First month in Seattle update!

- Hi everyone!
Here is a very impromptu video just giving you a quick update with what’s been going on with me. I uploaded this video straight from my phone without editing, so my thoughts may seem all over the place. It’s not meant to be polished at all. I am aware I need to work on my public speaking. Hopefully I’ll get better with time. As always, please let me know if you like these types of videos! I’m open to constructive criticism.
Btw, happy fall!! It’s very interesting living in an area that has ACTUAL seasons!

JB, there's a Jollibee at the South Center / Westfield Mall in Tukwila (about 10 miles south of Seattle on I-5. When commented on your earlier navy vids, didn't know you already moved to Seattle. I've been in area since July 1992 after relocating from NYC. My last year (1985) in the USN was at the PSNS Bremerton, WA when my ship was in drydock for major overhaul. Welcome to the PNW, the dry summers here make up for the rest of the gloomy and rainy year.
I was craving jollibee the other day! I might have to make a visit one of these days. Sounds like you have enjoyed living in the PNW if you've been here for 30 years (:
Hi Joann! Great video and congratulations on college & wishing you well on your finals! I’m also ACDU (Navy) and was interested in your story on transitioning to the Reserves. Would you be willing to make a video about that sometime in the future?
hi yes! Sorry for the late reply. I can definitely talk about switching into the reserves from active. I'm actually trying to decide if I want to reenlist or not. My current contract is up next month. Ahh!! When are you supposed to be getting out?

Hi Joann!!🙋♂️ Thanks for the update!!!😁 I would love to see the weekend with your parents, but I have no idea about transferring that. I think a tour around campus would be cool if you ever get to it. But, yeah just focus on school for now. Im so glad you like Seattle. Good luck with your eye surgery on Friday. I've had a friend that got it and was super happy. Thank you again‼😁🥰✌♥️

@@JoannBasilio, I would look online, just search for what you are having problems with, try RUclips or a friend on campus, or go to a store that sells your phone and ask. In the Marines sometime ago. I have been watching RUclips videos on many things. One of the things is of service members today. I am surprised at how much all of the services have changed. I get valuable insight into what many people are thinking today and what they are doing for their futures.
I am very interested in your future videos because you are a pretty down-to-earth person. Your thinking is not insane. Considering what has been happening in Seatle the last few years, I'm interested to see how you cover that, or if you do. Best of luck in school and your future.

Good Evening Jo, thank you so much for this update video of your first month in Seattle. I am curious as to why you changed things from Dentistry to Health and Nutrition Major. Also, I believe there was a previous video about you getting a dog, has that taken place and I just missed it or has it not, again just being curious. Contact with family is very important, I'm glad that you had that chance, and that they are interested in becoming a vlogger too, perhaps inspired by your own videos. Speaking as someone who recently graduated from college, I use to think I could never do an online degree, but I actually enjoyed it a lot. One of the most important things I can tell you and it sounds like you might already have this down; is to get into a routine and stay with it, it will help you stay focused on the course work that you're doing. Always great seeing your videos, can't wait to see more, take care and be safe out there. - Joseph
Nutrition is my undergrad major! I am still on track to dental school which will probably be another 2 or 3 years. About pup, if you missed it in the video, I was 6th pick for the litter. Mama pup ended up only having 5. I should be set for the next litter (:

Sadly, I have no idea what or how to help you with that as I'm not familiar with the abilities of MacBook computers. Question: how much is the Lasik? I want to get Lasik after i get out of Bootcamp in hopefully December but i was told i need to be on shore duty to be able to get it and i would have to wait a while since there will be a waiting period and "screenings" for candidates. Be safe
Hi! With the 5% military discount the LASIK office gave me, it came out to a little over $4000. The price may depend on the area, but that's how much it cost me in Seattle. If you do it while in the service, it would be free! You are right though, there are a bunch of screenings you would need to complete before finally getting to do the actual procedure. You don't always have to wait for shore duty. Your command is able to approve eye surgery depending on the ship's schedule. When do you leave for boot camp? Let me know if you have any questions! Yep! I'm in the reserves now
