    Girl-life is different from guy-life. Talking about fun, he has said it the way it is. Majority of us live in a straight line home-shift. Flexing isn't lack of seriousness. The UK lacks work-life balance.

    • @FaithOjone
      @FaithOjone  7 месяцев назад

      I don't know about your organization but mine forces me to take a break after working for some time, and there's a limit to overtime work. There's a new law they will introduce in April is to encourage work-life balance

    • @chineduolisa74
      @chineduolisa74 7 месяцев назад +6

      @FaithOjone You are applying your situation to majority. Most Nigerians who came in the past 2 years are on a shift related, mostly minimum wage job and work extra hours to make ends meet with little social life. You don't have to be a VDM fan but what he said is the truth. Your point is similar to Nigerians working in multinational companies in Lagos with paid vacation saying that brick layers are not prioritising work life balance.

      @@FaithOjoneyou are speaking for yourself and your own situation. Most immigrants who came into the country in the last two to three years are struggling and that's a fact. If you have a permanent well-paying job without children or dependents, your case would be much different from so many who came in with student visas and children, working minimum wage jobs, and have to double up to meet bills and rent. Please he is not very far from the truth because what is the percentage of immigrants with well-paying professional jobs? most are just at the bottom of the pyramid. so don't shut out his opinion, it's the reality of so many immigrants here.

      @@Chuwalker I agree 👍🏿 with you! Everyone's story is different. trust me the struggle touch everybody regardless of the visa you come with. Because I struggle I am just finding balance a little

    Half the time he doesn’t make sense to be honest . He’s very “good” at generalising on so many issues.
    And I don’t get it… don’t people work in Nigeria!??
    Some people have to work the “off time” shifts in the UK, and that’s why the country works.
    But of course there are several people that work the regular 9-5 jobs and are available weekend.
    I think a lot of people are able to find their fun in the UK and do what works for them.
    I personally know people that live the naija social scene kind of life in this UK, but me personally, even in Nigeria, I never was the going out type. So nothing has changed really…

    • @FaithOjone

    • @ugbeneumari9370

      Exactly, he forgot that what makes fun for people is relative. What makes fun for you might not be fun for someone else. Even if you bring all of those things he is hyping to some of us it makes no sense. So as much as those things are not evil in themselves not everyone takes those things serious.
      My problem is that he is very limited in his assertions

    What the guy said is true. I visited the UK from America and the UK is even worse than America but both of them are not countries where people are happy, black people especially are miserable and over working themselves to barely scrape by. The difference is in America and the UK if you don’t overwork you literally end up homeless and on your own, whereas in Nigeria you have support. No one is talking about drinking out or partying but actually living. The ease of life in Africa is far better. The UK is a rat race especially now since it’s in recession.

    • @israeldare3825
      @israeldare3825 6 месяцев назад

      Most of you people saying in Nigeria you have support have left Nigeria at least 5yrs ago. You don't know what's going on right now. Nobody is supporting anything. The struggle is your and yours alone before the economic situation had hit everyone except you are solid. So if you don't have rich friends, you'll suffer here. The one he's saying that there is fun in Nigeria is for those who have riches. No fun anything, people are getting depressed here. Students dropping out of university because of sudden increase in tuition. VDM doesn't speak for all, he's talking about his own circle from his own bubble. There is no fun anything here if you don't have cash. See first class graduates staying at home for years after graduation no job. Smh

    • @shanghaichica
      @shanghaichica 6 месяцев назад

      Well people in the UK have their own families for support. Don’t generalise.
      Also remember there is government benefits for UK citizens that don’t work. When they don’t work they get benefits and their rent paid.

  • @naijagurlandherpops

    Hes right to an extent though. It can really get boring over there but to be fair, life is really what you make of it. I remember my first trip to the Uk. I honestly couldnt wait to return back home. it felt so so boring but that was cause i didnt have the money to "faaji" nor to travel around to visit friends. But now that im married and with kids and with a better perspective to life, i know i want something better for myself and family than my home country can offer at this point... the question really is, does vdm think people are in the uk to faaji? And he should never say never o. Na so me sef dey talk that time 😂🤣

    I had the most fun I ever did while living in the UK. London is full of many fun things to do. People go to pubs to chill after work, but as a man of culture like I am, I went to musicals and I also joined a theatre troupe. There are many things to do. Also it sounds like everyone he knows is doing menial jobs

    • @FaithOjone

    • @Nkem_O

    • @catherineattah7208
      @catherineattah7208 7 месяцев назад

      We tend to associate shifts to menial jobs..Nurses, Doctors, Social workers, physiotherapists customer service etc all works shifts. Even guys in tech have to do extra hours over weekends too.
      If he had a life in the UK, he wouldn't have sounded the way he did. People have to work to get money then flex unlike Naija, where you can be jobless and tag along to every event😂
