i love watching your self portraits every year, it kinda feels like a festive tradition by now lol
Why no one reply
I feel like every year we get a new mystery rendering flavor from your self-portraits, love it.
“A lot of times, the easiest way to go forward is to go back backward a little bit” - love this; i use this philosophy all the time when producing music. - Sinix, man, this year’s self portrait is so gnarly, haha! I’m so happy to see these every year! Keep up the awesome! 😁🙏☀️
This skill with which this was executed is astronomical
is that a joke cos of the head floating in space?
@@dubudubudan 😉😉
I like how this selfportrait works kind of better as a video than just the final result. And the stories too! They just make it so nice and complete
As an artist AND psychology student, I can only recommend implementing mindfulness in your life. You can either do mindfulness meditation or just small mindfulness exercises during your day to day life. As somebody who struggled with a lot of anxiety, it helped me keep myself grounded and relfect upon my situation. Even if you are not struggeling with mental health issues, it can only be beneficial to you:) So I highly encourage you to read up on it and try it yourself!
On a different note: Sinix you keep being an inspiration to me, as an artist and as a person. I am always excited to see new videos from you. (Also you really had to flex with that mirror orb didnt you?)
@@disagreement529 What makes you think so?
The amount of times that i thought you were done with your art but still kept on adding things. This is so dope.
Big plus for meditation!
I'll be the one to say that meditation should be a mandatory topic in every art course. It's one of those things that gives a huge buff to artists with no costs at all 😁
i honestly have to reflect on how long ive been watching this channel. i feel we live in a totally different time now and the perspective i have on the channel is different too. and youre obviously a different person too because everyone changes. well one thing never changes, a november 1st guaranteed sinix upload , thank you
funny you mention how long you’ve been watching, i found this comment after clicking on your profile from a 5 year old comment on “drawing faces from any angle”
Mindfulness meditation is invented by Buddha. For those interested here is his instruction :D
At one time the Blessed One was living in the Kurus, at Kammasadamma, a market-town of the Kuru people.
Then the Blessed One addressed the bhikkhus as follows: "This is the only way, O bhikkhus, for the purification of beings, for the overcoming of sorrow and lamentation, for the destruction of suffering and grief, for reaching the right path, for the attainment of Nibbana, namely, the Four Arousings of Mindfulness."
Mindfulness of Breathing
"And how, O bhikkhus (monks), does a bhikkhu (monk) live contemplating the body in the body?
"Here, O bhikkhus, a bhikkhu, gone to the forest, to the foot of a tree, or to an empty place, sits down, bends in his legs crosswise on his lap, keeps his body erect, and arouses mindfulness in the object of meditation, namely, the breath which is in front of him.
"Mindful, he breathes in, and mindful, he breathes out. He, thinking, 'I breathe in long,' he understands when he is breathing in long; or thinking, 'I breathe out long,' he understands when he is breathing out long; or thinking, 'I breathe in short,' he understands when he is breathing in short; or thinking, 'I breathe out short,' he understands when he is breathing out short.
"'Experiencing the whole body, I shall breathe in,' thinking thus, he trains himself. 'Experiencing the whole body, I shall breathe out,' thinking thus, he trains himself. 'Calming the activity of the body, I shall breathe in,' thinking thus, he trains himself. 'Calming the activity of the body, I shall breathe out,' thinking thus, he trains himself.
"Just as a clever turner or a turner's apprentice, turning long, understands: 'I turn long;' or turning short, understands: 'I turn short'; just so, indeed, O bhikkhus, a bhikkhu, when he breathes in long, understands: 'I breathe in long'; or, when he breathes out long, understands: 'I breathe out long'; or, when he breathes in short, he understands: 'I breathe in short'; or when he breathes out short, he understands: 'I breathe out short.' He trains himself with the thought: 'Experiencing the whole body, I shall breathe in.' He trains himself with the thought: 'Experiencing the whole body, I shall breathe out.' He trains himself with the thought: 'Calming the activity of the body I shall breathe in.' He trains himself with the thought: 'Calming the activity of the body I shall breathe out.'
"Thus he lives contemplating the body in the body internally, or he lives contemplating the body in the body externally, or he lives contemplating the body in the body internally and externally. He lives contemplating origination-things in the body, or he lives contemplating dissolution-things in the body, or he lives contemplating origination-and-dissolution-things in the body. Or indeed his mindfulness is established with the thought: 'The body exists,' to the extent necessary just for knowledge and remembrance, and he lives independent and clings to naught in the world. Thus, also, O bhikkhus, a bhikkhu lives contemplating the body in the body."

Sinix with airbrush ? O.o what kind of sorcery is this
I started watching the process, then got impatient and skipped to the end and was like "wtf happened here?"
Lesson learned: Never skip the process.
you the best Sinix😍
dude I LOVE how much more creative your self portraits get each year
Warning for people wanting to get into mindfulness meditation, if you have past trauma, the meditation can dredge up anything that you haven't dealt with and cause all sorts of new problems (I've heard from a therapist that it can cause panic attacks, anxiety, and depression). Definitely consult a therapist if you experience this when trying mindfulness meditation.
Super excited to see everyone’s paintings. One of the best art holidays.
Holy shit it's already been a year?! Time is moving so fast
Why did I think you made 2022 self portraits?
Mr. Sinix , your drawn nose is a gigachad among all drawn noses, and faces, hands, dogs and maybe even other gigachads
Getting wiser, you are. Makes me wanna try some meditation. Great portrait!
Came her for Sinix, stayed here for Sinus
7/10 no rim lights?????
Your self portraits are always a nice little cherry ontop of my year. A grounding, calm little highlight to look forward to, and a reminder of back when I began my art journey and first started watching your videos all this time ago. Thanks for all the wonderful years. Let's hope for many more!
This is the first time that I'm that early and it feels so weird💀 Really love your art, you helped me improve so much!❤
This is a self portrait? RIP sinix I guess? :D
Oh my gods! This video was so fun to watch! Especially the sphere part, which is really impressive!
Holy moly. I just realized that you'll be so perfect as a voice actor for any animated movie or stuff related to it. Your voice has that texture.
just 2 questions:
1. Have you really talked during painting (I mean, simultaneously)?
2. Could you, please, make a video about your technique of painting in a software application (like Krita). I mean to be visible interface of the application, and to explain which mask do you use, how and when you add extra layers, etc. I would be really grateful.
Wow I've been following this guy for more than 5 years now , I just love the way he's growing and improving my first comment on his video
Epic
Great.
You've expanded on the sprout all the kids are going to be making "Lore" videos on it now hahaa! Don't add anything to it, just leave it as it is.
It's always the highest point of the year. Great rendering... kind looks like a psyconauts character
2:22 Line art jumps
5:10 again with the magic trick
this was amazing. this self portrait went from 0 to 100 to 10,000. quite the journey :D
I like how you used shapes in this portrait😍🙌🏼✨
Ty
Just wow the quality, meditative painting indeed, fell asleep lol BTW the trick for "spherize" tool is to use it inside a square canvas frame where the sphere is supposed to be inscribed (the circular perimeter touching the square canvas margins), the positive or negative values will expand or compress angular distribution see "ortographic" projection for fish-eyes (like a real sphere would reflect).
Hi sinix and everyone i want to know your thoughts about starting to draw portraits my goal are to draw semi-realistic drawings and i wonder if i should start drawing "realistic" drawing/practice or should i jump on a specific style or stylize one?
Came for the drawing (the second video I actually watch on your channel) but got a second opinion on what I've started to suspect is going on in my life🙏
-- (wrote the above half-way through) --
... now I'm just blown away by the message I sooooo needed to hear!
Thank you 🙏
Will you be doing more anatomy quick tips? I miss them
the mirrorball ended up looking really nice tho
another common w from papa sinix
I'm addicted to your videos. Each new video is like a little holiday)
Just wanted to say thank you for stuff you're doing
This community is seriously the best. Looking at these comments really just makes me happy because there is so little toxicity (ignoring the few bots). Everyone just seems to be vibing.
Hi Sinix! Do you have any advice on painting with ambient or diffused light, such as on an overcast day? The type where you don’t really have one direct light source
This was a lovely video. I'm not gonna lie, I was doubtful of the outcome of the Vinyl style head bisection but it came out beautifully. Especially with the fushigi ball consciousness, it was hard to tell where it was going until all it once it just clicked.
You sound a lot more anxious in your recent videos, are you okay? :(
Mesmerizing, you never fail to amaze - and inspire - me with your work!
Has anyone ever told you that your stylized face looks like Guybrush Treepwood? :D
I don't usually watch these videos in English, because I don't understand what they are saying and it's very confusing. But your art is too beautiful not to see. 😼
does self portrait day happen like whenever? cuz i swear last time it was august 1st or something.
I LOVE YOUR ART SO MUCH!
thank you for sharing this year process as well! Your little talky-talk are really nice to hear too!💕💕
so good sinix love the concepts!
COOL STUFF! But Sinix, I can´t believe that you decided not to put a specular highlight in that nose!! Rsrsrsrs
E AÍ SEUS MITOS, TUDO BEM COM VCS?
Cheers from Brazil!!
that is a great self-portrait 😀 very different take on how a portrait should look 😀
So you're basically the guy from Ratatouille. Gotcha.
Love the shoutout to meditation, it should be taught more widely, its applicable to *literally everything* you do in life. Its hugely beneficial and I implore everyone to develop a regular meditation habit
you are so rad and i like you and your content a whole lot. thank you :)
the sprout coming out of the skull is just amazing
Can somebody tell me the name of the programme which is used in this video?
Super Sinix triangle based rendering method.. we still waiting it)
Looks like something that that talks to psychicpebbles/Zach
I'm so glad you're still doing this! It came out great!!
Reminds me of the dad from Rugrats! 😅
Time goes really fast
another year where i forget about self-portrait day until your vid pops up in my subscriptions
You are so damn good lol. Mindblowing.
It's impressive how your portraits get crazier and crazier with the years. I love it!
Yippiiee
That was very interesting, now I'm thinking about trying all that mindfulness thing hmmm
You are very brave, drawing a mirror ball in space is the closest thing to hell for me as a fellow artist (ꏿ﹏ꏿ;)
The year you stop doing these imma have the meltdown of my life
Huh, this is the first time i've been on time for a self portrait video.
STANLEY FROM THE STANLEY PARABLE!!!
i forgot, my streak of 1 is ruined but ill work on it tomorrow
man i really wish you could do a guided mindfullness meditation lol, your voice is just so soothing and relaxing.
Please make a video which brushes when will be used
Enjoyed this. Nice image buddy.
Never disappointed love your work
cool human with extremely cool brain
I’d looove this as a keychain head🙏🙏🙏💯
Wow, that left turn at the end was wild!
HEEEE IS ALIIIVEEE
i remember seeing your self portrait day videos from years ago. i've been following your tutorials since my freshman year, and you're the reason i now sit at my computer today finalizing my art supplement as i submit to colleges. man how time flies!
We're in the exact same boat! Sinix helped carry my art skills from freshman year to now. Good luck to you with all your portfolios and applications :)
In spanish... "te mamaste wey" :)
what app you are using indigital art
Omg that was perfect i love it ❤
I was waiting all morning for this!!! Really nice treat right before my next class❤🔥
the part about cat allergies and anxiety disorders blew my mind. i have cat allergies and live with 4 of them, and also struggle with anxiety disorders, and never even considered that not being able to breathe right could affect it so much
Finally, the greatest day of the year! So nice one, hope I can make a good one too
Thank u for this amazing video, your work inspired me a lot ❣❣
BEST self PORTRAIT EVER MAN!
Your art just gets better and better!
Hey everyone, it's the next year
i've been waiting for this
Oh.. I actually did do a self portrait around this time of year... oh crap, I'm in the habits of artists! I need to finish it. I cut my hair right after inking a portrait of me with Long hair, a difference of 1.75 feet. It's like a memento (as if my braided cut pony tail in my closet isn't enough to remember it...) ((anyone know if it's worth making human hair paint brushes???))
ALMOST AT 1MIL SINIX LET’S GO
Holly molly... this was a thing that I saw in my life.
Very nice vídeo and paint, Sinix! You are the best :)
I was all smiley when I saw this on my feed. So excited to see this year’s self portrait!
Sometimes I read zombie apocalypse stories where the zombies have magic zombie cores that characters absorb to level up their super powers. Imma picture those like this from now on.
A solution for the mirror ball could've been to use 3D and then a paintover, but probably that would be another challenge.
Damn I was like thats a really nice portrait and then u split your head in pieces, did the inside anatomy and placed a universe inside your head. Outstanding work!
