It’s amazing how Tokelauan is similar to my language, Samoan. It’s literally the same exact sentence structure and vocabulary just a few letters off (which can change it completely). But I understand what she’s saying clearly in Tokelauan. Also the word “aulelei” means beautiful/handsome/pretty in Samoan too as I thought that Samoan was the only Polynesian language that says it like that. Now I know Tokelauan does too 👍🏼
wierd question and i hope its okay to ask but could you write down what she said not the english but the tokelauan sentence ? i get it if you rather don't do that .. its just that is such a beautiful sentence that i want to write it down
Tokelauan here 😅 Na Maua e au te loto lelei mate mana mai ki latou Na ako mai e ona mea lelei ve ko te Moana Ma te fakamalohi ve ko te moana Ma leleiga moni e mai ite loto Hope this helps

I'm in love with this. Showing the essence of Pacific/Polynesian dance and beauty from our Women. It's so important we carry our ancestral lands wherever we go in this world. Thank you Olivia.
Aulelei means beautiful! Love the performance! Olivia who is Tokelaun and Moemoana who is Samoan. Gorgeous ladies, keep doing what you’re doing! Really inspiring.
I am from Bulgaria,so far from Polinesia, but i fell in love with that dance horeography . Amazing, wonderful music, awesome dance and beautiful people .
polynesians are truly the most beautiful people out there. the dance, food, figure, voices and language. although i am mixed and look awfully white 😂 i will never hesitate to embrace my cook islander side. (tahitian, cook island, french)
same with me bro haha, I'm hawaiin, maori and japanese as well as irish and scottish and maybe american samoan but yeah I'm not like brown or anything but I always am proud of who I am and all that. chehuuu!! 808 baby!!
Beautiful young Polynesian women! I love the cultures across the islands. Each unique and each a treasure. Thank you for the gift of your beauty and grace.
I’m from Boston and from the West Indies my ancestors are Arawak and maroon/Moors. I wish to meet a curvy Polynesian one day 🤞I love the Polynesian and Maori culture, family value and honor.
@@Capo9LL it's been gloomy these past weeks and getting cooler here and there. We're just now getting a hint to winter. Otherwise it's been scorching the entire year and we had a red tide issue again for months and they dump sewage in the everglades and our beaches so I womt step foot in the water. It's been almost 2 years now...shame. But that's our government for ya March 15th
I'm from Mali, same here. I'm living in Australia and been exposed to different cultures, I really learnt so much about people(the World) and honestly this Culture, became a favourite. I'm Muslim but been going to Maori church, just for the fun and not forget that I love what they serve me, Good food. I appreciate their dance. I cry always watching people dancing it, at festivals and other. And that s how a Maori lady approached me, one day and hugged, kissed and she said to me, this song you are crying on is a healing song, you are responding to it, that means that you are being healed😍🥰😍😍she said. infact yeah that was true. She took my number and invited me to her church. It s a very powerful and healing dance.
When she spoke at the start you can just hear how similar all the polynesian countries are especially Tongan, Samoan and Hawaiian. Eventually all these polys migrated to other islands and made their own language. The polynesian community is beautiful. Even I being tongan can recognize the similarity between the Hawaiian language and all the other ones
Hawaiian is closer to Tahitian and Marquesan than Tongan or Samoan considering Hawaii was settled by Marquesans and Tahitians who would later become the Hawaiian people. And the Hawaiian archipelago was around the last to be settled.
Part of the art of dance is to tell a story or show the life of the people. this not only did that but could make someone fall in love with the people just watching the grace and beauty shown in their dace. Not to talk about how stunning they are! I may show this on my show some night about dance from another culture!
That sounds really cool! I might just add that the entire choreography is a blend of dances from the Polynesian Islands: Tahiti, Samoa, Tonga & Cook Islands. Just a little fyi for your audience that they might like?
You are so graceful, Olivia... I understand now why Japanese wanted these islands in the Pacific during WWII 😍😍😍 #pearlharbor #battleofmarcus #battleofwake #battleofmidway #battleofguadalcanal #battleofsantacruz
I'm a Caribbean islander and the first time I saw the haka, I thought it was 🔥... now I'm loving this too! What is this called?? ❤ from the Virgin Islands to the Pacific Islands!
Their contemporary dance is a mixture of tamure the Tokelauean traditional dance and the other piece is called an ailao whern they're dancing with that spear like wood, it's a traditional Samoan dance.
The choreography and work you put forth is amazing. You should go GLOBAL! Take a dancer from major cultures because every culture has a very special and beautiful lakalaka to share? Maybe we could be globally united too Aloha. I love the work you do please contiue💕
I was so excited when the notification came across but I had chores to do. It was killing me! But I finally got to watch and as usual it was breathtaking and beautiful! Not long enough though LOL. Great job ladies! 💚
I love the title of this vid. "Aulelei." Which means "Beautiful" in Samoan. I really enjoy the choreography of this awesome video. Thanks for job well done, Livy!👍👍✌😘🌺💖☺
Both are amazing but I am so captivated by Moemoana. She has such charisma and her siva afi skills were highlighted with this choreography. Much alofas to you both.
The language has to be Tokelauan because, as a Samoan, I can understand more than 95% of what is being said here. I think Tokelauan is the closest related language to Samoan. Some say it’s another dialect of the Samoan language, but either way, it’s still Tokelauan. Wednesday - February 3, 2021.
So inspiring and attractive these young women are, yes true beauty does comes from the heart, wonderful seeing others with true roots of culture, here in the west culture is so often a thing begged, borrowed, stolen or made up, and beauty so often being only skin deep.....too and true there are those who do shine bright the beauty of the heart and once one wakes up to the differance between the two it becomes obvious at a quick glance...
Неплохо, костюмы, музыка в тему, фигуры хорошие, лица красивые. Может быть использована в качестве заставки или рекламы. Лайк конечно. Если бы ещё часть копья были настоящие, но это опасно даже с затупленным лезвием.
