@@shanehall2242 it had to do with people, originally from New Orleans, relocating after Hurricane Katrina. Whether or not some landed in Maine, I don't know. However, they (in the skit) took their New Orleans ways with them, and there you go. 😅
Maybe that's his style. He only went Crazy in the Digital Shorts because he was more comfortable and in control of the whole thing. He's pretty smart and talented. Plus based on his Emmys monologue, he seems to have a good handle on the good and bad in society. I wouldn't be surprised if he directs a full film later. Maybe part drama. Sort of like how Judd Apatow films are hilarious but have some real heart in them. He could be someone like Robin Williams, who can go from comedy to drama, and make some very meaningful stuff. It'll be interesting to see what happens.
I grew up in Maine, went to college for Criminology in Maine and sat in on many a court case and I can attest that this is 100% accurate. That's Maine justice.
I'm from Maine, and the ironic part is that the French people in Louisiana are actually originally from northern Maine and Canada. They were Acadians, and were deported by the English in the 18th century, and eventually wound up in Louisiana. There are still a lot of French speaking Mainers in the northern half of the state. Names like Boudreaux and Thibedeaux are still fairly common up there.

so after looking this up, it turns out there's actually some accuracy to this. apparently Cajuns are descended from the Acadians, a similar ethnic group originating in the area that includes Quebec and Maine before they emigrated to Louisiana.
Also, I remember learning this in 6th grade, knowing how languages come from others I was like "Acadia, Acay then the dia is one sound" so it's basically slang like how a lot of AAVE formed

so after looking this up, it turns out there's actually some accuracy to this. apparently Cajuns are descended from the Acadians, a similar ethnic group originating in the area that includes Quebec and Maine before they emigrated to Louisiana.

Correct. The Quebecois pronunciation of “Acadian” sounds like A Cajun. Which is how they came to be called
Also, I remember learning this in 6th grade, knowing how languages come from others I was like "Acadia, Acay then the dia is one sound" so it's basically slang like how a lot of AAVE formed
except, they havnt been here in a few hundred years.
