the metal thing should be closer to the burrs, the silicon flapper should be facing outwards, to the exit of the grinder. The metal is supporting the flapper (therefore behind the flapper) to break the clumps. Hope that helps

There is one highly misleading mistake: The adjustment ring is taken off in a far right position (2:05) while it is mounted back in a far left position (3:20) . This should in practice lead to impractical coarse grind settings - when following blindly. In general I like all the clear explanatory videos and to me they were mostly extremely helpful.

This looks like the dream grinder for home use. Is a smaller hopper available for under home kitchen cabinets (under a counter)?

Yes there is. Definitely recommended for home use.

Has the zero point (Nullpunkt) to be set a new after cleaning? I think it should stay the same as before the cleaning, right?

    • @MahlkoenigGrinders

Yes, exactly. The zero point should not change after cleaning.

Good video, slightly confusing though, probably the edit.
When releasing the adjustment ring the shot from above shows that it’s in the middle, then when it’s taken off it’s turned from finest to coarsest (0 to 8).
Then putting it back on to align it with the marker 0 position again, next shot from above is in the middle.
Now that’s where it gets interesting. Took it apart, put it back exactly as it was, didn’t change or turn a thing. In 0 position the grind is extremely coarse, it shows on the screen as well how open the blades are.
Any ideas what could have gone wrong?

@@MahlkoenigGrinders you didn’t seem to remove the grind adjustment ring at the zero point (you removed it at a courser setting) but you put it back on at the zero point marker.. This’ll throw the calibration out in terms of the zero point in relation to the number scale and thus it’ll be much courser at the zero point now than it originally would’ve been. It would’ve been fine if the grinder was 're-zeroed' afterwards but that wasn’t shown in this video. We’re trying to use these videos as a tool for the less experienced baristas in the cafe that I work at and sometimes in this instance this would cause miscalibration and even more confusion..

We recommend 800-1250 kilos but will depend on the roast of coffee you use.

We would recommend a deep clean and also inspect the burrs. If you are still having issues please contact a local engineer for assistance. Thank you
