Une Rose is like one of those amazing movies that is everybit a masterpiece but no one ever talks about it because everyone is too enamoured by another movie but the same actor which happens to be more popular.
While Portrait of a lady gets all the accolades I think Une Ropse is one of those that really needs to be appreciated!

Hi AC! I am a woman and this is my no 1 rose fragrance! I don't like sweet musky roses, but I don't like spicy ones either, I have some chypre roses which I like, but ''Une rose'' is ''The Rose Fragrance''. I do agree that it has no gender, it is pure elegance and more fresh than dark for me. I loved your review! ''Une rose'' is in the top 3 of all of my fragrances (and I have a big collection). Thanks for all your reviews, I enjoy them a lot! I also love your flowersthat you always have in the vase! Feels like I can smell them!
And my dear friend AC, I forgot to mention, I agree with you and I always buy the smallest possible bottle of niche fragrances, (since I am afraid my fragrances will outlive me, I am 49 and I have too many). But! I have dared buying the 100 ml of Une rose! Yes I did!!!
This is just as good as POAL, yes. Very underrated.
You really are the gentleman-scholar of this community, AC. A natural educator when it comes to perfume history and taste without being inaccessible.
Anyway, you are also one of the few people turning me onto Rose as a big player. Plan to do some sampling soon that definitely includes HDP Fidelis, maybe some Malles, Santal Royal, and hopefully a Majda Bekkali. Sound like a good lineup? Wishing you good health!

Une Rose is an interesting topic amongst perfumistas here. I was repeatedly told the original formulation was legendary. I have been sampling this on and off and it is really pretty unisex. When anyone asks me about PDM Delina, I tell them to go for this one every single time if they want something that smells more natural.
You know I got the feeling that this was largely ignored by most in favor of POAL but great to know that there are quite a few admirers of Une Rose.
Absolutely love this scent. Pulls off the trick of creating a rose perfume that smells like a real bunch of roses with leaves and stems. Freddie Malle is probably the main reason I'm into niche perfumes and their Dries Van Noten, one of the greatest sandalwood scents in my opinion, is my default Sunday spray. It’s beautiful I purchased the body cream. It’s super decadent !. The perfect rose !. It’s hard to pull off a Rose scent . Other than dyptique ‘s rose .. this is def number one !
I just got a sample and was blown away at first spray. First thought was this is the most accurate real world rose I’ve smelled. Beautiful scent
I got Une Rose, L'Eau D'Hiver and Portrait Of A lady samples 3 weeks ago. I've tried these 3 the same day and honestly POAL blew me away even the 2 others were extremely good. Your accurate review makes me want to test it again and i will do it tomorrow!! What a description one more time, you definitely have one of the most finest noses of our community....

@@ACSmellsGood I tried POAL and Une Rose exactly in same time, one frag on each hand. I found Une Rose way sharper than the other one, maybe i made mistake to try them in same time, will make another test tomorrow but Une Rose only...

I love a good masculine rose., and Malle has a number of great choices. Haven't tried Une Rose, but Rose and Cuir is also excellent, and of course Portrait of a Lady.
Parle Moi de Parfums Une Tonne de Roses is one I enjoy.

Forgot to add I wear at work and seems to uplift people around me…’mmm beautiful’. Partner loves it, instant smiles..can’t get enough. But…Mostly I wear for myself… I just adore it, always a joy to wear… and all year round…

Man oh Man! I am so sorry that l am viewing this today. Been eyeing this for a long time, and now I am fortified with your positive view on this one. By the way brother, any possibility of a review of Aramis Calligraphy Rose. I feel that one too is a very good one. Not comparing the two though.

I know it's not a fair comparison but just wanted to know how is Taif Rose from ASQ. Where does it stand in comparison to this.
Hi Anand, Taif rose is a different sort of smell to the one used here.
AC, if you ever get a chance I would be curious to hear your thoughts on the current version. I just bought a 10ml and I 'feel' its a bit watered down.

Haha slow down Fahim, always go slow. This one is no way near those two you mention, its very unique and as I said exquisite mate, but dont rush and buy this, its expensive! Get a decant instead.
