Red Dead Redemption is an absolute masterpiece of a game. That moment when you step into Mexico and this song comes on, its one of those iconic moments in gaming that you never forget.
A friend of mine introduced the game to me, after telling him i hate westerns and then playing the game in new austin, telling him I was wrong this game is pretty cool, he said....just wait till you get to mexico! I understood quickly!
I was so pissed when I played the game through the second time, mainly just to hear this song again and experience that Mexico ride a second time, and my system glitched out and it skipped the song!! :( Grrrrr!! And then I realized that really, you can only experience that Mexico entrance one time. After your first time it's still beautiful, but it doesn't hold the same magic that first one does.
He plays the same finger pattern over and over with like one or two variations. During the chorus/bridge he changes the chords, but the picking pattern stays the same. He's a weird tuning, from lowest to highest strings: BADABE. Low E goes down to a B, the G goes up to an E and the rest stays the same. The chord he uses in the verses is basically a powerchord on the 2nd fret of the A string. You should be able to figure it out from here.
I saw him live this last August. His tone is insane. He sounded more full then most full bands that I've seen. I've been playing music for 20 plus years. 10 of them professionally. I've never heard anyone that has tone that good. Everyone of his song has a driving rhythm. I love it!
Yo pensaba que la canción era del año antes de Cristo más o menos, buena composición, Red dead redemption es una obra de arte en cuanto animación (2009), jugabilidad, música, historia etc etc
I also want to add that this is prob in my top 5 of all acoustic songs ever preformed. I am gonna donate my afternoon tomorrow to learning the tabs for this on my Martin Acoustic...
Very nice style! Also, those Lorientes sound amazing. I was convinced that a Ramirez 4NE would be my next guitar until I heard these. They are probably the best value out there now.
@@christiansaidcanonova9354 Cool thanks. I've been a huge Jose fan for a long time. Been playing bass for over 20 years. Thinking about trying to learn this style of guitar.
If it were close miked I'd agree with you, but that mic looks like it's several feet away. With close miking--say 8" or closer--one gets the proximity effect which enhances bass response, but that mic is much farther away than what would produce that effect. I can say the canon-like low E string on my solid spruce top C10 is the thing--more than any other feature of the guitar--that sold me on it.
@rockabdechafi4ever do you know what mic it is? looks like an AKG Perception 100 to me. a really cheap condenser (sounds good for its price, Im a Audio Engineer))
NINedStark Yeah, you have to use nylon to replicate his tone, it'd be painful for me to hear this with a steel string, haha. But a steel string guitar is more versatile with most genres of music.
@rockabdechafi4ever ...... how mush? im not sure what you mean there but im 70% sure its an AKG 100, just google it, if you live in the states where gear is ridiculously cheap you will be able to get one for $100, but its a discontinued product, it has been replaced by the perception 120. i would buy one but not for the $300 NZ price tag.

It really is!
If I ever go to Mexico, I want to have this playing as soon as I get there.
I'd start playing the entire Red Dead Redemption soundtrack midway through Texas all the way into Mexico lol.
Stephen Cosner Well, I'd come from down south, being from Brazil and all hahah
***** I know how it feels to live in Latin America lmao
Jajajajajajaja no te pases xDDD
Brazil = portuguese. not spanish language.
This bass walk he introduces to the main verse right around 1:54 is fantastic. A simple variation on the theme that completely keeps it fresh.
I know this is an 8 year old comment but FUCK YES that part is so fucking good
@@Michael15_25 It's in the original song as well, though.
it's in the original too?
This is a spectacular song.
Bondee still a spectacular song to this day.
Wow, I keep coming back to this again and again. It's really something.
I initially thought this was a cover and thought "damn his voice is on point" lol.
Just had a facebook reminder that I shared this video 7 years ago. I forgot how great this is. Thanks for the memories.
the right song at the right place Red Dead Redemption Miss These Days
Made a knew one
I'll never forget that part. It got me into this guy. Now he's my favorite singer/song writer
The sound quality of that guitar is ridiculously amazing. I want one. I WANT NOW! lol
I remember when i first played rdr years ago and I cried of emotion and joy when I got into Mexico(hearing this song) because of this perfect game.
Beautiful song. Came here to mentally prepare for RDR2
One of my biggest hopes for RDR2 was for Jose to be part of the soundtrack
this is literally my favourite song of all time. and i usually listen to dubstep.
I'm so far and away of ever playing like this!!!
Wow! Beautiful
Beautiful beautiful song.
1:54 - I feel like I'm walking on the "Escalera" at night 😌❤🏇🏽🌛🌠🌵

You almost got me with the "g up to an e" sentence. Was about to pop my string
@@nosacrality1865 detune ur guitar a whole step and put a capo on 2nd fret, it's all relative. That way u don't snap ur g string lol

Came here 13 years later only to see this song is shockingly kinda simple lol. That's a sign of some incredible song writing
I love this guy
I wonder how terrifying it would be getting a guitar lesson off this man
4 years after your comment and it's still hard to find a nice tab for this

I am hooked on this sound after playing Red Dead Redemption. Truly the song and the moment it came on during the game had me.
This song is a Masterpiece
That guitar sounds great!

2024 still here.
Mexican Border Patrol Office: "Sir, you are going to have to put that guitar down and show me your passport if I'm going to let you in"
Me:
And all cried.
His tone is so damn good!
Could you give me the tablature?
this was excellent
esta canció me hace pensar mucho en John Marston
Ami también..
I love mexico, I wanna start a business there. This song better be on when I enter Mexico.
Very nice style! Also, those Lorientes sound amazing. I was convinced that a Ramirez 4NE would be my next guitar until I heard these. They are probably the best value out there now.
@rockabdechafi4ever I just ordered this mic the other day, you have no idea how excited I got when I saw jose was using it!!
Excelente! groso!!
I love this song this song bought me to his music from red Dead redemption
the sound of this guitar I was carried away in the fantasy worlds
mind blown
Amazing.
I've only just clocked on that this is in red dead, haha no way
Hi TheMatthewRB, this is a solid spruce top!
Hey what model is this? I'm thinking about getting one.
Miles Williams “Loriente Clarita in Spruce”
@@christiansaidcanonova9354 Cool thanks. I've been a huge Jose fan for a long time. Been playing bass for over 20 years. Thinking about trying to learn this style of guitar.
Hi EoinOwnage, it's an AKG Perception 200.
Brought the RDR album just for this song. (Well maybe for the song Compass as well)
I didnt even have to fimish the video... fucking BRAVOOOOO
thats a fantastic guitar - played with bravado
i was really impressed by how much this guy sounded like jose gonzales untill i realized xD

It's a Clarita, spruce top.
Dude this is so good! You should do a lesson on it. I can't find a good lesson on this song anywhere and I can't get it myself.
Did you ever figure it out?;)
True its the microphone but keep in mind that he has some pretty impressive chops as well.
Oh yeah! RDR 2 bro!!!
its got a nice fullness to it
Well, mainly, it's because for this song, the top string is tuned down 2 and a half tones, which results in a very deep and dark sound.
What chords is he playing?
Jon Browne alt tuning BADF#BE. Is in B
@@isaacfernandez6502 someone said the G string goes up to A
Eduardo Cunha de Carvalho Don’t set it to A. The string will probably break. Someone said to set it to AGCGAD with a capo on the second fret.
This!
you rock my socks off...
je suis francai et j adore
Thanks!! :D
❤️❤️❤️❤️
John Marston entrando a México, ojalá saquen ese juego nuevamente para xbox one
It's actually the Loriente Clarita, so double that price tag I just found one for $1200. If it was only $500 I'd own one :)
The guitar is amazing however good the mic is.
Does anyone have an accurate tab for this? Would love to learn to play this :)
How much does a guitar like his cost?
Is the guitar shown in the video solid spruce top or ceder?
Red dead redemption :)
@TheGreenFrog95 Cordoba Loriente Clarita, now where is she haha.
It looks a lot like an AKG 100. If it is, sounds damn good for $90
If somebody could make a tutorial for this one, that woud be great.
what kind of microphone is that?
Red dead redemption ;) !
@RATM4EVER what you need is this microphone

what tune does he play on ?
+xZephy I believe it was B A D A B E.
+Patrick Fry More like B A D A S S
i love this song. red dead redemption forever
Oh hey me what the fuck
Who doesn't like the rdr series.
To play this song is better a Nylon or Steel guitar chords?
Well, depends on if you are speaking about which sounds better or which makes it easier...but i think Nylon gives the song a better "colour".
Im speaking about which sounds better, thanks! =D
NINedStark Steel sounds really nice, I played the song on nylon and steel, but I guess nylon fits better with the original sound.
