  • Evernote has just introduced a new feature that is likely to make the program even more valuable. It has now added a ‘task’ system that may replace your current task management system. Let’s take it for a test drive.

    Dave, I am particularly happy with the Tasks widget on the Home Page. I have my PC set to open Evernote when I turn on my PC in the morning, so the first thing that pops into view is the Home Page topped by the Tasks. So once I have coffee in hand and my computer on I can review the tasks for the day and go right to the proper note directly from the Tasks widget. Very handy.

    Dave I am new to Evernote. How do I watch your presentations in order? I don't see a logical way to watch them.

    Excellent overview, Dave. Thanks for sharing. I use Asana for task mgmt and Evernote for notes, then move between the two for productivity, which is counter-productive. I'll try your approach and let you know the results.

      Paul, Thanks for getting in touch. Does this help? Click the Insert button on the editing toolbar, then click Task. From the Tasks view: Click the Add new task button (checkmark with a plus sign) in the upper right corner. From the New Note button: Click the arrow next to the green New Note button, then click New Task.

      @@daveedwardsmedia hello Dave, thanks for your reply. I use the desktop version and tried numerous ways to even using versions of your suggestions. The only thing I could do that worked for me was to create a new note - Project Name, then add task name. Now I can add any documents or narratives i need to add to that document. This enables me to find all project name documents and others that i need to keep. Now I can add additional tasks to the note and everything is in the one place.... I thought I could start a project with the task first then add notes and other tasks or narratives. It seems the Note has to start first. I thank you for your efforts in replying to me

    Good video Dave. Thanks. How can I print either (i) the tasks list or (ii) the Things To Do note without the completed tasks?

    • @daveedwardsmedia
      @daveedwardsmedia  2 года назад

      Martin, You can print the note that includes the task list. Hit the three dots (...) on the upper right of the note and select PRINT from the drop-down menu. You can also export it to a PDF from the FILE menu dropdown. Hope that helps. - Dave ( www.DaveEdwardsMedia.com )

      @@daveedwardsmedia Thanks for the quick reply. I can indeed print the ''Things to do'' note as you suggest, but it includes all the completed tasks (clearly showing that they are completed but still taking a lot of unnecessary space)

    How do you add tasks into a notebook in a stack?

    • @daveedwardsmedia
      @daveedwardsmedia  2 года назад +1

      You can add a task to any note that resides in any notebook. Any notebook can be put into a stack. Does that make sense? Here is how I add a task to a note using my Mac:
      Click the Insert button on the editing toolbar, then click Task. Or, type Cmd + T
      From the Tasks view: Click the Add new task button (checkmark with a plus sign) in the upper right corner.
      From the New Note button: Click the arrow next to the green New Note button, then click New Task.
      Hope that helps.
