  • Welcome to between the nature,
    Somanathapura.
Somanathapura is situated near mysuru. This temple was built 750 years ago by Somanatha Dandanayaka under the reign of hoysala king Narasimharaja lll. The temple being in trikuta style, has three shrines with idols of Lord Venugopala, Lord Keshava and Lord Janardhana.
This temple is solely dedicated to lord Vishnu and has the sculptures depicting all his avatars. Significant events of Ramayana, Mahabharatha and Bhagavad gita are sequentially carved on the walls of the temple.
Like most of the temples built in hoysala style, this temple is too star shaped structure connecting 16 corners. Upon a little research, we realize that structure was adopted so that more surface would be available for the craftsmen to sculpt. Also this structure would prevent damage caused by natural elements like sun and rains. Also the temple had to face damages and lost its treasure in the past due to attacks by delhi sulthans.

Such beautiful carvings at this temple; its a serene and beautiful location; just memerizing; althought there has been a little damage by invaders. This temple is also easily approachable by road from Srirangapatna.

    Seems impossible that we would ever be able to understand how they were made, something about the Columns and the horizontal lines especially at the base,.:;;
    Speechless
Oh just enjoy the beauty of it, its like a meditation.
Thanks for making this video, a little bit more emphasis on figures and ceiling would have been great.
The columns are like something fed in a replicating device to get multiple numbers of the same and some of the flower pattern, to try to understand these would be like giving a computer to the builders of those structures to figure out.
THINK COMMAND MATERIALIZE CAN BE IN INFINITE WAYS.
Wrote this in other clip of these amazing structures but fits the same here.
These architectural wonders leaves you speechless the intricacies, OH MY WHATEVER, their is no way these could have been done by chisel and hammer, it’s like they could transform-the beauty of their thoughts in Stone.
    Symphony in Stone.
We would never be able to understand how these were made, unless we can go back to that time 😂😂😂, SO JUST APPRECIATE THE BEAUTY.
These structures are so precious that it makes you nervous just to see people walking around, hopefully they are careful.
Even thinking of these seem impossible out of this world but to materialize these, mind boggling, you wonder if it is real or a gift from some other reality.
Not a believer in any religion, Hinduism or any Abrahamic religion but anything that can inspire such wonders are worth it so who knows.
Maybe these are to inspire but not propagate beliefs that is done by religions in modern times.

These structures are precious libraries of sacred information preserved in stone. They are priceless gifts from the ancients. I'd love to see the factory that produced all those pillars. I love how well taken care of it is.

Yes it is one of the greatest gift from Hoysalas. It took 58 years to build with 500 sculptors ceaselessly working on it.and is one of the many fascinating temples constructed by Hoysalas. But nobody can create this kind of wonderful architectures in this modern era.
