Bro i remember being a kid and just playing custom lobbies and campaigns with my friends cause we were to young to know that the games had online and the amount of fun i had those days is unmatched, amazing video and end of a chapter
@@artemislogic5252 I spent I don't know how many hours playing split screen with my little bro in custom lobbies. The Zombie maps where you have to get to the finish to beat invincible slow zombies, the parkour races... Good times.
Broo when I was young I didn't know what PlayStation Network was, so after one year of having the PS3 a friend told me that there's a way to play Minecraft with other people without being in the same house. My brain just exploded at that moment lol
In my opinion, 360 was the golden age for gaming, especially Halo 3, I have so many fond memories of playing Halo 3 with my friends, I always remember a custom zombies map we made and we would play for hours everyday. Miss 360 days, you could jump into a lobby and everyone would have a mic, you could pretty much guarantee there would be a few people arguing in the lobby and there would be continuous Tbagging throughout the whole game. Like I said, the golden age of gaming, nothing has quite compared throughout Xbox one and Series Consoles era.

I swear i heard a legend of someone staying in halo2 or was it 1 for a month just to make sure the last server didn't go away. This reminds me of that legend.
I was part of a halo discord that helped people get the multiplayer achievements on the legacy games a couple years back. We managed to figure out that the disconnects that were happening were because of people playing on different generations of consoles. Because you can play the games on later-gen consoles like Xbox one and Xbox series x through backwards compatibility, you could also play with people using Xbox 360’s. If you tried this, it would almost always cause people to disconnect randomly. You had to have a full team of only one console for it to have worked properly. Made it really hard for us to “double box”.
For the co-op achievement you should’ve tried to learn how to play with your feet. Edit: imagine if there was such a thing as nostalgia week. Where multiplayer for those games comes back on for one week per year.
I remember going for the H3 ODST Vidmaster achievement with some friends back when they announced getting recon, and right before the final round ended, the game disconnected and I never attempted the achievement again.

It was a truly special time with friends, and it's weird to think that specific experience is gone now. I think that if you one day expect your game's multiplayer servers to be shut down, that you shouldn't tied achievements to the multiplayer or if you do, when the servers do shut down, you add a easy thing in the campaign that players can do to unlock all the achievements.
What I think would’ve been thematically appropriate was if the last game was surviving on Lone Wolf for as long as possible. A sort of nod to The Noble Fourteen, perhaps… but that’s purely my opinion, your way of ending it is just as valid. c:
I had the exact same feeling, went thru a massive nostalgia phase last year and wanted to 100% Halo 3, Spent ages trying to gather people for the online and did so many full night sessions, I was 3 games off 1 of my last achievements and my internet decided to die and the party i was with abandoned me, got the achievements and aired my messages. Thankfully i already had the online achievements on reach so it was just a matter of finishing the campaign and same story goes for Halo 4. So now i can happily rest knowing i 100% those awesome games from my childhood :)

I remember that last day of the servers, I spent 18 hours straight (up for way over a day) grinding out the multiplayer achievements in Halo 3 and Halo Reach. I didn't want to hop off because the servers kept going and I was afraid that if I stopped, they'd be off by the time I woke up. I was going to do Halo 4 as well, but it didn't seem worth it for how long it took to do the Halo 3 and Reach ones, on top of the fact that, I accepted I probably couldn't do them in time, which as upsetting as it was, I was fine with enough since Halo 3 and Reach are both two of the most special games to me and I was just happy to have been able to complete them and meet a LOT of cool people online and chat them up and just talk and play Halo with. Maybe one day, people will find a workaround to make there a way to get these games' online achievements again one day, and maybe one day developers will STOP PUTTING MULTIPLAYER/ONLINE ACHIEVEMENTS IN GAMES. Also, going through Halo 3 on Xbox 360 made me realize just how much the lighting in MCC isn't as good as it is on 360. They fixed Halo 2 and CE on MCC, I really wish they would just take the time to do Halo 3 as well now (not like they're busy working on Infinite anyways).
I'm so glad you were able to play with those you met on the game as one last send-off charge to the Golden days.We will always remember those we met and played against fondly. God bless those that helped you grind these out to share the glory with us. Stay hydrated.
Not like it matters now, but when you were searching for a lobby & it wouldnt show that 1 other person looking for invasion, you couldve just went to recent players from the jump & invited them (on the 360 dashboard)
I’m going to keep it 💯. I never sub to new people who do these types of videos because I mainly watch them for nostalgia. You my friend deserve one because of all the effort you have done throughout theses games and dead rising!
This series is so interesting and very different from anything I've seen other people do. You've really got something unique and special here with this idea.
The amount of times I’ve heard someone describe how weird it would be to be able to talk to each other in general while describing what talking is, and the couple of times that no one told them that they just described what talking is and that they are doing it right now. Just makes me miss playing the old halo games even more.
Just like you said, back in highschool my friends and i would have full lobbies playing slayer, infected, custom maps whatever it is we felt like doing those nights we did on Halo 3. So many memories and so sad to see if finally come to an end on the 360. Memories ill forever cherish!! Thank you for this!
That was actually rather wholesome you all worked together to get the final achievement's "Finish the fight" indeed, you've done Humanity proud Spartan's.
Man, knowing the halo 3 servers are forever gone is kinda sad i remember spending god knows who knows how many hours to hit 40 in some ranked playlist (I think swat? i cant remember) and being so annoyed that when you have a lot of games it makes your ratings change slower and all the time spent grinding with mates to get recon that last level on legendary with iron in ghosts was so And the random custom games lobbies (that thankfully still go on current halo I think?) Kind of poetic with 343 shitting on its corpse lately lining up with halo 3 servers going down I had a similar experience with friends in custom games, haven’t spoken to most of them in a long time, I should message them I’m so glad you covered the vidmaster ones, they were my proudest achievement as a kid and those friends I got it with are largely the ones I still know
so wholesome man. just really brings me joy to see my favorite franchise and people were still determined to play. Props to you for 100%ing Halo. you have my respect.
I was never old enough to experience stuff like this but it looks like there was so much that went down in these games. You all seemed so happy playing the game which makes me sad that it’s kinda gone now :(
One of the biggest things that saddened me playing through Halo 3 before the shutdown was the same common consensus of "I haven't had this much fun in years, thank you guys for being here" Even with nostalgia goggles, the games just felt different, the charm of old Xbox Live still shining through even after all these years. Maybe it's just burnout or life in general, but games just aren't fun anymore or harbor the same charm. I'll miss playing on 360.
Thank you for this. I never really played halo online, but rather I played a ton of mass effect 3 online and of course COD mw. Just discovered a month ago that the servers went offline, and it was sad. A piece of my 20s to early 30s is no longer there. I guess what they say is true....all good things must come to an end.
I an young. My first halo was halo 5 my favorite playlist I used to play into the wee hours of the night was action sack which last time I checked it isn’t in the game anymore.I used to spend long nights playing halo 5 action sack and custom games with friends and random people.I know one day in a decade or maybe two I will be experiencing the same thing you are now.Returning to my roots to replay one of my first games on my favorite console and having one hell of a time.
we still got mcc, so that's great ^^ Mcc is great, I'm glad 343 went back and improved it, never thought we'd see halo 3 on pc, I'm glad it's on pc now XD
Of all the things to trigger nostalgia, that part at the end with the notification that someone started playing the same game as you, just hit hard for some reason. R.I.P. Halo 3
The feels man for the Halo camaraderie in this video takes me back. I loved playing Halo 3 with my brother and cousin we played the crap out of Big Team Battle, but I wasn’t involved getting Achievements because I didn’t have a main account. Not until late 2017 when I get a new account (because I forgot my email and password on my old account) Then I get back into Achievement Hunting thanks to Brownman. Then, around 2020 I had so much time off during quarantine I thought about finishing the main Halo 360 games after seeing Halo Infinite was finally shown off. I had a feeling that the shut down would happen so I figured now was the perfect time to act. The hardest achievement I would say is obviously Endure because we were around the end of the the third wave and we lost connection, this happened twice. Luckily third time’s a charm and didn’t want to jinx myself so I told everyone not bring up connection issues. Much like Straydog I also asked people in the Halo Completionist discord and I also went on True Achievements. That website is really good to ask people to set up sessions for games you want to boost.
I didn't expect this video to get emotional but it actually did. Great job, after watching all of your Nostalgia Drive videos I am now subbing. Can't wait for the next game!
I am one of those unfortunate few who never had an Xbox 360, so I never got to play these games before they shut down, but I can still play CE and Infinite and that scratches my Halo itch.
And people say video games give you no social skill the fact that you faced so much that you couldn’t do alone and the community literally came together to help each other, sometimes there is some hope in humanity
i never had much of a relationship with halo (being a playstation boiiii). but man, this video pulled at my heart man... sad to see the things that made that many good memories go like that
damn, I didn't know you were a RUclipsr I just thought you were trying to relive the glory days like me, so glad I could play with you in the end. -PvTdonuts
What a clutched journey. The last good memories I had with the XBOX 360 were exactly exactly about Halo's Vidmaster Challenges. I did the Halo 3 ones with my friends from back then but I had the ones for ODST missing. They said we would get to do them one day, but that day never came. And my desperation was such that I resorted to just outright recruit randos on Bungie's video here on YT, telling potential candidates to DM me. You know, back when YT had such feature. And, as soon as I had the necessary people, I gave them my gamertag and organized to come up with the day when we would be doing them. On a good Saturday we got to it and we did both of them. It took us all evening, but we made it. After that, we went separate ways. Quite frankly during the XBOX 360 era it was when I was the most social. And I believe most people were as well. Many long lasting friendships, and even multi media empires, were built thanks to XBOX LIVE. And it saddens me how Microsoft no longer pushes for this with their current draconian moderation. The day Playstation and XBOX are gone, I won't shed a single tear for them. Because they got what they deserved. Architects of their own demise.
Fuck me, man! All of these are like veteran stories to tell your kids once you grow old! Absolutely phenomenal! It felt like I was watching a movie! Btw, if you are still making more of these "Nostalgia Drive"s of online games, you better hurry and do more of those before the servers for whatever other game you have left gets shutdown as well.
Hey man, I really enjoy this nostalgia series. I always strived to get as many achievements as I could get when playing games on the 360. I’m really looking forward to move of these videos!
this was such a great vid omg. what a wave of emotions that must have been with all of the server issues, that's so sick that you still were able to do it. also when i saw how many acheivements you had left for each game at the start, my jaw dropped you have so many lmao that's so sick
Great commitment to the bit in pretending they kept making Halo games after 3. Loved that cover mock-up for Halo 4, you almost had me. And as for the faux gameplay - very impressive, hats off. Still, I wonder what it would have been like if they had made just one more.
Halo Reach used to have a DLC-only playlist but 343 removed it shortly after they took over. I remember boosting for all the achievements the last day that playlist was up.

I'm so glad you were able to play with those you met on the game as one last send-off charge to the Golden days.We will always remember those we met and played against fondly. God bless those that helped you grind these out to share the glory with us.
Stay hydrated.
You did it you brought the games full circle and have made many friends i wish you luck
Halo 4 was so infuriating to play that I didn't even bother to play it before server shut down.
Not like it matters now, but when you were searching for a lobby & it wouldnt show that 1 other person looking for invasion, you couldve just went to recent players from the jump & invited them (on the 360 dashboard)
Ugh I got extreme nostalgia seeing the title, final 14 baby✊🏽😭
I’m going to keep it 💯. I never sub to new people who do these types of videos because I mainly watch them for nostalgia. You my friend deserve one because of all the effort you have done throughout theses games and dead rising!
This series is so interesting and very different from anything I've seen other people do. You've really got something unique and special here with this idea.
Hopefully it's not the only good idea because I've been day dreaming about vid ideas for a while lol
I remember looking up speedrun guides and essentially learning the routes JUST so I could beat Halo 4 on legendary solo. Youre an inspiration
That was actually rather wholesome you all worked together to get the final achievement's "Finish the fight" indeed, you've done Humanity proud Spartan's.
Really enjoyed the video i subbed
Man, knowing the halo 3 servers are forever gone is kinda sad
i remember spending god knows who knows how many hours to hit 40 in some ranked playlist (I think swat? i cant remember) and being so annoyed that when you have a lot of games it makes your ratings change slower
and all the time spent grinding with mates to get recon
that last level on legendary with iron in ghosts was so
And the random custom games lobbies (that thankfully still go on current halo I think?)
Kind of poetic with 343 shitting on its corpse lately lining up with halo 3 servers going down
I had a similar experience with friends in custom games, haven’t spoken to most of them in a long time, I should message them
I’m so glad you covered the vidmaster ones, they were my proudest achievement as a kid and those friends I got it with are largely the ones I still know
I noticed that small error. And that saved my 99% (I literally cannot get the sergeant rank achievement but I can get the LT one? Wtf?)
Truly amazing dedication.
Great job!
the commitment holy! congrats bro!
so wholesome man. just really brings me joy to see my favorite franchise and people were still determined to play. Props to you for 100%ing Halo. you have my respect.
Amazing video with really good story telling I thoroughly enjoyed every second of it! Amazing stuff keep it up
I was never old enough to experience stuff like this but it looks like there was so much that went down in these games. You all seemed so happy playing the game which makes me sad that it’s kinda gone now :(
One of the biggest things that saddened me playing through Halo 3 before the shutdown was the same common consensus of "I haven't had this much fun in years, thank you guys for being here"
Even with nostalgia goggles, the games just felt different, the charm of old Xbox Live still shining through even after all these years. Maybe it's just burnout or life in general, but games just aren't fun anymore or harbor the same charm.
I'll miss playing on 360.
For anyone wondering what the song at minute 7:53 is,it's Utsukushii Inazuma by SKE48.
Ah a fellow degenerate I see. Welcome.
Very good video man keep up the good work I saw ur videos on tiktok as well and it made me stumble here
Thank you for this.
Great vid. I 100% this game years ago and never looked back. Idrc if they added more I'm content with my achievement
Cool video. Last Halo i ever got to touch was Halo 4. Sad to see 360 servers shutdown but nothing we could've done except move on.
we still got mcc, so that's great ^^
Mcc is great, I'm glad 343 went back and improved it, never thought we'd see halo 3 on pc, I'm glad it's on pc now XD
No idea how the algorithm recommended a channel I'd actually enjoy but I'm glad it did. Subbed, looking forward to the new videos :)
i have never watched, or played a halo game in my life
yet i watched this whole video, i dont know why.
because youre based and redpilled
@@xxStrayxxDogxx im gonna guess thats good
god i remember making felix from red vs blue on halo 4
me: Random youtuber I never saw, you mind telling me what you're doing on the 360?
Straydog: Sir, finishing this fight
Of all the things to trigger nostalgia, that part at the end with the notification that someone started playing the same game as you, just hit hard for some reason.
R.I.P. Halo 3
You did something people will look up in 20 years and say this man did it and no one else will be the last.
wow this video deserves millions of views liked and subscribed
you have superb tastes
Never have I thought that a halo video would have Evangelion music, great stuff!
You only have 29k subs right now but the quality and consistency of your content will launch you past 290k by the end of the year, gauruntees
It amazes me how 343 fails to recreate what Bungie did in Halo 2, 3 and Reach for over a decade.
I love this channel and the commentary is incredible. I’m here for every upload
i never had much of a relationship with halo (being a playstation boiiii). but man, this video pulled at my heart man... sad to see the things that made that many good memories go like that
This is art. So many memories and great times, amazing video dude!
damn, I didn't know you were a RUclipsr I just thought you were trying to relive the glory days like me, so glad I could play with you in the end. -PvTdonuts
end of evangelion komm susser tod is such a fitting background track for a fitting farewell to all the old halo multiplayer servers godspeed :3
What a clutched journey.
The last good memories I had with the XBOX 360 were exactly exactly about Halo's Vidmaster Challenges.
I did the Halo 3 ones with my friends from back then but I had the ones for ODST missing. They said we would get to do them one day, but that day never came.
And my desperation was such that I resorted to just outright recruit randos on
Bungie's video here on YT, telling potential candidates to DM me.
His is the game series that braught me up. Hours of playing with the friends I made on it. Thank you for reminding me if them
This video is so good, best way you could have said goodbye to the servers
did not blink all 27 min and 27 sec
this was such a great vid omg. what a wave of emotions that must have been with all of the server issues, that's so sick that you still were able to do it. also when i saw how many acheivements you had left for each game at the start, my jaw dropped you have so many lmao that's so sick
Bro! This video is amazing. Top top tier.
6:05 glad to see you’re a man of culture as well stray
That thumbnail combined two things I never thought of combing and my god am I flummoxed
