Klutch Sports has no shame. It's clear what the agenda is, and they're no longer even keeping it a secret.
Phil Jackson called it out years ago. Kevin Durant called it out years ago. They were both attacked by the LeBron-led media.
This guy wrote an entire article based on six games, and he didn't even bother to watch games of the other players who were finalists for DPOY.

Exactly!!! The entire issue is, he is a "Clutch affiliated" reporter that wrote an article whose purpose was to put doubt on MJ's award. But he then says he's unbiased???
Not only that, he claims that the stat scoring is subjective, chooses 6 games out of 41 home games, and does not even list the "criteria for steals. While using only MJ and comparing no one else.
All of this while not even listing how MJ would've benefitted from the so called "stat stuffing". The entire article is literally a hit piece and only serves it purpose to be used as ammo for Lebron mouth pieces.

In this field, if you're advertising a product to the consumers but also talk down the competitors product in order to promote yours, then your product is considered trash in the business world. @Herosennin 7 месяцев назад +5

Any player you could put in the top 15 has stats and earily comparable compared to the average amount of games between them.
In the scheme of it all, how much does MJ averaging slightly more points matter? How much does it matter than for his career Lebron had 1 whole rebound and assist more per game?
Like you said especially when it comes to the supposed top 5 their stats honestly are eerily similar which means unless we're talking advanced metrics, who cares.
To be the greatest, you gotta be better at winning than others. No that doesnt simply mean 'most chips' but its HOW you won these chips and when you lose its about HOW you lose.
For example there are zero chips that Lebron has won that I'd put at the level of the chip Nowitzki won.
Ultimately, Lebron sure as hell is a better player, but all his chips were either playing on the clearly best team in the league or clearly second best.
So he didnt just lose a lot of finals, he also only won finals that he was SUPPOSED to win.

This article is beyond stupid. You will find numbers doctoring. You'll also find Lebron and other current NBA players travelling and palming the ball while dribbling. Tired of them trying to tear Jordan down to make Lebron look better.
Acoording to the NBA official rules *An assist is credited to the player tossing the last pass leading directly to a made field goal, but only if the player scoring the goal demonstrates an immediate reaction toward the basket after receiving the pass. Note also that an inbound pass can be credited as an assist if it leads directly to a field goal.*
As was mentioned in the video, two of Lebron's assists that were shown were not as assist according to the rules. As assist is creating the shot for a teammate. Just passing it to a teammate and that teammate beating a defender in isolation is not supposed to be an assist.
The one thing that irks me is this may set a precedent in the future where some NBA legend 20-30 years from now will be talking about current NBA stars the same way.

This is even not mentioning the fact that a guard averaging let's just say it is 2.5 steals and 1 block is already insane. And Eaton still finished 2nd.
Same for Alvin Robertson who finished 4th I believe?
Now we gotta look at Hakeem Olajuwon too no?
Or how about Haberstroh, who admitted to being a Klutch Sports hack, saying that things looked fine the year before and after.
Well guess what, Jordan still got over 200 steals and 100 blocks in 1987, had better stats overall than Michael Cooper, and didn't win it.
And on top of that, Haberstroh says he's got 6 full games right? Publish them in full so we can all see for ourselves.

As for not being able to get away with it in today's game, wasn't there the one of the highest discrepancies for JJJr last year, but upon reviewing the full year they said the stats were ok?

Having watched MJ since he was in college, he really deserved at least 3 dpoys. No one played defense with his tenacity and energy but he was pouring in 35+ppg with insane moves and dunks so his defense was overshadowed by his offensive ridiculousness. I know for those people who missed MJ completely It seems impossible that somebody could dominate at that level so there must be some reason but yeah, he really was simply that good. It's like when Wilt scored 50ppg you assume he had some crazy advantage and he did - the average center was 6-8 at that time. So you assume MJ had some unseen advantage but in his case, it was just that he was really that much better than anyone who will ever play. At the time, I knew that and I would always say that it's incredible that he even existed at all.

Blocks credited from 41 away games - 128
Home cooking happened with _everybody_ but as UH says, playing at home is quite a bit easier, you get to sleep in your own bed, no travel, fans love you, familiar surroundings etc etc
Away is the opposite _and_ there is also bias happening against away players. Stat trackers are going to be much harsher on away players, especially superstars, because of inherant bias.
This is something Haberstroh is obviously not smart enough to consider because he never looked at away games to see how those stats attributed to Jordan compare to what's on film. Also, conveniently, they looked at games that are not available for public scrutiny. Funny that...

In every year wilt prioritized hours own stats, the team lost. Only two times did he truly sacrifice for the team concept, and those were the two times he won.
That's all I'm pointing out. It was even stated during his career that he was too focused on his stats than the team concept, and that's why Russell always beat him.
Jordan was the only one who didn't have to sacrifice his mega stats and still won at a mega rate.
He played 11 full seasons with the bulls and won 6 titles in that time. That's an insane win rate only matched/bested by Russell who didn't dominate individually, and magic who had a stacked team from the moment he entered the league.

@@MGPCycling "That's all I'm pointing out. It was even stated during his career that he was too focused on his stats than the team concept, and that's why Russell always beat him." You make it seem like it was Wilt's idea. That's false. Hannum, the coach of Phila told him to score and rebound as much as he could because that was the only chance they could win because they SUCKED. The fact he lost to Russell is because his teams were obviously STACKED with HOFs. That goes to the point MJ didn't win until surrounded by talent and the best coach. His scoring did dip some, but he's was always the first scoring option. Didn't Curry win 4 chips and also score big? He didn't sacrifice numbers to win.

I was there. We all knew that mJ was being marketed as the next superstar and he was replacing Bird, Magic, Kareem, Dr.J & Moses etc. When MJ was critisized for not passing and not playing D, his assists numbers and stocks increased dramatically. Everyone knew the stats people in Boston would never give assist for things Chicago was calling an assist for Jordan. It was common knowledge and all part of the Jordan brand marketing pushed by the NBA & Jordans reps.

Not even surprised. Typical Klutch/Lebron hypocrisy. It's like Lebron complaining Lakers don't get enough calls. I've seen one ridiculous 'assist' by Lebron, where he passes the ball to a player in/near paint... he holds the ball for few secs, dribbles out to 3 point line and does his move to drive in for a layup and lebron gets the assist lol.

I love this channel and I think it’s laughable that anyone thinks LeBron is better than MJ.
LeBron is fantastic. He’s one of the few athletes of this era that’s performed at such a live level being nearly 40.
With that being said 1:55 by Hill and the pump fake J from Love are both assists for LeBron.
If those didn’t count as assists a guy averaging 6-7 would bde the league leader.
Keep up the great work. I love how you bring in old school clips to show kids how the game was still basketball and these guys had sitting and dancing.

The NBA has ruined itself with these atrocious stats compilations. The assist was never given to a passer if the receiver of the pass took even ONE dribble = compared to today where one or two dribbles are allowed???? This is why it is impossible to compare era's. The NBA has been watered down with ridiculous assist giving, massive traveling violations, not to mention the palming and carrying of the ball by the dribbler. And load management??? The current NBA is a joke and has been for about ten years now. Thank you for this video

Stats back then had little effect on who won DPOY or even made an All-Defensive team. The year prior to MJ’s DPOY, the Bulls finished with a 40-42 record and had the 7th ranked defense. Yet MJ didn’t finish top 5 in DPOY voting, and didn’t even make an all-defensive team.
The next season, the Bulls posted a 50-32 record (good for top 5 in the league), and had the 1st ranked defense. MJ only had 23 more steals and 6 more blocks compared to the season before, and won the DPOY convincingly.
People cared more about if your defense helped the team win lots of games, and if you led them to being a highly ranked defense overall.

What is often never acknowledged, let alone examined, is a point AOH made several years ago regarding the obvious stat manipulation the NBA performs for LeBron's shot/rebound/assist totals. If you go back and watch his Lakers game breakdowns, you will be sickened by what scorekeepers often regard as credited assists and rebounds. Half-court LeBron passes, where the shooter catches the ball and dribbles 25+ feet to the basket, are often scored as assists for LeBron. Rebounds where both LeBron and a teammate both touch the ball, are often awarded to LeBron, even if his contact is incidental or out of control. It's grotesque and far and away worse than anything the league or the hometown scorekeepers may have done for MJ. Until that's acknowledged, I don't want to hear another word about MJ.

But the point you made about the 86 dpoy winner specifically was what made me believe most of it is bullshit. There has been a surprising amount of evidence against that 88 Jordan campaing on twitter, but I wish common sense was as present too.
