    No wonder post office runs deficit with guys like this scamming them with fake stamps

    I've noticed questionable sellers of "forever" stamps, too. The post office typically doesn't discount stamps, so if someone is selling a large volume under face value that is a red flag. There are some legitimate stamp collectors and stamp dealers who often have older vintage stamps at a little under face value simply because they are liquidating collections of tens of thousands of unused stamps. Those are generally legitimate.

      They are a lot of legitimate sellers but when you see these kind of unused rolls I wouldn’t go near them

      @@libertysportscards4674 A friend of mine bought a roll of stamps under face value, and it took a long time for him to get them. I told him they might be counterfeit. I just got a Christmas card from him today, and I checked with a black light. Real stamps generally fluoresce a dim yellowish green. His stamp didn't fluoresce at all, so I suspect his was counterfeit. Don't give your money to counterfeiters! The post office is hurting a lot as it is.

    There are also counterfeit stamps for sale on Facebook by advertisers who are based in China or Russia.

    This post is a little old, but the fact is heavily discounted stamps are counterfeit, and sellers are still running ads on Facebook. I haven’t looked at eBay.

    I have ordered forever stamps online twice. each order was for 100 stamps and the first bunch was $27.50 and second batch was $26.50. yes the price is "fabo" if these stamps are fake then I will admit it is the greatest counterfeit job I have ever seen because I have gotten sheets of stamps directly from the post office and these are absolutely the same. I have talked to my carrier about it and at the post office in my town and I can`t get a straight answer from anyone on this just opinions. I even watched a video from the post office saying these discounted stamps are all counterfeit but as I watched the video ads for discounted stamps were rolling under the video. don`t know who to believe😐

    I have always been afraid to buy stamps on Ebay... The most I ever sent out in one week this year was 500 letters, but my all time high for a week was 1000 letters back in the day....

    • @libertysportscards4674
      @libertysportscards4674  3 года назад +1

      Wow that’s impressive. I don’t think I would have enough hours in a week to get that many letters out. Well done

    • @themediamarauder1582

      The 1000 letters look me about 15-18 hours per day for 7 days. Me and a buddy of mine just sat at my house for a week writing letters. We wanted to see how many cards we could get back from the new sets we just bought. This was before the internet so we sent every card from the sets we bought...

    • @themediamarauder1582
      @themediamarauder1582 3 года назад

      I got 1000 done he only got 500 done.. I couldn't imagine the collection I would have if I had the internet back then to tell me who did and who didnt sign. We only got back about 10 percent of our cards back...

    I use vintage stamps. Much more time consuming to make 58c, but a lot of players enjoy the cool stamps I use and I still save a little. It helps being a ttmer/stamp collector.

    Never knew you could buy brand new stamps on eBay, I thought only the Post Office or authorized resellers like grocery stores were OK. Good information to put out there about counterfeit stamps. Sorry that happened to you.

      Those rolls on EBAY are China sh!t 1/2 the time or stolen. All I buy is vintage stamps. No new ones, almost never fake.

      Its a capitalistic system and it's "buyer beware". Our government is not in the business to check every transaction made. So don't go fascist on this by blaming the government.

    Thought about getting a postage meter? the ads are no longer just on Ebay I am seeing one in particular on my Windows homepage for $29.99. I almost fell into their trap "We're getting our stamps from Defunct Businesses and Estate Sales. Next time I need postage stamps I'll just order them online from the postal service or pick them up at the market. I am finding quite a few retailers sell postage stamps you just have to ask. Your right though PayPal is the safest way to make online purchases, I haven't had any problems using PayPal in 15 years. I was skeptical at first about using them, but I highly recommend PayPal to anyone who makes online purchases even on an occasional basis.

    They probably do random inspections or rely on their delivery drivers to report any potential counterfeits. And once they get reports they flag your address and check every letter you send until you get cleared. If so it would make sense that it only caught it when you send a ton of them. You are more likely to be part of a random inspection or more likely for an employee or driver to look at it closer.

      No, most counterfeits do not respond to UV light in the correct way because legit stamps are tagged with UV ink. This gentleman is lucky he was not charged with a crime.

    Been ordering stuff from this place that sells stuff made in China. Yes I ordered some forever stamps. Now it doesn't take an expert to figure that one out. Ordered 3 books of 20 for 3.99. I ordered them just to see how good they might look. And no, I have no plans on using them. But I do have other plans. Sounds like a good news report or something.

    what brought me to look i received spam mail selling the stamps 28 each .liberty singles probably dont get flagged lot of effort for occasional ones but if the machine flagged dozens or more it peaks mgm. surprised you got a postmaster instead of postal inspector's . china has professional feedback boiler rooms other countries do too, went on ebay some were selling a few legit collectable. have you looked into bulk mail or a printer stamp legit co
    stamps like 10 or 20 . but one 2 rolls 100 for 46.88 clue ship from china. so obvious . bottom line the usps is being cheated American people are being cheated so prices will go up for all . just like shoplifting from stores raises prices for all

      Excellent insight. I never buy anything from China off eBay as you know it’s going to be complete garbage. I’ve looked into bulk mailing from stamps.com but it doesn’t seem worth the hassle as you have to pay a monthly fee and it’s a very small discount

    What jagoff buys discounted modern postage and does not realize they are counterfeit? And he is lying about having them checked at a Post Office. The way you MUST check is to use UV light.
