Welcome to Summitridge Drive. In this video we showcase both pictures and video of this $46,500,000 modern mansion in Beverly Hills. This home is by Whipple Russell Architects, whom we have presented earlier.
The Summitridge house is a creative collaboration between architect Marc Whipple and Troy Adams of Troy Adams Design, who served as project manager and interior designer. Both enjoyed the process immensely, and this distinctive house is certainly evidence of a successful partnership.
It all begins with the land and its orientation to the views. The property is a flat hourglass shape on top of a ridge with steep slopes on two sides, so the shape guided the positioning of the house. It has a beautiful view to the west on the left, and looking down to the south, of canyons and the city.

I always found this to be such an odd house. Very beautiful, of course. But...a very small master closet for the price-point. And only one washer/dryer room near the garbage? Okay. That's weird. And inconvenient, unless one enjoys watching the help drag the laundry down to the bottom floor. And no home office, unless that purpose is relegated to the "guest house". And having a glass elevator open to the master bedroom...no thanks. No workout Facilities, no spa, no sauna, no chef's kitchen, etc.... I guess this house was built to be a party showplace and not a place to actually be lived in as a primary residence. Still, a beautiful place.
