We are in London but mostly near Wimbledon because there is a Norwegian International school there. Scandinavian is actually a geographical point between Norway & Sweden but political it between Norway, Sweden and Denmark. Finland, Greenland Iceland, Faroe islands, Åland Island, Svalbard, Norway, Sweden and Denmark are part of Nordic.

Ironically, real "Aryans" (the noble, the elites) (That Nazis falsely claimed were Germans)were tall dark haired and brown eyed with robust facial features and genetic "tendency" for blondism, lesser than modern south Europeans.-Based on genetic research published in 2015. Aryans is broad label for group of people who domesticated horse and spread the Proto Indo European language. Nazis thought that those people were tall, blond haired and blue eyed therefore the word Aryan "evolved" in every day usage as synonumous to blondism.
-Just wanted to share this info! :)

Norwegian viewer here, and finally! Non-Scandinavic people talking about Norway rather than Sweden!
    To answer your questions:
1.It’s not always winter, but far north the winters are super duper long and super duper dark. They get the midnight sun in the summer, so in the winter it’s always dark.
    2. We’re not all blonde, no. You guys would be attractive here, tbh. If you spoke Norwegian perhaps you could maybe even pull off being “one of us”. But brown eyes are not at all common for people who aren’t an immigrant. Most people have some kind of blue/green/grey mix.
    3. Tacos are big here! We had taco Tuesday every single week at my old school, and tacos every Friday is super duper common here, especially in families with kids. For our tacos we don’t only have the shells though, we also have those “disks” you wrap burritos in, which I reckon could be even more popular than the shells. It is technically a burrito but we still call it taco.
    4. Sadly not many polar bears here, but a lot of deer. I’d like to think we’re all vikings with polar bears as pets, but sadly not.
    5. Back to the midnight sun/always dark thing. I’ve heard that psychologists have a lot of job opportunities further north in the winter because so many people get SAD (as you said in the video). In the summer the days are super long, and in the winter they’re super short (in terms of darkness). In December I’ll be walking to school in the dark, and going home as it’s turning dark. In the summer it goes down at 12am and rises at 4am (roughly). Where I live, that is. Which is far south. But it’s not like half a year is dark and half a year is bright and it just suddenly shifts :P
    6. YES! Oh my god, someone told me once that Scandinavia is the country and that the actual countries are states and I’m just like?? We’re independent. And I’m not Swedish/Danish/Finish, whatever, I’m Norwegian, and that’s important. Also, we’re really not that big, only 5 million people :)
    7. Yeah, in general we don’t eat out a lot. Recently a couple of American friends of mine came to Norway and they said it’s super expensive. We mostly just buy food and prepare it at home. Takeaway too is only for a decently special occasion, or just every now and then. We have a lot of oil money, so we’re one of the richest countries on earth :P
    8. I don’t know about urinating on fish, but a lot of our economy depends on selling salmon to other countries. I’d say we eat a fair bit of fish here, yeah. We have a lot of fish dishes that would seem super weird to foreigners, haha.
    9. Sadly, that’s not common knowledge so I don’t know. But possibly, I’d like to know!
    10. Yeah! I definitely feel super safe here. In bigger cities there naturally is some crime so I do avoid certain places, but overall it’s pretty safe. We have one of, if not the most effective prison systems in the world. We focus on rehabilitation, not just punishment.:)
Edit: Wow thank you so much for all the nice/informative comments! :D And Joel and Lia - I really really like your channel and your personalities, keep up the great content!

Actually 'Scandinavia' usually refers to just Denmark, Norway and Sweden. Finland, Iceland, Greenland, the Faroe Islands and the Åland Islands together with Denmark, Norway and Sweden are the 'Nordic Countries'

    1. Short answer: Nope, but it really depends on where you live. I live on the west coast (Rogaland/Karmøy) and we literally had 4 weeks there from the middle of May where we had no feckin rain and it was just pure sunshine, we ended up with bbq bans because it was a fire hazard. Now we're back to the typical cloudy/rainy/dreary weather again (but to be fair, I'm used to it coming from N.Ire). Winter time we get some snow, but you have to go further inland and higher up the mountains to get a lot of snow.
    2. Short answer: Nope, but I remember saying to my husband when I first moved here going past a barnehagen (kindergarten) ... jeeez this is like a Nazi paradise :x (I was young and really didn't mean to be offensive). My husband is tall, dark brown hair and pale, so not quite the stereotype :D
    3. LOL yes! "Taco Fredag" ... taco Friday is the norm, but I am pretty damn sure any Mexicans would look and be like "ehhhhh... what is that!!!" :D But no, it's not the national food... the top 3 as voted by Norwegians if I remember correctly are: 1. Fårikål (sheep & cabbage thingy), 2. Kjøttkaker i brun saus (Meatballs/cakes in gravy) and 3. Lapskaus (which is like a sausage irish stew). They also love their fish. (and you are right about the Tex-Mex being Texas Mexico... or else I'm just making shite up).
    4. Never seen a polar bear... pretty sure you have to go way up to the island of Svalbard way up in the north artic waters.
    5. Way up north they have the midnight sun during summer, and dark dark during the winter. Where I live (west coast) during the summer we do have some hours of darkness, like 23:30ish to 03:30ish and during the winter it is pretty dark, but they like their twinkly lights from November til after christmas which makes it pretty and not as depressing. And we do have a SAD light :D (because my husband used to be a big gamer :D)
    6. They have a jokey rivalry with Sweden... you know the way we have jokes about Paddy Irish man, English man and Scots man... well Sweden is their 'dumb' one.
    7. Yeah, it's feckin expensive as a cheapskate N.Irelander... but they do it for special occasions, they make a bigger deal out of inviting friends and family over to make meals for them and show off their fancy show homes... I'm sitting there like... ehhhh I can make you spuds or... chips... or.... fried stuff...
    8. They do love their fish. The stinky fish I think you're talking about is a fermented herring and it's a swedish 'delicacy' called 'surstrømming' I remember a wee while back a kid got suspended from school for opening a box of it in school, nearly 400 kids had to be sent home because of the stink. (I'm not sure about how it's made... :D)
    9. Ehhh... Haven't a baldy notion :D but the norwegians think they invented the staple that everyone uses today, and they even have a town with a big statue of a staple (yes, the thing to keep pages together) so I had a great laugh when I found out the version they have as a statue is NOT the norwegian version of the staple and it was actually invented like 30-40 years before the norwegian one haha
    10. Yes, I feel very safe here, it's why, despite the fact my parents, 5 siblings and 10 nieces and nephews are still back home in N.Ireland, I don't want to raise my kids there, I feel like it's much safer here and we can come visit my family instead :D BUT I am in a wee town... the bigger cities obviously have more crime but still not that bad.
You should look up about their prison system too: www.businessinsider.com/why-norways-prison-system-is-so-successful-2014-12?r=US&IR=T&IR=T (there are videos on youtube showing about it)
edit to add: when you were trying to say the word for the stinky fish, I'm wondering if you were trying to say Sild as that's the norwegian for herring *thinking face*

burke615 yes it is possible since everyone under 75 understand English, but if you are moving here, please do us a favour and learn our language. Some café's and restaurants I can't speak Norwegian because people working there doesn't bother.. so my daughter don't understand them because she's a child. Why not learn it, it's easier to get a job. It is so annoying having to speak English to the same people living here for years. My neighbours have lived here for years and haven't learned a word, so if something would of happened my daughter can't communicate with them at all. (That is if you are moving here. Visiting - you don't need to learn it)

Although I'm not Norwegian but I'm a linguist and I can say that it's a common mistake to think of Finnland as a part of Scandinavia which is historically a region where viking tribes settled. The Scandinavian language family includes Swedish, Dannish, Norwegian and Icelandic while the Finnish language belongs to the Finno-Ugric family.

    • @DidrickNamtvedt
      @DidrickNamtvedt 4 года назад

Icelandic is not a Scandinavian language, nor is Iceland a Scandinavian country. Icelandic is, however, North Germanic, just like Norwegian, Swedish and Danish (and Iceland belongs to the Nordic region along with Finland and the Scandinavian countries), whereas Finnish (as you said) belongs to the Finno-Ugric language family. So it looks like you got Scandinavian and North Germanic mixed up but it can happen to the best of us :)

    1. No, we have lovely summers. Almost all of May had almost +30 C (that's not normal, though). We have four really different seasons, but it varies for different parts of Norway. I think that for many parts of Norway we have a lot more stabil weather than in England. Less rain, less wind (at least in the eastern part of Norway) and more stabil temperatures within each season.
    2. I'm a brunette with blue eyes, my youngest has brown hair and brown eyes, as does her father. My two other children are blond with blue eyes... My sister is a red head with green eyes...
    3. Taco Friday is an actual thing, but I think Mexicans would be embarrassed by our tacos... Haha... I remember eating my first tacos early in the 90's... The last 10-15 years it has really turned into a "thing". A couple of grocery stores even has cheaper taco ingredients on Fridays to attract customers!
    4. No polar bears in mainland Norway... Sorry... You have to go to Svalbard (island north of Norway) for that.
    5. Dark during winter, light all night during summer... (look up midnight sun, even if that's a phenomenon in the north, still makes our nights light in the south). The further north you are, the longer you have daylight during summer and the longer it's dark during winter...
    6. We're Norwegians, Scandinavians, Europeans. Whatever!
    7. Yes! But our average wages are a whole lot higher that yours as well, so...
    8. We try to eat fish for dinner a couple of times a week, but the one you're describing I've never heard of. "Salma" (fresh salmon) is amazing! We also use fish spread on bread.
    9. Yes. I feel safe anywhere. Even in "dodgy" parts of Oslo. Even if I'm alone at night. Don't think that would be everyone's answer, but...
Oslo and other bigger cities are of course not as safe as the countryside, but still...
    This was fun ;)

I'm an American of Swedish heritage. The fish you're talking about, I believe, is lutefisk which the Swedes and Norwegians both eat. It is fish that has been soaked in lye to preserve it and then boiled and eaten with mustard. I've never heard that there is any urine involved. It is reputed to have a really awful smell, so maybe that's where the rumor started.

    • @craigbenz4835
      @craigbenz4835 6 лет назад +3

I think they are talking about sturrstrumming. I'm sure my spelling isn't even close. My sister visited some relatives in Sweden and was exposed to this. The family kept it buried in a crock outdoors. She claims the name literally translates as "rotten stinking fish." Lutefisk is cod preserved in lye then soaked and boiled. It is bad stuff also, but not even in the same league.

Actually, Arthur, most of the western part of what is now the United States, including Texas, was once a part of Mexico. Texas became independent of Mexico in 1836 and became its own country -- The Republic of Texas. Texas is the only State in the United States that entered the union by treaty rather than by annexation. Besides we are talking about a Texan influence over traditional Mexican cuisine, rather that any governmental influence of one over the other.

I am American and quite a few years ago I visited an American friend in Oslo who married a Norwegian guy. Eating out is terribly expensive, so they don't eat out much. They tend to go to each other's houses during the week to watch tv, though there is not much to watch . Though it was a long time ago, I still remember the prices because it was so outrageous. A Big Mac Meal, which in New York City is maybe $7, was the equivalent of US $16. At a Caribbean restaurant, chicken and vegetables on skewers with rice and a coke was US$50, and at a nice restaurant, fresh fish soup (main course), a coke and a dessert was US $100.
You guys would starve to death. Stay home:)

I believe the fish you are referring to may be "lutefisk". It is made from a white fish, which is soaked in lye, then rinsed so it is safe to eat. It is a tradition to eat it around the Christmas and New Years holidays here in Minnesota, which I believe is the U.S. state with the highest percentage of people of Scandinavian heritage. We are Minnesota Vikings!

You two are so funny! :D I'm from the eastern part of Norway, and from my perspective, I don't mind being labelled as a Scandinavian. It's more annoying if someone assume you're from Denmark or Iceland, or you know. A lot of Norwegians actually travel to Sweden to buy groceries because its supposed to be cheaper, haha! So, to answer your question about eating out at restaurants and so on, yes, it is expensive! alcohol is extremely expensive to buy when you're out. Norwegians also LOVE frozen pizza for some reason. It is very popular here, especially a pizza called "Grandiosa" :)

You two are delightful, thanks for the awesome videos! I was raised in a part of the USA where they celebrate Norwegian heritage. There is one food they have which I don't understand... The dreaded lutefisk... Take a beautiful piece of cod, soak it in lye, dry it, reconstitute it in milk and cook it. Every Norwegian church serves this as a fundraising meal every year. Tastes of death, like if you were to have a flavor of Jello called "old fish". Sending love from across the pond.

Yeah, here in Southern California we just have Mexican food, not as much Tex/Mex. Tex/Mex is a modern take of traditional Mexican food. Fajitas is a good example of a dish that originated north of the border. In L.A. there are a lot of family owned Mexican restaurants that serve authentic Mexican food. One chain restaurant that does serve Tex/Mex is Chili's. There's one in almost every town here in SoCal.

From what I've read salmon wasn't seen as a very high quality fish, not something you would use for sushi, but through campaigning it got popular and we got to export a lot of our salmon, and it has since become a very popular fish for sushi world-wide :D

if you are seeking the anwers, you've come to the right place. I'm a norwegian and love that people from other countries wants to know things about Norway.
    1. there isn't always winter, but in the north the winter last a very long time and it usually is a lot of snow all over Norway.
    2. There are a lot of people that are, but just as many aren't if not more.
    3. Tacos is very big in Norway, it even got it's own day "Taco Friday".
    4. there are no polar bear in Norway unfortunately, if you are not counting Svalbard. On Svalbard, which is an island just outside the norwegian costline, there are polar bears roaming around.
    5. In the north there are no sunlight at the winter at all, but in the sommer the sun never sets and shines all day and night.
    6. we are not offended by the term "Scandinavian", but we do prefer being called "norwegians".
    7. Norway is one of the most expensive countries in the world. The capital oslo, is more expensive than Paris and Washington.
    8. We do eat lots of fish, fish is so important for our culture that the govornment changed the picture on the 200 kr bill to a cod.
    9. I'm not sure if we gave them the idea of it, but we eat a lot of it and it wouldn't suprise me.
    10. Yes we feel very much safe here. the only thing I don't feel safe about, is the sketchy streets.
I hope I arswered well enough so you understod.

Without reading any of the comments, here are my conceptions about Norway:
    1) Norway's about the same latitude as Alaska, so gets very little sun, & lots of snow in winter; but warms up, snow free in summer. I've seen ads for Norwegian cruises shows the ship navigating steep-sided fjords covered in greenery.
    2) Because Norway & Sweden share their peninsula's central mountain ridge as border, both are essentially mountain terrain: green, fertile valleys separated by ridges. This explains why skiing is a popular pastime.
Also, you commented that Brits don't have any group identity their confused with...? Isn't British itself a group identity? Surely you aren't saying that English, Scottish, Irish & Welsh are functionally one nation, indistinguishable from each other? Aren't they united nations rather than one nation?

As for question 8: Lutefisk is a horrible fermented fish that is a classic Norwegian fish. We have it in Minnesota in the states every year for our Norwegian Heritage festival. Its air dried whitefish, salted & fermented in lye. Comes out this smelly jello like fish. Its terrible.
Otherwise, you might mean; Surströmming, which is a horrible Swedish fish. From Wiki: "This fermented herring, a northern Swedish speciality, is widely believed to be the smelliest food in the world. Noxious gases build up in the tin, making the cans bulge, and most airlines in the world have banned passengers transporting surströmming for fear of the cans exploding and causing the plane to be evacuated."

    1. It's mostly rain and wind, but it can get up to 30c in the summer.
    2. Not really, we are a very mixed country, 20 % of Norway are immigrants.
    3. Yes, tacos are pretty normal here. Most people eat it every Friday.
    4. I haven't seen a polar bear before. You can probably on Svalbard or very north
    5. North in Norway, yes but we have something called midnight sun which means that the sun never sets so its sun 24/7 for a few months. It's also light 24/7 mid-April to early September.
    6. We are rich, they are just jealous.
    7. YES, Just food, in general, is expensive. If you want to eat out it will probably coast 25-35$ sometimes even 40$. I buy a sandwich and an iced coffee at school and I pay like 10$. If I have time to go to the store I pay like 7-8$ and that is cheap for me.
    8. Since lots of the Norwegian international business is fish. I mean most families probably eat it once or twice a week but I don't eat it often.
    9. I don't think that but we do sell a lot of salmon to Japan.
    10. Yes, I do feel safe but not in big cities at night. There can be some scary people walking around and there has been a lot of stabbing recently but other than that I feel somewhat safe. But not in Oslo, it has good police and stuff but I don't like it there. It's better than Stockholm tho.

Haha, Norway’s national food is not taco, but yes we like it very good! 4. Ahah no it’s not polar bears everywhere here, but in north it is much 5. At the winter It’s dark at the morning and early at the night but it’s light at the day, and at the summer it’s light almost all day and night 6. Yeah a little 7. Yeah! It’s kind of expensive to eat out so we cook food home 8. I don’t really know 9. Yeah I think so 10. Yeah!! It’s very safe here, it is almost never crime here! I love to live here❤️

    1. Its not always winter. Even in the north. We get snow usually around November up in the north. Sometimes earlier other times later :) And it usually starts to melt end of april and in may. The coldest I´ve expirienced is -45 degrees but that was inland, close to Finish border. My city is at the coast and usually the two first weeks of january are the coldest where we can get -30 degrees. And we do celebrate christmas :D
    2. We have blond, black, brown and even red. Blue, green, grey and also a lot of brown eyes. Some are tall some are not, but from what I´ve seen we tend to be a bit shorter in the north. And you would deffinetly be seen as actractive in Norway :D
    3. Tacos are huge and I think most people have at least one day of the week where they eat it, most likly during the weekend.
    4. Not any Polar Bears on the mainland, but if you go to the Island of Svalbard (wich belongs to Norway) there are Polar Bears. I´ve seen one, tho it was far away out on the ice :D
    5. Up here in the most northern part, its maybe completly dark all day all night for maybe 2 moths ish. From around middle of November to the beginnging of january. But in january we start to get more and more daylight every day, and usually we see the sun sometime in the middle of january. I actually prefer this :) In the summer it doesn´t get dark at all. Its daylight all day all night and the sun only goes down for maybe 1 hour and its that time we have the midnight sun. Then it goes up and shines all night aswell. Makes it really hard to fall asleep :p So I struggle more in the summer. I think we really like to go to England for shopping weekends :D
    6. We do tend to get overshadowed by the rest a bit, and often combined with Sweeden. I don´t mind being called scandinavian becouse I am, prefer that over european :p But first and formost we are Norwegians :D We are small in population but not in landmass. And funny thing about the northern part, the people in the south in general (not all) don´t really know much about what we have up here or what its like :p Alot of them get a bit of a shock going there the first time :p Sometimes I feel the most northern county we have doesn´t really excist on the maps at all :D
    7. Every thing is expencive in Norway, so yes we tend to cook meals at home and invite people over for dinner. But we eat out sometimes. And we do have cheeper options for eating out also, but they are not always the healthiest ones.
    8. We eat a lot of fish. It is a fising nation :) And at least I grew up with the mentality that you should vary your meat. So one day should be fish, another red meat and another maybe chicken :)
    9. It is very safe :) I think a lot of the reason is gun controll. But we do have crime and murders happen sadly. In a small city like mine, we atleast have more theft, robbings but there has meen more violent crimes too. But I don´t realle feel unsafe in any part of Norway.
Hope this gave you a bit of a northern perspective on Norway :D

This was possibly your most ignorant and misinformed video yet, and I absolutely loved it. I was laughing so hard, thank you, please never do research.
The urban legend about fish preserved with human urine is totally false and rather recent. Also, this urban legend with no basis in reality usually cites Iceland, not Norway, as the country where this is done. Iceland, Norway, and Sweden all have fermented fish that smell strongly of ammonia and thus smell like urine, but they didn't add urine.
You misunderstood what Aryan means and the historical context in which it has been used, see my other comment.
The nights are very long in the winter, but the days are very long in the summer. Do you understand how the planet Earth works? It's not dark all the time, it's dark in the winter.
Toward the end, Joel said he couldn't name a single city in Norway, and I lost it. How about Oslo? Bergen? I'll even give you 75% credit for Svalbard. It's not a city but it does have polar bears.
This video would be equally applicable to Sweden and Finland, except for the brief portion where Lia demonstrates that she understands where Norway is relative to Sweden.
Here are some UK-and-Norway fun facts:
Norway is not in the EU. The UK is leaving the EU. You have that in common.
Norway has a King. The UK has a Queen. The UK and Norway both have relatively visible monarchs, in terms of media coverage. Contrast this with the Emperor of Japan. The Emperor of Japan explicitly has "no power in government". He is expected to participate in certain ceremonies, but the frequency and visibility of these ceremonies is low compared to Queen Elizabeth.
Norway and the UK are both super tight with the US and with NATO.

I went to Norway a few years ago and I flew in a blizzard but it was the first snow in 10 months! It was 3 feet of snow and made it too difficult to see the Northern lights which was the whole reason we went to Tromso. On the bright side, I can say I've been to the arctic circle and Tromso is a beautiful city. Also, Norwegian men are gorgeous!

    NORWEGIAN HERE TO ANSWER
1: It is NOT always winter. In the northern part of the country, it can be really cold, but not many people live there. We have around 3 months of winter(like every other country) and it usually on oh snow 2 or three months in the year
2: No, we don't look the same at all. It's actually more normal to have brown hair and brown eyes, than blonde hair and blue eyes. Black hair is also normal. Because of immigrants, around 40% I think, don't have white skin
3: Yep, tacos wis really popular. It's not our national food, but it's normal to eat tacos every Friday. It's not like Mexican tacos, more an American version
4: Polar bears don't exist in Norway, and no they are not our pets. No it's not our flag...
5: In northern norway, one month it's actually not dark at all. And then I mean sun 24/7. No night. But it's not dark half of the year
6: YES, Norway is an independent country, and we have fought hard for it.
Btw, Scandinavia is only Norway, Sweden and Denmark
7: Everything is expensive. But Sweden is really cheap. We actually drive to Sweden some times in the year to buy food
    8: I actually don't know
9: Yes, it's safe. In 2014 a guy called Andes Breivik did a terror attack on an island we call Utøya, and he pretty much shot random people. But that's the only thing in years. There are around five big cities in Norway who are less safe than others, but it's more safe than other countries. It's completely safe to walk in the streets
And remember, Norway isn't the North Pole...

    1. No! We actually have a very warm summer, well sometimes. The weather is very similar to England.
    2. This is kind of a difficult question because its kind of right, we are aryan, but not all of us.
    3. We have some thing called Taco Fredag witch is taco Friday. We do love tacos
    4. NO. I have never seen a polar bear ever.
    5. It is very dark, but when it is light it never gets dark. It gets dark in the winter but in the summer it is sooo light.
    6. We don’t mind it, but we would like to have our own label.
    7. Norway is such an expensive country.
    8. Kind of, no-one pees on a fish..
    9. I don’t know...
    10. Yes it is a very safe country.

    1. It's not always winter, like now in the summer, it's warm and sunny, and very nice, but in the winter it can get very cold, so we have lots of warm clothes:)
    2. There are of course brown-eyed people here, and even a few green-eyed, but the point is, we're not all tall blond and have blue eyes. As for myself, I do have blue eyes, but I'm not very tall, and I have a little light brown hair color. In Norway, it's actually a bit attractive to have a slightly brown-colored skin.
    3. Most families have something called ''Taco-fredag'', which basically means ''taco-friday''. So every friday we eat taco. However not all families do this, and not every family do it every friday, but most of them do.
    4. No polar bears do not roam around in Norway. I actually think they are nowhere to be found in Norway, except for Svaldbard, which is an island a little north over Norway. You can look it up.
    5. Only in the winter there's not much light, but apart from that (and when it's night) there sunny and light outside. As I'm typing this, I'm looking outside my window at the sunny weather, and it makes me wanna go for a walk. (Think I'll do that after I've watched this video done). I'll send you a picture on instagram if you want?
    6. Our country is not that much bigger than yours, but it's not smaller either..
    7. It is SOOOO expensive here!!! I don't think I know anyone who eats out often in Norway because it's so expensive!!
    8. We do eat quite a lot of fish here, but I've never heard of that fish you talked about! The salmon here is AMAZING! It is my favourite fish!
    9. I've never heard of norweigans telling japanese people to put raw salmon on their sushi, but if that's true then that's incredible.
    10. It is really really really safe here. There are very strict laws for buying alcohol, and stealing and that sort of stuff, and the police in this country is very good! If you're in one of the big cities at night though, there might be drunk people hanging around, so you should be careful at night.

    2. No, the people are wery different
    3. Yes Tacos is a big thing in Norway, most people have Tacos on a Thursday. It is calles Taco Torsdag
    4. No only on a Artic island called Svalbard.
5.Yes, in the summer it is daylight even in midnight but in the winter it is always dark
    6. We dont get a lot of atension like Sweden, but it doesnt realy bother us
    7. It depens on the food but usualy yes.
    8. We do eat alot of freaking fish.
    9. Yea, i think so, idk 😕
    10. Yes we do feel safe most of the time, especially where i live on a peninsula called Nesodden under Oslo.

    1. Norway is known to be cold, but during the last few years Norway has had cold and snowy winters (a good thing, because sloppy snow and autumn-like winters are just depressing), and warm summers (degrees around 20-28 celsius, reaching above 30 at highest + recently, the sun has been a very frequent occurrence) Norwegians wear shorts and t-shirts in the summer, just like the rest of the world.
Btw: Though we have a long coast line, Norway is not a big country, the usual charts (those you apparently have been watching) don't show the correct landmass of countries. You have to look at globus or mercator's map projection, you'll find that Norway is very small.
2.A lot of Norwegians are quite "arian", but the Norwegian population consists of a lot of different people, and anyone with a Norwegian citizenship are Norwegians. Regardless of immigrants, a lot of Norwegians with long family lines in Norway have brown hair and brown eyes.
3.Taco Friday is a popular thing, but taco is not a "national food".
    4. There are polar bears in Norway, but only on Svalbard (An island, and the northernmost point in Norway). Seeing polar bears there is a common thing, but most Norwegians have never laid their eyes on one. Also, I would think having a polar bear for a pet would be a cause for a lot of concerns seeing as it is the largest bear and land living predator in the world.
    5. Norway is known as "the land of the midnight sun". Sure, during the winter the sun goes down a bit earlier the some places, but during the summer and spring it almost never leaves the skies. In the northern parts of Norway is stays up 24/7. So this question is way off the mark.
    6. I don't think it's a big problem for most, but the countries up north are very different, although there are some similarities.
Btw: The "Nordic countries" is what comprises Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Island and Finland. Scandinavia is a term used only for Norway, Sweden and Denmark.
    7. Norway is one of the most expensive countries in the world (same league as Switzerland), and defiantly the most expensive of the nordic countries. Norwegian salaries are high, but everything is expensive, and eating out is defiantly one of them. Most Norwegians eat mostly at home.
    8. Norwegians have good access to fish, and eat it regularly, but not so often that it is something we should be known for. There is a traditional Norwegian fish dish called "lutefisk" that has sort of a bad reputation, but it is always exaggerated, and is is not eaten by all that many. This "urinfish" you speak of is probably something your head has brewed together on its own.
    9. Donno...
    10. Very. We are very liberal.
