  • These Lawn Bowls Coaching tips are the first ever Coaches Corner video that I made. We walk through a few warmups and basic drills. From bowling to the ditch to rolling the jack with a follow up bowl, these lawn bowl drills are great for beginners.

Thanks so much - really appreciate the reminder that we need to warm up and will definitely include these drills into my game. The camera shots and angles are awesome.

      Thanks Anita, appreciate the comments.
For any newer videos, I’ll have a much better setup as I’ve got new cameras for streaming etc…

Here where I play in nz, warm ups are basically frowned on, you may get two practice ends in the P B A, and comps but alot of bowls just get straight into the game, I try to do warm ups off the green, arm rotation, crouching ect but if there's no rule saying you can't or time restrictions im for it, thanks for the info.

Hey Robby. In Melbourne (each state has different rules), we’re allowed to have warmups prior to the start of pennant games. Tournaments / Competitions we aren’t allowed, so can work sometimes, others not.

Thank you for the video. I always warm up and do my stretches. My routine helps me get into the game quick. I don’t know why others don’t warm up but they are missing out.

Completely agree. I don’t know why nobody does it, although I got a bit slack last season and ended up tearing cartlidge in my knee!
