Thank you friend. This was quick and easy. First I checked out my Inspiron 15 7580's battery using HWiNFO74 app and found it was 85% worn out. Bought a WDX0R battery on amazon which came the next day complete with magnetic screwdriver. (used a little jewellers screw driver instead of the opening tool and was careful). I found removing the battery ribbon to be the scariest part. Now it's plugged in and charging and the HWiNFO74 shows battery wear level is 0%. You saved me about $1500 (for a little while) on having to buy a new laptop, and best of all taught me a valuable skill and saved on e-waste.

This was a great help so thank you! When the middle screws wouldn't come out I thought there was something wrong with my screwdriver lol. Watching this gave me the confidence to open the lid and remove the dead battery. Great work!

Thanks very much, that was a big help. The Dell battery I got came almost empty so I needed to charge it a bit before the machine booted up. Also the screws in the trackpad corners were at a slight angle when screwing back in.

Hello, thanks for this guide. I have followed it successfully to replace the battery in my dell computer. The life is as new. I did get a plastic opening tool specifically to do the job too, and getting into the computer blunted the edge on it. Maybe a metal one is best after all. Once again many thanks for the guide, it was most useful and I have learned something new from you!

Thanks so very much for your fantastic tutorial. I have followed it exactly and successfully to replace the battery in my dell laptop. I did use plastic opening tools from a “Yinsan Precision Multifunction Screwdriver Set” as it had loads of plastic tools to choose from and did a great job and no markings on my laptop. Thank you for that advice too, all in all I’m very happy the my old laptop has a new lease of life.

I didn't have a thin wedge to pry the bottom cover off, as you show. I found it much easier to remove the bottom cover if you start lifting the cover section that lies between the two hinges. No tool is needed - catch it with your fingernails, and it will pop loose. The bottom cover can now be removed.

My 7567 battery looks more swollen then yours and then has been a few years already. Tried a replacement one, but something melted the case and got my money back.
Battery life is really really poor when you game on it as the battery voltage will drop below 10v on heavy load and so think it's empty ( 80% to 5% all of a sudden ).
Even though windows reports 59% battery wear which isn't true.
