The story depicted there is mahabharata, because in the kurukshetra war not only Indian kingdoms fought but the kingdoms around the world also fought, including Greeks, Latin etc so the Egypt might also fought and the man in the arrow bed is bishma
We know of Bhishma pitamah of Mahabharata who had the boon of ichha maranam meaning he can choose an auspicious day for his death. So after being wounded in the battlefield he asked Arjuna to lay him on the bed made of arrows. Could it be that depiction? Wow Praveen you are doing a good job!!! 👏👏👏
The man sleeping on the bed of arrows is BHEESHMA. When he is shot ppl around him made a bed of arrows for him untill the battle gets over. It's a scene directly taken from the Mahabharata !
Hi Praveen !!! Thank you!! Mahabharat - Bed of arrows - Was it Pitamah Bheeshma? He was struck on the 10th day and was waiting for Uttarayana to die. He laid on the bed of arrows for 92 days. A scene from Mahabharata war. The arrow bed is for Bhisma. Not a bed actually, it just shows the amount of arrows that he got pierced with. He also has a boon where he can let go of his life whenever he chooses to and he chooses to let go at the end of the war. That day came to be called Bhisma ekadasi.
"Bed of Arrows" depicts the death of Bhishma, titular character of the Bhishma Parva, in the Mahabharata. Van Buitenen Translation is my primmer. I was happy to learn later there were indeed other English translations, even several dating from early 1800's even. Van Buitenen's has never been properly finished though.

The best carvings that I saw in my life "The carvings with a message" and thank you very much Mohan you did a great job.... The guy who is lying on the arrow bed is "Bheeshma"
Bed of arrows, That’s Ganga Putra Bhishma, one of the most significant characters in Mahabharata, So the carvings mus be showing the battles of mahabharata!
For me it shows how in the distance past it wasn’t all peace, even around such splendid temples. Life has always been a coming and going of good and bad everywhere you look.
Ancient temples have stories to tell and they are carved in the walls of the temple for future generations to learn and understand. It is the scene of Mahabharata depicted in these walls. Ramayana and Mahabharata are two epic sagas in Hinduism.
Thats Bheeshma Pitamaha...He has a boon to choose his death. While he waiting for the right time Arjuna creates a bed made of arrows as his body is pierced with many arrows. That's the scene depicted there. I am waiting to understand, what's the connection with those Egyptians. Are they part of the civilization too ?
Bro it is believed that the Mahabharata War was more like a World War . I guess present day Egypt might have joined forces with one of the two sides . The problem is that they called kingdoms with names that are not at all similar to their present day names . For example - present day Iran was divided into two kingdoms which were called Aswaka & Yavana kingdoms respectively.
Bhishma! The Mahabharata war was a World event. Who knows really where it took place. In Russian history, there is a great battle that took place on Kulikova Field = Kurukshetra
Man the Great Battle of Mahabharata is not the Kulikova field Battle . Both are very different from each other. The reasons behind the Kulikova field Battle are very different and even not comparable with the The Mahabharata Battle . And the biggest difference is the timeline itself. Kulikova battle happened in 1380 and Mahabharata happened way earlier in 3067 B.C.E. So both battles are totally different from each other and absolutely have no connection in that.
I have no doubt that these carvings depict the scene from Great war of Mahabharata.. In Mahabharata war, they have mentioned that Kings from all over the world participated. E.g.1) Madraraj Shalya (मद्रराज शल्य) was from Misr i.e. Egypt. 2) Shakuni was from Gandhar i.e. Afghanistan 3) interestingly there is mention of King from Kamboja (Yes, modern day Cambodia) who is son of the "God of Rain "Varuna" himself". This King faught on behalf of Duruodhan. The scene Showing "Man sleeping on the Bed of the Arrows is Bheeshma Pitamaha.. In Mahabharata War 2 important people (atleast) God beheaded. One was Dronacharya got killed by Dhrishtadyumna and Bhirishravya got beheaded by Satyaki. Two more people got beheaded were Alayudh and Alambush by Son Of Bhima i.e. Ghatotkach.
@richard baybusky Mahabharata war took place 5000 years ago at the end of Dvapara Yuga. (Please search for Yuga cycle in hinduism to understand more. We are presently in Kali Yuga).
Does anyone else daydream about meeting Praveen Mohan at some ancient site and he shares with you some awesome knowledge? I often think about meeting him while Im on vacation visiting sites and he just so happens to be there researching some new topic.
Dear praveen you shown the war seen of Great Battle of Mahabharata and assuming Bhishma pitamaha on Ampaseyya (arrows bed arranged by Arjuna) so there should be a starting point like childhood of Kouravas and Pandavas, Bhima with huge body, then school days, playing ( gambling). So try to start from that point so that whole epic will be available. Nice narration
If Indian & Cambodian governments do some excavations sure we will find missing link which connects Angkor Watt temple to India No matter how much world ignores significance of Hinduism💪💪 Its powers will clear👊 fogs 👊and 👊narratives👊 created against Hinduism because Bhagvat Geeta itself says ""सत्यमेव जयते"" 💪💪means ""Truth prevails""💪💪
What is in it for the Cambodian government to invest on such investigations? Knowing the truth is one thing but the consequences of knowing the truth and handling it are bigger. Unfortunately, the masses (us humans) aren't saavy and mature to handle the truth. Hence, government puts a shroud over the truth. Hopefully, humanity matures as a whole as time progresses for such truths to be revealed.
Someone must do a high quality digital recording of all these carvings to save them before they're even more degraded and make it available globally. These ancient monolithic sites around the world belong to all of us, not just the country/people where they're located. How amazing would it be if these stories were available for close up VR study? How much might be learned of our past with many studying it? Someone please please do this for humanity! And I'd definitely pay to access that experience. Thank you Praveen for sharing everything you have with us and great work!
Pitamah bhishmah a great warrior who was respected was by both the sides that's why we can see persons near by are standing with their hands fold , kindof paying respect or tribute to him while he about to die in the battlefield.....it's totally a Mahabharata scene carved in Angkor wat.....cholas ❤

These r the visuals from the battlefield of The Mahabharta...evry warrior from the entire world participated in this battle..maybe this is why we get to see the warriors from the Egypt n other continents...In the end it was only Pandavas who survived the battle n Shri Krishna N Balrama were the one...there were only just a dozen left of the warriors in the entire world ...in the end it was Maharaja Yudhishthir (big brother of the Pandavas) who becomes the King of the entire earth n Shri Krishna was his Companion 🙏🙏🙏
in ancient war....drums and music was used to communicate special attacks or movements so a massive army could move and operate together over a long distance without vocals

Please help us decode the wall of war even more.. you make us feel proud of Hinduism more and more by every video you do.. big fan🙏🏼
A man lying on the arrows was Bhism Pitamaha from Mahabharath and these all pictures were from that only, the biggest fight ever done for 18 days.
The best carvings that I saw in my life "The carvings with a message" and thank you very much Mohan you did a great job.... The guy who is lying on the arrow bed is "Bheeshma"
Bed of arrows,
That’s Ganga Putra Bhishma, one of the most significant characters in Mahabharata,
So the carvings mus be showing the battles of mahabharata!
That depicted Mahabharata war, and Bhisma lied on arrows and Dronacharya head cutoff by Drustudumha .
By reading the comments I can see many scholars like you are attracted to higher levels of knowledge. Encouraging.

Nah even 10 year old kid knows this events here
Most people know massacre of mahabharat in india.
Bhism and Draunacharaya's end is one of the important things to show on walls to get life lessons.
Yes
For me it shows how in the distance past it wasn’t all peace, even around such splendid temples. Life has always been a coming and going of good and bad everywhere you look.
Ancient temples have stories to tell and they are carved in the walls of the temple for future generations to learn and understand. It is the scene of Mahabharata depicted in these walls. Ramayana and Mahabharata are two epic sagas in Hinduism.
It will only look like a chaotic war scene to anybody who doesn’t know what it depicts..
Thats Bheeshma Pitamaha...He has a boon to choose his death. While he waiting for the right time Arjuna creates a bed made of arrows as his body is pierced with many arrows. That's the scene depicted there.
I am waiting to understand, what's the connection with those Egyptians. Are they part of the civilization too ?
ooh so this depicts mahabharata war
@@resonatebob4495 That's right. Precisely 10th day of Mahabharata war.
@@dwight2762 I don't find any sources or materials that say Mahabharata is a world war. Can you share some if you have any? I want to know more.
This war screen is from Mahabarata. And the man lying on the arrow bed is Bhishma.
I enjoyed your series on Ankor Wat. Thanks for the info and hard work.
There is clear evidence that colour was used. But its mostly washed or eroded off. It must have been fantastic in full colour.
Afghanistan
3) interestingly there is mention of King from Kamboja (Yes, modern day Cambodia) who is son of the "God of Rain "Varuna" himself".
They carved Mahabharata war scene. That's Bhishma's arrow bed. Basically Angkor wat is vishnu temple. So dasavathara scenes and krishna avatar scenes.
It has definite description of Mahabharata. And there is Bhishma lying in the arrows.
Hi Imran: I thought the same, he must be Bhishma. I think you are familiar with Hindu mythology!
@@ramchalamacharla9489 yes absolutely I'm and I also believe that this war has happened in ancient time
Thank you, Mr. Praveen Mohan for your details. Please explore more and bring us many more details about Angkor Watt. Again thank you very much!!!
If Indian & Cambodian governments do some excavations sure we will find missing link which connects Angkor Watt temple to India
No matter how much world ignores significance of Hinduism💪💪 Its powers will clear👊 fogs 👊and 👊narratives👊 created against Hinduism because Bhagvat Geeta itself says ""सत्यमेव जयते"" 💪💪means ""Truth prevails""💪💪
The guys who r playing music in the middle of battle (where no one would kill them) has the most amazing feel of live actions EVER !
So Epic !
This is definitely a mahabbarta scene, Praveen try to find Abhimanyu episode here, so exacty we can know what is a chakravyuh
Thank you praveen mohan.. beyond interesting.....thank you for your work... keep us educated
Hope someone will read this and come forward to do it. 👍
I felt these carvings are depicting the story of Mahabharat war.. including the bed of arrows on which Bhishma was resting
Thank you for the good vedio. The war scene carved so meticulously, with every minute event, this is the scene of Mahabharata battle, the man on the bed of arrows, the great personality, Bheeshma.
The entire sculpture on the Angkor Wat temple wall is that of Mahabharat Yuddha and the person lying on bed of arrows is Bhishma Pitamah.
The man pierced with arrows is "Bhishma Pitamah" and guess what the "Great Man" was alive for roughly "60" days with arrows through his body.
*Yaiye 1st*
*Actually the carving which is shown is actually Bhisma Pitamaha of* *Mahabharat Character who fought for kauravas side*
*And its actually arrow bed in which Bheeshma pitamaha is lying and the Bed Arrow was shoot by Arjuna*
*I am saying this without watching video hope i am right😊🕉🚩🇮🇳🙏*

Bhishma on the bed of Arrows. Scene from the great Hindu epic Mahabharatha. 🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🕉🕉🕉💕💕💕
Hii praveen I think this whole battle field depiction is of great war of mahabharat. The guy lying on bed of arrows seems to be bheeshma pitah maha, the elder of kauravas and pandavas and army cheif of kauravas. I already pointed out this arrow bed depiction in comments in one of your earlier videos. Glad you also took a note of this in this video.
Ialso agree bro
Praveen Mohan sir please also get a translator and post your videos in Tamil and Hindi as well .. you are doing great however many indians are missing your valuable findings .. and iam sure it will be great for your channel as well .. if you wish I can help you in translating/dubbing videos in Hindi .. thanking you for the awesome work you been doing :)
Obviously a carving of the Mahabharat
He is the legendary 'Bhishmacharya' from Mahabharata. He stayed on Ampasayya to wait until 'dakshinayana' arrives. Great information as always. So much respect to you Praveen Mohan.. Likes your videos a lot

I wonder if we could find the barbarik's head on a mound or hill carved somewhere in this depiction. It would give us immense insight.
Great video always look forward to more. keep up the great work
Thank you for your kind words and for watching this video.
in ancient war....drums and music was used to communicate special attacks or movements so a massive army could move and operate together over a long distance without vocals
Bed made of arrows is a scene of mahabharata, the war which was fought between Kauravs and pandavas..The Man who lay on arrow bed was bhisma
Always looking forward to these videos. Thanks Praveen!
