After watching Justin take the Jeep through the mud pit, Christian surrenders to peer pressure and throws in his unlocked GU Patrol. Time for a recovery lesson from the big man before all the rigs tackle the flex trails and we put the Gladiator through it's biggest test yet.

Justin fits in with the crew because he’s just a normal bloke who still has his inner teenager at peak levels, you can’t fault the bloke for that because look how bloody well those twins carry themselves. Props to you Justin and Sarah!!

I’m guessing you got a hellcat or a helliphant motor lined up .. the twinkle in your eye when your complaining about power tells more than you give away . I’ve seen them in the states there wild . Will be good seeing one in aus going full send

Standard 392 would be plenty, no need to roast 40's with a Demon motor.
So good seeing a jeep getting a decent run on RUclips in Australia. They are so under rated, it’s ridiculous. Yeah, they ain’t the best for out back touring. But they are so good at what they are designed for. I love mine. Taking our JLUR to the cape in less then a month.
@@Jay151 hi mate… not yet. I have the 2.2 diesel. It’s a great little engine and very good on fuel. Its such a shame it’s been canned. Mine has all the mods and I was getting an easy 850 range out of 81 litres. I’ve literally just put 33s on it, it’s probably gonna drop to 750-800 judging by the figures I’m getting now. There’s a long range tank available, but weight is getting up there now.
Just came back in mine. No range anxiety up there. Just EFTPOS anxiety.
I couldn't believe how dust proof it was.
Palm and gunshot drop ins are easy peasy in a jlur too
I think its the reliability and limited diesel variants.
@@Jay151 yeah. I can imagine. When the 2.2 was stock it was no BS getting high 6s-to low 7s on the Highway. With all the mods now it’s about mid 9s on the highway.
Great to see Jeeps, Nissans and Toyotas playing nicely together. Remember the best 4wd is the one that you are getting dirty. Looking forward to the next video.

For sure different from Patriot Games; but an honest and valuable look at the capability of the rigs! All im going to say is that the FJ49 is a real Sleeper of a rig! But the Jeep is going to be bonkers!

I could relate to the Ute stuck in the hole. Used to get bogged like that a lot in Botswana. I used to put a spare tire close to the vehicle in the hole and then run the recovery rope over the treat and lift it out of the hole. Was before Maxtrax was this easily available. Brilliant video.
I love that they're amazed when a brand new Jeep on the biggest tyres any Australian has ever seen with full custom suspension and axles does a track but then a clapped out unlocked GU does the same track 5 mins later...

Ram assist for the Gladiator and FJ49, manually distconectable sway bars for the FJ49 and maybe a 3L V6 eco-diesel swap what should be a option in Austrialia, instead of a Hemi swap ?

After I saw you guys in the US I new you would do a jeep🤟🏼🤟🏼the main reason I don’t think Aus embrace the jeep is our nanny ASR rules the limit what you can do.
If you want more different jeep driving do the Shaquira desert trip in Oman. Look up Guide Oman tours. 3 day drive the the desert from Muscat to the sea. I have done it 5 times and loved it.🤙🏼🤙🏼

Awesome video. I wish our Gladiator had the same set up. lol I really like how the FJ looks. It has a great patina, never respray it, just clear coat.
An obvious follow on for this would be a one off spec X1 on 40's with off tap suspension, because even if your not "touring" you still need a camp at the end of a day of chucking some mud.

At least 6.4 hemi, and you need ram assist for those 40’s. You can see the stock setup and how hard it was for your son to turn it.

There's plenty of gear available to customise a JEEP.
Hemi swaps, stroker kits, blower kits with 700hp output. The list is seemingly endless (except for the depth of the pocket in paying for all these extras)
And the diesels

They should have kept the 2.2 diesel going. It’s a great engine. The 3L is plagued with issues, I reckon because of the small engine bay.

What gear ratio did you go in the diffs? I've run 40s on my jk for awhile. It's definitely not a powerhouse but still has plenty of power. Wipes the floor with most other 4wds on 35s and 37s still.
I was curious also what those axles were orderes with. Maybe only 4.88s?

@@gen1c8rs88 i would even go so far as to say 4.88s with 40s and any other gear he ia going to install will not cut it. Should be 5.13s, and im speaking from experience.... 4.10s and 40s just arnt right haha

I dont get why Jeep decided not to bring the 3.0 V6 Diesel into AUS. I traded my petrol Gladiator for the Diesel and the torque on that makes the world of difference. Spins 40's like its nothing. Super cool video!!
The engineers couldn’t work the 3.0 engine around the RHD steering.
I think if you transplant a cummins engine into this it would be epic
Maybe a 4bt cylinder Cummins but not a inline 6. Too big and heavy for what these guys want to do. Lots of mud etc and the Cummins is heavy

Just supercharge the Jeep… should give it that power you feel lacking…..
