- On our first week at The Boom in Nicaragua we had some good moments; some tubes, some air sections and some rippable walls. This wave is tricky, fickle even, and I look forward to sharing some more sessions with you as we progress through our time here.

It's crazy how there's crowds no matter where you go now.
Especially given that there is literally fuck all around that area for 30-60 minutes.
God bless their souls though because I live somewhere else in Central America and the waves are better and the crowds are lesser.
Especially if they keep publishing videos about the places.
Come to Oregon to. Catch some gnarly surf with max 20 ppl
I think its a shame Kale names these breaks for his audience - only makes it worse and i doubt he'd do the same for his local spots
This spots been blown up. Its one of the most popular spot in Nica. Obviously not a secret
Love this POV stuff. It just gives great vibes and insight in how it really is to surf. I'm a kiteboarder (mostly on a nearby lake so no surf), but really wanna try surfing sometime again.
Certainly after seeing this. It's such a pure thing. With kiteboarding the wind is always blowing hard, sometimes with surfing there's this serenity , really cool.
Thanks for uploading
Thanks so much!
I got skunked really badly when I was there back in 2016... I had to hitchhike part of the way cuz there were no buses going there. So glad to watch you score!!
That boards looks lively under your feet!! love the POV 🤌🤌
Can you explain a little about safety in barrel wipeouts? I’ve been struggling with small injuries with this one
Doing your best to get through the back of it helps and diving through the back as early as possible helped me. Sucks if the waves too big though because then you’re going over the falls after you jump through. You’re never going to 100% be sure of yourself being safe in a barrel wipeout the waves folding over on you.
Yes, Kale if you can do a video showing how to properly fall in a barrel, or punching through the back, that would be amazing. What would be even better is if someone could take video underwater of you falling in a barrel to see what you do with your body when that happens 🤙🏼
Priority number one is to fall away from your board
I was there four years ago. Chancletas is a great beach resort, and the Boom waves were fun.
Big shout out to Shay, Loretta, and Sushi! A little anonymity would be considerate though. We don’t need a Bali #2 on our hands.
Stop being selfish. Did you ask the local community if they don't want the tourist dollars that surf tourism brings? Or are you just assuming what you want is universal? You don't have ANY right to ANY spot. Simple as that.
So stop naming names?
@@doublestrokeroll Nothing to do with me. At the request of the local surf crew (not camps ran by expats, but citizens). They expressed a candid frustration with travelers from the states, Aus, and Brazil blowing the area out. All visitors are obligated to help manage crowds 👍 but I might encourage you to stop being self-righteous lol…
@@KalesBroccoli You can name names… just not places 🤙Appreciate your content.. simply reiterating the importance of discretion
@@justinjackman7044 See right there you expose your bias. When I said locals all you think about is the "local surfers". What about the hotel and guest house owners? What about the restaurateurs? Transportation rental places? You think they like the fact people aren't coming?
F.. the local surf crew. They don't own the waves and they have NO MORE RIGHT to waves than anyone else. I don't have anymore right to the waves at my local spot than anyone else, from anywhere else. This attitude is a fucking joke. You talk about me being self-righteous with a straight face...lol....unbelievable. Talk about projection.
He can name any place he wants because naming spots is NOT wrong. One more time. NOBODY has an exclusive right to any public surf spot. End of discussion.
Get off your high horse.
Thank you for taking us with you to Nicaragua!🤙🏽
That missed wave Kale! 😭 The second barrel you got at 5 minutes in looked nice. Perfect morning for it.
haha the mosquitos on that walk trough the bushes are really intense!
SO INTENSE
So satisfying to watch, beautiful 🫶
Nicaragua is awesome great video. One of the best places to surf great waves good vibes 🤙🏻
Pulled into a couple fun barrels to this am south Carolina . Enjoy the povs brother . Happy surfing . Keep riping .
Right on!
Surfed here in 2007 &2008, just me, my brother, and home boi
Amazing surfing 🎉
Dang dude absolutely ripping!
Went there in 2015 as part of a bodyboarding crew. Great waves but pretty lawless back then. Chief of Police shot dead on his doorstep whilst we were there.
Spent about a week there 10 years ago and it was really quiet then, just the 4 guys I was with, occasionally there might have been a couple of others but that was it
Awesome. Thanks for sharing!
Editing is a great skill
You're going so fast!! Im a begginer trying to get better so i'm watching your channel a lot 😅. Also how can you paddle into these waves with a shortboard and such ease?
My buddy trips out there sometimes, the locals are surprisingly nice and very clean swells
love the vids man
Love to see you calling old mate out at 4:45. Sticking to your guns!
Lol communication is key and he was very friendly about it
Saw that too, I think we all get into frenzy mode especially when you’re on fire. Glad it was friendly.
Love it 🎉❤
More of this size pls 🙏
1:59 broski did a flip
Is this chancletas?? Great spot!
Chancletas!
Seen ya rip a few new pits as well
You should visit Costa Rica!!!
Chancletas beach resort at the boom ?
Do you really need to name the spots man?
Yes. He does. Stop being selfish and understand that whole communities benefit from the dollars surf tourists will bring in. It's not just about you. You don't own spots. They're not "yours". EVEN if you're a local.
So fucking sick of this attitude.
Is this a secret?
Dude. Come on... Whether or not a spot is a secret is not an honest way for you to justify to yourself the naming of it
@@zacdolling No "justification" is necessary. Naming spots is not wrong.
Every surf vlogger names spots, pros too. Nothing is hidden anymore. 15-20 years ago it was much different but nowadays Fuhgettaboutit
Hey Kale is your GoPro on a chest strap or on a mouth piece?
Deffo mouth
@@ETYSURF thank for your reply. Do you know if the mouth piece has a cord attached around you in case you drop it?
@@stuartgaylor2420certain companies make straps that attach to your arm in case you drop in
Mouth :)
You tell them mate 😂
Lol
Why’d you call out that dude saying he got that last one? He was better positioned than you wasn’t he?
Because he got the last wave and paddle back out and was trying to skip the priority
Lucky he wasn’t a local then… 😂
Just because you’re “in the spot” or deeper, doesn’t mean you should go. Be aware of others and how much you’re taking. We get conditioned to this mindset that if you are deeper you have the right to go. That’s not the case if you just got one. This is tough when it’s inconsistent. Take turns and don’t be overly aggressive trying to catch every wave just because you can. And don’t get mad if youre visiting and a local is taking more than their fair share. That’s just how it works
It’s called back paddling. He paddled around Kale to set himself up in a deeper position.
What sharpeye is that?
Board update coming soon!
So much skill I don't have lol
So you surfed the boom and didn't get a barrel 😂
Lick the lense bro
I hope that you enjoy the surfing. But how can visit Nicaragua and ignore the obvious oppression by Ortega's government?
Not my position to comment I don’t have enough context
