Thank you for so much detail! It’s VERY hard to find artists who give this level of detail. So glad I found you!
FYI the tub sharpener has 2 measuring holes for different applications. You don't need to use both to sharpen your tip. One is for sharp (drawing) the other is for blunt (writing).
Great tip! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Tanner, Lots of good tips with the best for last. Drawing "with expression" is priceless.
I agree. The kneaded eraser is very useful.
I usually get more than one because graphite accumulates on the eraser and turns it very dark.
I feel that this reduces its effectiveness.
I like a clean eraser!
I think there's a way to clean it! I saw a short once. I'll give it a try and let you know how it goes.
very precious sketchbook page, thank you, subscribed just now
really loved the storytelling approach to explain uses of each item.
I'm glad you enjoyed it. Tune in next week 2pm MTN std for a livestream. I may be drawing next week.
Damn, im getting humbled so patiently. Love you man, great video.
Thanks for those great tips! I´ve been drawing for ages and I´m self-taught, but I always had the feeling that I wasn´t using these tools properly. Your video was really helpful!😊
Fantastic, I'm glad this helped!
I use 2H and 2B. For areas were want things really dark I will use a Mitsubishi Uni dark pencil, like a 4B-8B. If i want a nice shaded area I will use a woodless graphite pencil.
Excellent!
So much detail that nobody talks about. I dont even draw, still watching these beautifully explained new things.
Great video, thank you so much.
My pleasure!
Thank you for your time
My pleasure! Thanks for watching.
Thank you so much!
My pleasure!
Your videos are so instructive. They need to get more attention.
Thank you so much! When I return from Italy in 2 weeks. Expect more content!
Awesome!!!
Thank you!
Thank you so much for explaining the correct way to use a lead pointer. They don't come with instructions (or I lost them) and I've been using them incorrectly for years.
Thank you!!
No, THANK YOU for watching!
Excellent vidéo!
Thank you for watching!
Excellent 👌🏽
Thank you!
Excellent video very informative !
Notice those orange clamps to hold your sketchbook pages together where did you buy them ?
Those are exactly what am looking for.
Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge !
Most hardware stores will carry them. I believe I picked mine up at Home Depot near the power tools
The 1st hole on the lead pointer is for sharpening to a blunter point. But I get why you would use that side first seeing that you're using a harder grade lead. Personally I can draw with anything harder than HB.
Good
Very good video. Thanks for that. Can you please provide a link to the paper you use?

Nice video ! The lead pointer looks great ! A good thing to remember : B is black (darker) ! Do you only have 1 Staedler pencil or several with different graphite thickness or you change graphite while working ?
Nice one
:)
Hi Tanner! The quality of your videos is amazing 🔥 what camera are you using?
Thank you! I'm using the sont zv1
Hi Tanner. With graphite works is it always necessary to use a fixative? Thanks for this vid by the way.
The graphite can smudge or fall off the paper over time, so I choose to use fixative just in case.
What easel are you using for your sketchbook?
The fly on the wall by prolific painter.
heeey handsome tanner
u got it dude haha lol
exceletente Maestro
"the one that comes with the Staedtler lead holder"
This is inaccurate. The lead pointer that "comes with" the lead holder is actually the thing on the back of the lead holder. It has a hole on it, that's a sharpener.
The lead pointer you displayed is a separate purchase around 10 dollars.
Ah yes, yes it is. The sharpener is definitely worth the investment!
Why do people call graphite in pencils lead
“pencil lead” is due to an historic association with the stylus made of lead in ancient Roman times.
@@tannersteedart interesting
Wish you had captions, can not hear you, dude
Are you a teacher or saleman?
A teacher with product reccomendations for my students
This video makes me sad you look 90% like one of my best friends from back in the day. Haven't spoken with him in the better part of a decade. Damn time goes fast.
I'm sorry, I hope your friend and you are doing well.
