I know this was posted years ago but I had to comment to say that this was the best youtube video intro I’ve seen in a while haha! Thank you for the lovely video 🤍
Thank you for the help. I am a new graphite artist, but a longtime watercolor artist. Nice to hear that I can use some of my watercolor supplies in my new medium.
I got to remember that Bristol 500 paper. But You should do a paint / whisper asmr! Your voice with the movements of paper in this was relaxing. Goosebumps every time you roll tap your finger nails on the pads/books🙏✨👋😎👍
I found in my experience the paper that is just regular smooth white printer paper is much better for graphite pencils if I intend to apply different degrees of shading. Before I intuitively mistakenly thought that rougher surface paper was going to be better for pencils because there is more friction etc. But when shading is done on rougher paper I cannot make very smooth application of graphite because all the imperfections on the paper become visible as small “grain” or “dots”. Basically shading makes the rough unevenness visible.
👍🖐dear friend great seeing you again. You look warm and cozy. Great of you to take time and give nice tips on papers and supplies. You are always so encouraging. Have a great day take care💕
you all prolly dont give a shit but does anybody know of a method to get back into an Instagram account..? I was stupid forgot my password. I would love any assistance you can give me
I'm a bit concerned that Arches watercolour paper and some others don't say archival, but do say ph neutral and 100% cotton. Also, I thought Arches is Canson. Don't know much about paper as of yet.
@@LengyelArt Your answer does help, although not sure why you put "archival quality" in quotes. I appreciate your response! Strange though that all the buying up of Canson by other companies, you'd figure that the name Canson would get lost along the way. It didn't get lost as the name Canson is probably on the back of your Arches watercolour pad in this video. One does wonder if the quality of the Arches paper has changed through time due to changing of company ownerships. Tkx again and your drawing is great! Love mountain lions both in nature and in art.
If I'm not wrong, it is the acid of wood pulp - if not modified - that makes paper not archival. With 100% acid free cotton paper you should have arcival quality.
This is some really good advice! A very good video! Thanks for sharing. I have liked and subscribed. I make art tutorials. Let's try to support each other!

Yea its odd because all the charcoal and graphite papers have thick tooth and it shows through too much. I even prefer smooth with charcoal
