The neon reflections on these classics are mesmerizing and the garage as a whole is a work of art, unto itself.

The only car more beautiful than my black on black 1957 Chevy Belair was a 1957 Pontiac convertible laying two black streaks down the street in 1958. It was a fantastic time to be a teenager!

16:36 in I see a “Pontiac authorized service” neon sign. On that sign is the Chief, branded on the Pontiac Fire Chief. I had access to a 1956 fire chief, I think the outside was red and the inside was red and white… This is going back to 1997 so I have a vague memory, but brought that up because I was curious if you were ever thinking of adding a Pontiac Fire Chief to your collection? The other Pontiac you showed had similar characteristics, only you had those glass like fender accents above the headlights where as the Pontiac Chief has “The Chief“ on the hood. I never even heard the car before somebody paid to store that vehicle in my families RV garage in Northridge California, so again, just looking at the history and of what you have and what I’ve seen that compares and how you said they were limited to colors and that was pretty much the color combination that this was. Though this wasn’t nearly as restored as yours, even the back windows needed assistance while closing. Anyways, would love to see a fire chief in your collection. Thoughts?

Wow. I watched both parts. What an amazing collection. Even the cars i'm not "into" are stunning. I have never seen a DeTomaso Vallelunga, Kip gives a great explanation of these cars. That Sunliner would be a 401 horsepower.... beautiful. The FI 57 Pontiac is amazing, the Caddys are too... that Porsche tractor... the gas pumps, the piano, the neon...even the floor! sheesh.

Wow Kip, all your cars are such beautiful examples, and bring back such happy memories! My grandparents had Beetles (my mum tells me whenever I saw one I'd tell out 'Granny Car!', though I don't remember that .. I was about two!) You also know SO much about each and every one of them, including all of their individual histories! Loved this tour so much! When I visit California next I plan to go to some car shows, especially everything that goes on at Monterey Car Week, where with any luck I'll get to see one or more of your cars up close! Thanks so much for sharing, and thanks also, as always, to everyone at the Petersen Museum! Take care, from Stevie in Australia! 😄 .. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 ...

The Continental series from ‘61-‘64 remained relatively unchanged, except in ‘62 when the front grille was redesigned. The ‘65 was the Entourage car, and JFK rode in a ‘62 with the front grille swopped out with one from the ‘63. My personal favourite is the ‘62, not entirely because of its ties to Camelot, but because it became the true baseline for elegance. It’s not only one of the technologically advanced vehicles of its time, its also a work of art.

When a comment came in about the 61 Continental being the most expensive car....the Rolls Royce was exactly the same price amazingly...so I heard...don't quote me :)

James Terrill thanks, for mentioning.. my Purdue University car was a 1961 GALAXIE Ford **red/convertible white top/352 / 4BBL/ AUTO( unfortunately) in 1965-67: worn out, bad,et rusted & poor Body & bondo work: though I enjoyed it, had to,get a 66 GALAXIE XL 4 SPD/352/4 BBL: I improved it considerably( METALLIC BRAKES/tires/COOLANT RECOVERY ETC), though falling apart by 160000 ? Did your 61 GALAXIE HOLD UP WELL?

It's not "britz"... it's Biarritz... "bya-ritz" that's a town in south west france.... Cadillac is a town in south west france. It should be pronounced "cadiyac" by the way, but at this point the brand name has its own identity with the american "cadilac" pronounciation as if it was a single L

Stevie's In Da House! Sorry but what does your answer has to do with my statement? I'm just explaining how that trim is supposed to be called because he skipped letters. His cars are in absolute concourse mint condition it's absolutely incredible to see those interiors and engine bays. You might want to chill a bit, not too sure how you saw that as a personal attack to the man, the quality of his restaurations, his collection or anything. Also.. why are you hiding behind his back? If you want an Epenis contest on what's in the garage... you're the one calling out and that should tell me what's so great about what you own instead of pretending that this collection is a bit yours too because you seem to know the guy. You're a brainless fanboy. Try learning nuances between black and white.
