I am new to your channel. However, even before the video started I sort of guessed that Anjana might be a Bharatnatyam dancer or at least has some idea of it. Wow! Was I more than surprised to discover that you won so many accolades in Bharatanatyam and that too to be in the midst of stalwarts such as Padmini madam and Shobhana! Mohanlal is one of a kind. He is neither a trained actor nor a trained dancer. He is a gifted artist with inborn talents. An extraordinary person who just lives each character he plays in his movies. You should definitely check out his very early movies to see how this transition happened from playing seemingly negative roles and supporting roles to being this larger than life megastar. He did this in totally unconventional way by purely his acting skills and the great movies he was bestowed with, especially in the 1980s.... that is part of his charm. By the way, keep up the good work, Ashwin and Anjana! Your reactions seemed genuine, deep and very analytical. I also love the fact that you speak in Tamil. That way I get to learn Tamil also. He didnt learn kathakkalli (even years of practices required to learn kathakkalli) he didnt learn classical singing but when he performs its mind blowing. That is in born talent. Like thilakkan sir said he is a born actor 🎉🎉
This is one of the reason why he is no 1 in India. Select the most difficult roles like kamaladalam, vanaprastham, thanmatra, kaalapani, sadayam etc which all other actors fear to take

Monisha who dances along with lal sir and heroine of this movie was a university winner in classical dance and lal sir jut had a few days of practices for this song. But seeing both performing we will be amazed by the talent this man has got. 2. The one scene which you also pinpointed where lal sir goes in rounds and closes his hands to his chest at the end of one sequence. In this scene director wanted both of them (lal sir and monisha) to perform that particular scene but would you believe that despite being trained classical dancer, monisha never got it right. She could not finish that sequence exactly when the song finishes and on the other hand lal sir got it right everytime. So director finally decided to go only with lal sir on screen for that particular shot
