Right. I take my shed hair bundles and make those my product testers. Sounds odd but I carry a lil bundle of my own hair and test it IRL cause somethimes I can save myself a return trip.
How I just love watching these long ass black women’s hair wash days! I feel like you’re the survivors of the natural hair movement and the results are glorious❤ I’m at the beginning of my journey (1 year post BC) and I can’t wait to have my arms ache because of washday!
I'm so happy to see you back! I was just looking at some of your vids last week wondering if you'd ever come back. I'm experiencing thinning/shedding too and I was not expecting it after taking such good care of my hair. I'm now in recovery.
I'm so sorry to hear that! Yea, there are like so many people that have experienced shedding like all at the same time, it's literally so weird. But you're not alone, in this together, it'll grow back ❤️❤️🤗
I’ve experienced thinning too. One thing I’ve noticed was that I was deficient in many things. When I started being more conscious of what I was putting into my body and taking my vitamins and minerals I noticed a big change! Maybe you are deficient in vitamins and minerals too?
Here’s a quick hack to help unravel the tangled ends when you’ve had braids or twists for a bit… dab a bit of good ol’ Shea butter onto your fingertips and coat your ends… then unravel. I’ve used this to even comb out dreads… just coat them with the Shea butter and finger detangle…pull them out strand by strand.
May I suggest doing more self care (stretching & meditation). Thinning is likely hormonal & can be reversed unless it’s due to an illness. Increase your protein intake & drink more green tea. My stress area starts going haywire when I’m overly stressed & allowing outside influences to effect me within. I had to learn to stop giving that energy. When I do the work within, it makes such a difference. Blessings & Energy
Thank you so much for the suggestions, and I agree, stress, hormones and underlying health issues all contribute to thinning. Doing all I can to do the inner work, stress-wise and health-wise. Love a good stretch and meditation! Thank you again ❤️❤️
Welcome back!!!! Glad to see you. I was literally thinking about you the other day. Appreciate your content and hope you’re doing well outside of RUclips ❤
You are the realest RUclipsr I’ve seen. Everyone else makes hours of work look TOO easy. Seeing those kinds of vids discourages me for some reason. THIS however, makes me feel at home.
girl try rosemary water for the bald spot!! boil fresh rosemary ( you can even through in some ginger and green tea ) and spray it on the bald spot everyday. ive struggled with this same spot of my hairline being really thin and its growing back so fast now 🤎
You can still use the oil for your hot oil treatments, you’ll probably want to avoid your scalp, just in case. The oils probably oxidised or went rancid. They will still function as a prepoo eventhough the smell is a bit iffy.
I heard AMLA is an good ingredient to include fuse in your oil. It helps to thicken the hair and increase follicles on your head. So more hair strands and thicker, stronger strands. Maybe you could try that. Curly Proverbz talks alors about that and Henna.
Yes I've tried Amla, not long enough to see a difference but definitely doesn't hurt to give it another shot. Love Curly Proverbs! Yea, I love how she promotes ayurvedic treatments
@@cockyretrospect4085 I've used the oil consistently for about 6-12 months in the past and I noticed that it made my hair thicker for sure. I wasn't very good at retaining my length, though because I was rough with my hair but it's definitely a very stimulating oil. I would always feel that tingling sensation (like peppermint does) and would have decent undergrowth in my braids after a few weeks.
Oh no, I'm sorry to hear that 😕 Thinning is really frustrating because it can be caused by so many different things. I hope you can pinpoint the cause of the thinning, that would def help as you're regrowing
Some advice from my experience with dealing with thinning and hair loss and scalp hair. It could be the coconut oil it does clog your pores because it is a heavy oil. I had thinning from that and noticed that I shouldn’t use coconut oil anymore so I buy everything that goes on my body without coconut oil as an ingredient. There is an app called think dirty I’ve used for years to find clean products because I’ve had hair loss and my body break out due to shampoos and conditioners because they contain harmful chemicals. A strand test on your hair is cool but those products soak into your skin also. Just be mindful 😊
New subbie today! About to start a growth journey and doing research. Love what I’ve seen. You also have such beautiful & healthy looking hair. Healthy hair is my goal.
I'm happy to see you're back😊. I'm a relatively new subscriber and your videos have been extremely helpful to improve my hair routine and get closer to my goals❤.
Great to see you. Yes my hair is also thinning I keep it in a bun a lot just started to wear it down since i have it in a protective style single braids hair style. xoxo
try onion rinse and leave in for 15 mins i've been doing it every wash day and i repeat and apply onion juice on my bald spot 2 -3 times a week its working xx
Question, I’m trying to go a more natural hair route for myself, how do you keep it from puffing out? Is there any product you recommend? Your hair looks super healthy and I’d love to get my hair healthy too. I’m also tender headed and would love tips for that too if you have any, thanks!
thank you love 🤗🥰 And I sure did lol But I got it after this happened, unless I had it before but was asymptomatic 🧐 Not sure but yes, I definitely heard covid was swiping edges left and right. Sending you much love and positivity, we'll regrow it together lol ❤️
@@cockyretrospect4085 yes sis.. I had it multiple times so I don't know if it was when I felt it or I just tested positive with no symptoms. But my hair began to struggle and as I'm researching what in the worldddd could it be! It was Covid in our world🤣🤣. Your hair is beautiful and yes we will grow together 🧡💛🧡🤎
You got me lost here. You did an oil treatment, added on top of that was shampoo, followed by the conditioner before you eventually washed your hair out?
is it important to oil before? I started doing it but I stopped since i felt it was so messy and i didn't know whether or not it was helping. only did it for 2 wash days
hey hey! Yea, I actually cut a good amount off during the time I was away but the thinning was partially due to health reasons. I've also tried switching up my products and yes, not using raw oils for some time (because I was also curious about the effects) but just needed to heal on the inside
The combination you did in a previous video of curly magic and I create hold are a solid combo. Stick to that. And definitely take care of your health. Checking your hormone levels, consulting a dermatologist to analyze your scalp perhaps can help. I hope you feel better. You are amazing!
That strand product testing tip is golden! The amount of setback videos I’ve seen because of a new product causing matting is crazy.
Yes, I'm truly concerned, but really goes to show you can't just put any product on your hair, not everything is really for everyone
Such good advice!!❤
👀 Sis, why you talking smack about me? Lol 😂🤣🤣🤣
