that may be a grass pickerel. chain pickerel have tighter patterns. grass pickerel will be a little more spread apart. doesnt matter though... theyre both the same thing haha

that "pickeral" was a Northern Pike, we have thousands of them up here in all our water in canada
We also have pickeral here too tho there like baby pike they look almost the exact same except they don't get big so chances are it was indeed a pickeral

Good Looking bow LFG. Practice, practice, practice. Repetition is the father of learning. Get that muscle memory down and you will do great. Been shooting my bow every day since early spring at 30 35 and 40 yards and got it dialed. Deer season needs to start!

Fishing in mass is a blessing and a curse. I’m from the Berkshires (eastern mass) and there are days I can’t keep my hook in the water for more than 3 seconds before I get a bite and there are days I don’t get a nibble. FYI random little ponds on the side of the road are the best spots to fish.

So cool to see someone excited about pickerel lol, Im from MA and have literally fished that exact spot and the pickerel are so annoying up here, a ton in most massachusetts reservoirs.

Welcome to the Northeast.....great creek fishing and catching all those species! We may not have as many Giant fish as Texas or Florida but we do have a lot of fun species to catch! Pickerel fight really hard and so do the creek and river Largemouth! Creek Chubs and Fallfish are also a lot of fun to catch!
Where the Concord River meets the Merrimack River in Lowell. Beaver Brook runs in less the 1 mile upstream too. Great urban fishing area. Multiple species, pike, large and small mouth, carp, crappie, Monster catfish, occasional small striper. Don't go barefoot!!!
You should go try Mary's Pond in Rochester. Killer LMB fishing and stocked Rainbow Trout too!
Also probably the clearest and prettiest pond in SE Mass.... and it's 15 min from the CC canal.
Hey Jon, while you're in Maine you should check out the rapid river and the roach river if you want some legendary brook trout and landlocked salmon fishing!
