- In this episode of the Build Show podcast, host Matt Risinger delves into the current supply chain disruptions affecting the construction industry with special guests Les, the president of Sashco, and Nathan, a chemist from Sashco. With over 80 years of history, Sashco is known for brands like Big Stretch and Lexel.
The conversation starts with a discussion on the reasons behind the supply chain disruptions, including the unprecedented demand in the construction industry and other unforeseen issues. Les and Nathan explain the challenges they've faced, from raw material shortages to shipping delays, exacerbated by the recent Texas freeze.
Despite these challenges, Sashco's team has been working tirelessly to find alternative suppliers and manage the limited allocations they receive. They highlight the impact of these disruptions on the availability of products like sealants and the potential for widespread shortages.
Matt also shares anecdotes about the scarcity of construction materials, like drywall mud, illustrating the broader challenges faced by the industry. He emphasizes the importance of understanding different sealant technologies to navigate potential product substitutions.
Nathan breaks down the differences between reactive and evaporative sealants, explaining how each type cures and their respective properties. Reactive sealants cure by reacting with atmospheric moisture, resulting in a harder finish that may be less flexible. Evaporative sealants, on the other hand, dry through the evaporation of water or solvent, offering a more flexible finish that's easier to apply.
Throughout the episode, Les and Nathan provide valuable insights into the complexities of the construction supply chain and offer practical advice for contractors and builders facing product shortages. Tune in to the Build Show podcast to learn more about these issues and how they may affect your construction projects.

Dude, I really enjoy you're channel, but why would you bombard us with 19 videos at once?
Same. But because of the bombardment, it’s bloody annoying. I have to unsubscribed.
He's an idiot. Instead of a nice 2 weeks worth he floods our inbox. Unsub
I just posted the exact same thing.. Unsubbed!!
I see I'm not the only one mildly pissed off at the roll out of these videos.
These podcasts are great for long drives
?? Who thought it was a good idea to spam your subscribers
As a retired commercial caulking and tuckpointer, I'm a diehard urethane user. Will NOT use any latex or silicone on any exterior or water exposed surfaces. I'm also a major complainer regarding proper caulking application techniques. I guess one of these days I'll get off my arse and actually do a video on the correct way to apply caulk...but as general rule of thumb, NEVER touch caulk with your finger, spray, or device. We ran 5 crews a day caulking high-rise building applications and never needed to use a single glove!
Anyways...great video gentlemen, keep 'em coming! :)
...go on? sensai 🙏
Sponsored by rockwool lol. I can’t get it in my area
Been trying to find Rockwool for weeks and nothing.
Why are you doing this to us Matt? Did Olight put you up to it?
BLINK TWICE IF YOU’RE OK.
Matt on vacation so the team just reposted a bunch of old content?
Terrible roll out. My feed is dominated by your videos.
More like disrupting my subscription feed...
mess up your video release schedule? jeppers
WTF Matt you couldn't have done a worse rollout!!! You need to promote your social media manager to subscriber aka fire them!!! I'm unsubbing until you address this, or don't and just ignore us holding you accountable.
Plaster of paris
I was like... someone hacked my account? Why do I see this guy all over my subscription feed?
It's pretty pathetic that there are so many complaints that they released an older series all at once so people could watch them one after the other. Get a life. We should all be very thankful that Matt & his team are willing to share their knowledge to both other builders and homeowners to change the way we build to make them last. FYI, looks like you forgot to upload video 7.
19 vid dump? unsub
If these came out 1 by 1 every day I might add them to the commute playlist but instead im just going to ignore and move on with my life. Please don't spam like this. Its annoying and makes people unsub
So not that you probably care but to be transparent, I unsubscribed. I cannot stand seeing one person flood my feed. I don't want to deal with that every so often.
Just unsubscribed because of this overload of content. Sorry Matt.
