Immediately, I-20 enters the city limits of Augusta. It travels just to the north of Doctors Hospital just before an interchange with the eastern terminus of SR 232 and the western terminus of I-520 (both parts of Bobby Jones Expressway). The westbound interchange has access for Walton Way Extension. After crossing over Cranes Creek, it travels south of Warren Road Elementary School. It curves to the northeast and has an interchange with SR 28 (Washington Road). The highway travels to the east of Westside High School. It crosses over some railroad tracks of CSX before an interchange with SR 104 (Riverwatch Parkway). The westbound lanes meet the Georgia Visitor Information Center. It crosses over the Augusta Canal and then the Savannah River. Here, the hidden SR 402 designation reaches its eastern terminus, while I-20 enters South Carolina.

Oh yes one of my favorite highways too, except for one thing that all Atlanta highways have a lot of, BAD Traffic.
yeah, they always have to drop at the same damn exit! it's like they watch that shit from a secret camera and they do their accidents of their own at the same location of the roads
A lot of Georgia freeways (and freeways everywhere) are probably gonna need widening soon. I-85 Needs to be widen from the Stateline of AL (but really from Montgomery, AL) To Near Coweta County Line. The Interchange with I-85/I-185 gets traffic often
I remember driving through this route on my way to North Carolina to see family especially my grandparents🥲 they’re gone now rest in peace to them😔

At least it wasn’t traffic I-20 traffic during the day gets really bad

In November 2014 I take I-20 East in Georgia before going to Maryland for Thanksgiving and it will be 10 hours 50 minutes away.
You’re adding unnecessary time, just hop on l-85 and save 30 minutes

I live further south in Warner Robins Ga where Robins AFBase is. But I have travel I20 plenty of times and love Augusta and Savannah area's.
Great video Mike. Quick note: once you cross into SC you’re in North Augusta not Aiken though it is Aiken County.
