Former Price announcer Rich Fields had that carpet until he moved to Florida and then he gave it away. He has a lot of artifacts from TPIR including Johnny and Rod's old podium. That stuff would be perfect for the Strong Museum of Play.
Checked PIr wiki and it said that the game debuted in 1991. I read a broadcasting magazine article from October 1992 about Santa Barbara's cancellation and it being replaced by game shows. Read that Scrabble and Scattegories were in the running along with new episodes of Classic Concentration and a game show called Swap Meet. And the article compared it to PIR. Looks like had that game show made it to air it would have changed the title due to TPIR having a game of the same name.

The Kennedy Price is Right was in the 80s. The most recent nighttime version was I. 1994-95 and it was cancelled for a year when this aired.
So weird seeing the networks using on screen bugs for a few seconds after commercials .
I was 21 when this was recorded.
THis is right around the time Barker gained extra notoriety for his cameo in Happy Gilmore.
