Love your family and all that you do!!! I also love "Whitehouse on the Hill" ;) What is the name of the you tube family that came to your home in a white van that had so many children? I found you thru "Roots and Refuge", love them too!! I've been watching your video's from way back in the beginning

Had my tickets and hotel reservations for the drive from California. Lots of sh*t happened (can imagine during these times and living in Ca) but we tuned in to all the online attractions, and subbed to so many new Yt channels. We will be there for next year but even more.. This is a movement taking place; “gotta return to the past to help survive in the future.”

I am so glad that the HOA event was so successful for the organization. I live 40 minutes from there and I took a Thursday Rabbit class with Jeremy Chambers. That day was absolutely great. But I waited 1.5 hours to pull into the parking area. I waited 45 minutes after parking to get my bracelet. The lines for the bathroom were hundreds of people long and even though I was a VIP upgrade and was supposed to be able to sit in a sat for each lecture. I could not even get close to the tents! I was aggravated, exhausted, could not go to the bathroom or get food due to lines. I was so underwhelmed by the crowds, I ended up leaving and not coming back. I did not get my moneys worth. I could not learn anything and even FIND anything. No one seemed to know anything when I asked for info at the front desk. Very disappointing. It is hard to justify the money spent on a limited income.
