@@noblamemepls The G-series transmission that came with the older HiACE models was notoriously forgiving due to how easily it shifted and how wide the contact envelope was for the clutch to grab. As well as the transient being surprisingly good for a drivetrain so light
There’s also the fact that they’re simultaneously quite robust yet flexible. So when driving on level ground you can shift without operating the clutch, even at low engine rpm. Though as a mechanic, I should stress that it still isn’t good and you should refrain from doing so despite the memes. The second gear will be the first to suffer, which sucks because it’s way better for putting around than first (though this is obviously just personal preference)

Master the bite point and you will master most of driving a manual. Know at which point of the clutch the gears start to engage and add a bit of gas pedal once you hit that engagement point.
It appears that Momoka's mistake was that she hopped off the clutch giving the very characteristic lurch and stall that manual drivers are all too familiar with.

can confirm. I drive my own car for 8,5 years now and except for when I first learn to drive stick, I rarely stall my car (1/100 chance). But man, that 1% is really embarassing, eventhough it is just me in the car
Fully 3d, original works(not based off source material), all new voice actor(the character age and their va age is the same) and really good(at least what my brother tells me, he watch the whole season while i only watched 2 episode)
It's not often you find an original IP anime; especially nowadays. Doing an original is riskier than adapting a manga.

The 3D animation in this show looks INCREDIBLE, especially for anime standards. I know it's probably expensive but I wish all 3D in anime looked this good.
They're being a little too harsh.. Like come on guys, she hasn't even driven the car yet and they act like she tried to kill them.

Then again, Japan does differentiate between drivers certified on manual vehicles and auto-only drivers, and if she had already forgotten how to drive a manual by doing the biggest rookie mistake on starting a manual it really doesn't bode well for the rest of the drive.

Oh, and one more thing. Japan has multiple vehicle weight class licensing requirements. A HiAce is higher classed than a standard car, meaning that Momoka would have needed an additional licence to drive it, which she should have taken additional lessons to get.

Over here in europe they're gonna give you an auto restricted licence if you can't figure out a manual, you have to pass your final test in a manual car for a full license (you also get a license for an automatic 125cc scooter as a bonus in most countries)

How to start driving manual:
1.Press clutch and break
2. Put it in first
3.lose the handbreak
4. get from the clutch and remember: slow is fast and fast is slow
5. Set off
It took me 3 tries with a modified bmw to set off, i didnt drove manual before
(The clutch has its point almost at the bottom and a very aggressive one)

These are what you would call speed subs. Subs meant to be gotten out as quickly as possible. More proper subs usually take about a week or so to come out.

I dont want to lie first time try driving car in manual so hard well i can see momoka pretend to not show the them that she cant drive it yet i think
just put the clutch down again start the engine give it a bit more gas and let the clutch off slower. and when the time is right switch a gear by putting the clutch down again switching gears and letting of the clutch. and when stopping remember to also (while in gear) put the clutch down.
tip: it is suggested to have the car in neutral while stopped
tip: it is suggested to leave the car in first gear when leaving the car parked (dont forget the handbrake!) and if you are parked on a hill with the car pointing downwards leave the car in reverese.
it takes like an hour of practice to get the handle of a manual gearbox. and a lot longer to get it perfected. or atleast close to it because none of us are perfect good luck out there lads.

well, i read that the US license is one of the only few in the world that is not validable in other countries. i don't know if this true, but makes sense if they only teach automatic. Also is at 16 year old, while in most countries is at 18.
@@Smougdain EU you also can learn and pass license test on automatic, but you get your license with mark "only automatic". After this you can get only automatic cars in car rental and police also can check if you drive automatic or manual car and give you a ticket.

Never tried dumping the clutch like that before. Maybe I will try next time. Then again the Evo has near 500hp now, if I dumped the clutch it would probably just lurch forward really violenty.
To be fair I have never tried driving automatic myself. If I did try, I would probably drive the car into a ditch right of the bat because I forgot there was no clutch and put too much throttle into it. 😅

Well if you can drive a manual,you definitely can drive an automatic one. It's just less fun and has a different feel with some people feels it is terrible because of the lack of controls to your vehicle.
