Where is "there"? I have a feeling the impetus of the question was not on the location so much as the composition of the audience. So why is it brave to talk to Black people? Why is it brave to speak at an event centered around Black engagement and professionalism? What is brave about speaking to Black people? Brave in the sense of facing your fears? Brave in the sense of facing danger? Brave in the sense of willingly subjecting yourself to a stressful situation? Do Black people scare him? Does he feel like he's in danger around them? Does being in their presence stress him out? What is it about that situation that requires bravery?
