- A child prodigy at the age of 4, Eric Gales was taught by his left-handed brother to play the guitar upside down. Since signing with Elektra records at age 14, he has recorded with Lauryn Hill and Three 6 Mafia and been compared to Hendrix, but actually has a host of influences from every genre, from Jerry Reed to gospel. He has appeared on the Billboard charts under both rock and blues and has released 17 albums. He came to Tube Depot to perform three songs on October 7th, 2018.
Live at TubeDepot is a show committed to bringing you the best of both music and the tools musicians use to create it. Recorded Live at TubeDepot Studios in Memphis, Tennessee. Directed by Sarah Fleming. Sound Mix by Kevin Houston. Edited by Ben Siler. Executive Producers Christian Magee and Sean Denny. Performing with Eric Gales are Mrs. LaDonna Gales, Nick Hayes and Byron Carter.
"Oh Lord let your light shine despite me" - Eric Gales
Long live Mr. Gales
Deeeeep grooves and a strong message
I literally watch this every few days, so damn good i can't stop watching.
All of the tubes behind them exploded when he went into that HOLY FAK of a solo.
FANTASTIC AS USUAL!!!
THANX MUCH!
Please listen to this on an adequate sound system or you will lose out on the enormity, chunk n funk, sweet harmonic greatness that this band delivers EVERY TIME.
Seriously some of the deepest grooves i've ever heard. So So Sick
One of my favorite performances by EG. That solo gives me chills every time I hear it🔥🔥🔥🔥
Well done TD, late to the party but I did subscribe. Eric is my fav guitarist on the planet, and his voice is damn good as well
One of the Best! THX
Stretch out brother nothing wrong with diversifying!
Damn he sounds killer in there, a real treat. He looks clean and sober again and I like those lyrics 'I'm done standing in my way...'!
He was and he still is. Son and I have known him since 2008 hanging out in Memphis. I can tell you truly that he has grown more as a man in this time than he has as a musician ................. God bless he and LaDonna, he struck gold when he found her
@@porkbelly0713 I used to see him sit in with his brothers in the late 80s - early 90s on Madison Square. He was just getting sober again when I saw him around 2015 or so at Minglewood Hall. At least that's what he said on the stage and he almost cried talking about it. He signed the inside of the bottom plate of my early 70s Cry Baby wah pedal after the gig.
@@RockNRoller66 Too cool, it's a small world after all. Did you know Crafton Barnes ? Son and I played roadies for him a couple of times at Minglewood, I forget the year, and then again at Levitt Shell for the Transformation release party. He gave my son Arthur Smith a credit on the inside CD sleeve of Transformation for working on his website. He is a wonderful example of a grateful human being. I finally got to meet Eugene and Danuel at the chicken wing festival in 2010 or 2011. But I never got to meet Manuel (Little Jimmy King) his half brother. He passed on in 2002 and I believe he would have been just as good as Eric. Take care, cheers from Alabama
@@porkbelly0713 Cool story. I remember seeing Little Jimmy King at some of the those same gigs here in Memphis back in the 80s. He was about a year older than me and I've been playing since 1973. I see where that Crafton Barnes got his face bit off. If he was one the ones at that Recording Studio off Lamar and Airways then I probably met him recording with the Devil Brothers back in the early 90s. It was Easley's back then I think. I rehearse in this 4 story building where a bunch of bands rehearse just a few doors down west of Minglewood. I can go anytime day or night and get as freaking loud as I want. I do a lot of amp and speaker testing down there. Hope everything gets back to normal soon. Take care dude!
Tremendous
Wow he's great
Bravo!!
Not to take away from the great guitar playing, but here is some tasty bass.
Damn Skippy buddy. Bassist is a true champ!
Drummer and bass player seem to be twins. Not for the looks but for the tight rythm.
gotta have a tight rhythm section for the guitar to sound good too!
Nice!! 🔥🔥🔥
