More like this please, it’s fascinating and let’s people see how well the forces horses are looked after, with their own vets and farriers and many. Many soldiers looking after them. Thank you to everyone looking after them
Maintaining a horse is much like running a car! ( and as expensive!) I look back with great affection at my youthful horse life❤welcome back “ my someone Pa He” xx
It's nice to see the horse's looked after .I really hope the one's that were running loose? They other day are well specially the white one ? It was covered in blood cos.
Those two injured horses were on the news last night (4th June 2024). They were enjoying a run in a field. Looking very good. The other horses are back on duty & will be part of Trooping the Colour on Saturday 15th June 2024.
@NattieChristopher wow that is torture, to make a horse stand like that for pictures is no better than working horses pulling a carriage. At least they get to move
@@maggiefranks6849 The horses are carefully chosen & trained for their work in the British army & well looked after !! There was a time over a century ago when horses were used for battle in all countries !!

Pretty certain they get worked quite often throughout the day. Don’t quote me tho😂 I do know they get sort of a “holiday” where they leave London and get to actually be horses for a few weeks in a nice green field.
They are tied up to be groomed, tacked up, and shod, just like any horse! Otherwise they have roomy stalls. Don't be thinking that these horses are hard done by or badly treated. There are vets and farriers on hand day and night. There's an awful lot of animal abuse in UK, but it's not in Knightsbridge Barracks!
See I wholeheartedly love and support our military but part of me just can’t help that think this money that keeps these ceremonial horses wouldn’t be better spent on an actual anti ship missile for our fleet, or bringing forward the capability uplift on the f-35 or a few more tanks added to the upgrade program, or even an increase in headcount/pay for our troops etc

Money is flowing in due to tourism. People don't come to London to have a trip on the London Eye, they are coming to see the 'royal' traditions e.g horse guards, Royal Family and so on. Taking these things out of the picture, let me tell you, UK wouldn't be that attractive to tourists. So any of these comments on "ahhh, waste of tax payers money" is false.

This is amazing. It's one thing I love about the Brits. The respect & honor shown to timeless traditions. Good show ol' chap ! Jolly good ! 😊🇬🇧

The only thing about a car is it's not like it's a bite You and some of these will. Straight out Jurassic Park Some
Fantastic video, I’m intriqued❤
I love the drum horses.
a lot of dedication and love
Thank you for behind the scenes hard work takes, and caring of the beautiful horses 😊
That was superb and I wonder if they get out to fields much to just be in the fresh air? Thank you.
Yes, they do! Horses and their riders have an annual holiday in the country, close to the coast, every August. 🙂
They are also turned out to grass for a month over Christmas in Leicestershire.

Wow.
Interesting.
❤❤❤❤ This great to see this. It is a lot of work
I wonder why they don't just buy the polish by the bucket rather than by the tin xD
I hope these horses are also allowed free time out having fun in a large field. To make them stand all day like that is torture

@NattieChristopher do they exercise them at least? And do real dressage drills?

So these horses do not have stables(boxes), How do they lie down whenever they feel like it? I would never allow my horses to have stalls.
👏👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️❤️
I want to know what breed those black horses are.
I lover Shire Horses. ❤ But i see a lot of verry smal boxes where the horses no space vor turn arraund or lay down
They can lie down.
The boxes are not very small
Why though? Is it just for show?
Yes
Tradition my friend. Pride in your Regiment, pride in your self.
How many hours do these horses spend tied up , not having room to move around or lay down? Just wondering!!!

The amount used on these horses wouldn’t be anywhere near to do anything you suggested. We have tradition why would we get rid of it.
They generate more income from tourism than their costs of maintaining.
yes!!! exactly!
Very odd how many tattoos the Brits allow. I would think only SAS or airborne would be allowed such a bad-ass privelidge
A bad ass privilege?
You know how little amount of soldiers we’d have if we didn’t allow people with tattoos?
You don’t have to be a badass, to get a tattoo, and having tattoos doesn’t make you a badass.
Why would SAS need to have tattoos?
It is time to abolish the monarchy.

would be better use to use these funds for the crumbling armed forces instead of an archaic celebration ceremony
Waste of tax payer funds
I disagree I say we should keep it. We have tradition why should we throw it away?
