Adelaide is the Los Angeles of the south- or at least a micro-mini representation. The beauty of Adelaide is only restricted to CBD core- once you are out exploring, most of the time you will be smacked with acres of non-descript suburban sprawl, with car sales yards and strip malls competing for your attention. Squint hard enough, the whole of Adelaide’s larger metropolitan area could easily be a cameo for San Fernando Valley- to complete the illusion, in your mindscape just pluck out all the palm trees and replace them with gum trees-there you have it, San Fernando Valley of the South.
Totally agree with you. I was born there, but family moved to Melbourne in the late 1960s. Every year I’d go back as a kid. Staying with relatives and family friends. Have such amazing memories. Beaches, drives and fast foods. Remember all those take away roast chicken rotisseries!
What’s a load of 💩 born and bread haven’t been back to live in 40 years. Every time I go back i Remember why I left. And it’s way worse than ever before. Everything that was good about Adelaide has totally being destroyed
