We are back home in canada for a bit and its time to sit down and have a chat about why I chose to buy a house in Nicaragua incase anyone is thinking of buying a house in nicaragua.
This is my own authentic, personal experience regarding the purchase of my beach house in Salinas Grande, nicaragua and how it all came to be.
Some pros and cons about the process, legal stuff, having a good team in place to help with things and anything else I can think of when it comes to why I chose to buy a house in nicaragua.

It is totally different from white Canadians than Nicas-Canadians. I am a Nicaraguan-American; I live outside Managua and have a home in the States. I love Nicaragua; it's my roots, and I was able to experience living during the pandemic (I only visited during the summer as a child). My husband is American. He became a Nicaraguan Reisdents. We live between the States and Nicaragua... It will be our retirement place. We are from the South Louisiana.

Nicaragua is a beautiful country, its more cost effective and I read its safer versus other countries versus Colombia and Honduras. I been to Guatemala, el Salvador, mexico costa rica...but i enjoyed Nicaragua the most when i visited those countries.

Funny coincidens - We have a plot on Manitoulin that will be built on once the house in Nicaragua is done - My wife was born there and we will be splitting time there starting this year...
Just be aware that only 3 in 10 I have seen (over the last 20+ yrs) actually make it past the 10 yr mark...

This is exactly what I’m looking for. Peace, silence at home beach but the stores around if you need something. I don’t want neighbors close by, I want the secluded life then have the choice to go to town. I visited CR many times and the cost is crazy now. That’s why Nicaragua is now my choice. What area are you living in? I would love to chat if you’re into to.
Im in the northern end of the country along the coast. I was looking at CR too but the cost is just too much for what you get now unfortunately
I'm considering buying a home in Nicaragua and moving there with my wife in a 2-3 years. We plan to have a kid shortly before then as well :) I heard you mention that a friend of yours runs a turtle sanctuary. We considered running one ourselves, but we're thinking it may be easier to just partner up with an existing one.
Yes we have a friend who owns and operates one. They are alot of work and dedication thats for sure, possibly finding one that would want to partner up might be a good option to start with as you could always start your own later on after learning how it all works!

Hey Dave! you can own a vehicle or bike as a non resident as well as a start a business or buy a house or property but getting insurance for vehicles you need to be a resident which isn't a difficult process when the time comes.
However, there are ways around that stuff that are still legal with the help of some locals or friends with having things in their names. People have done it for decades with no issues including us Our bikes have been the cheapest but best investment ever to have down there or in any latin country. easy to store and get around on and there are mechanics every 100 feet. cars and truck take a beating from the roads if you're remote or salt air if youre close to the ocean that they can start costing a lot of money if you're not down there full time and using it daily!

Love your video and hear about your experiences. We are thinking about Nicaragua as a Plan B too. Will visit in December. What is your preferred airline company to fly with and how far out would you suggest booking for the best price. We know December is a bit pricey, but it is the only option we have this year. Thanks.
Thanks for watching! I couldn't be happier with my choice of Nicaragua. We fly with Avianca Airlines almost all of the time out of Toronto, great planes and cheap flights. December gets a bit pricey so if we are going down then we try and book those flights by April/may if possible, they can be under $300 cad for most of the year to be honest! the month of November into December can still be very cheap tho cause rainy season is just ending at the start of nov and the tourist rush hasn't started yet, also its so green and lushish from 2 months of rain its so gorgeous and colourful!
