Here's a quick breakdown of the rest of the Lost Forest: ruclips.net/video/cX4bmHlPGOA/видео.html *If anyone is confused, here's a slightly outdated map of the Monkey Trails and Forest Tales:* www.sandiegozoo.org/podcast/images/zoo_monkey_trails_map.jpg *Here are the changes made:* 1. Black Mangabeys were moved to the Gorilla Tropics 2. Golden-bellied Managabeys = The Capuchins 3. L'Hoest's Guenons = Lion-tailed Macaques
I came back to re-watch this after the San Diego Zoo just announced their re-branding and improved conservation efforts. I cannot express enough my love for this zoo
What an incredible zoo. Hoping to go this year in the Summer - let me know if your in that area at that time because it would be great to meet you there 👍
Oooh, I remember that exhibit, since I visited there 2 or 3 times before! Yet, did you also view an exhibit of some red river hogs, otters, monkeys, & a forest buffalo there as well! Try visiting the San Diego Zoo Safari Park or SeaWorld San Diego soon! Leaping Edmontonia!🐒🦍
@@aydnwtsl2018 You have to realize though that for every phase out species, something else is taking its place. There have been rises in the populations for some eulemur species, giant river otters, takin, and more.
The U.S. has a bad relationship with all macaque species due to their likelihood of carrying zoonotic diseases such as herpes. All species are a phase out in AZA zoos. They are letting Europe deal with them.

The monkey that you mention from movies and TV shows is "Crystal the Tufted Capuchin" she most famous critter actress.

Monkey see? i do i see them.
The AZA is phasing out its breeding program for a species that’s still struggling so much in the wild? That’s not good!
Europe has a good LT macaque program- AZA can better use its resources on other species.
First the giant panda, then the Asian black bear, now the lion tailed macace, what next elephants.

@@dtorts7068 not the Japanese macaque. They are still doing well in the AZA.
