For the last 20+ years I have always played Mizuno forged irons, hit the 921 Hot Metals demos at my club today, and I have to tell you I experienced exactly what he said. They had the feel and sound of forged and the ball went far, high, and straight. I ordered my next set.
i have forged mizuno blades that i got used, i am just not good enough to use those (obvisously) do you think my game will improve if i switch to these hot metal clubs?
Just got fitted yesterday. Tried 6 different clubs and these felt the best. I was hitting some nice shots with them and what I like was when I moved to natural grass and hit one or two a little fat, the ball flight was still long and straight. I was also hitting them far, and as someone else noted, the companies have made the lofts stronger on many clubs to get more distance, but without sacrificing height. My fitter thinks I'll only need 12 clubs not 14. He said "I can sell you more clubs if you want but I don't think you need them".
Just bought a set 5-PW plus GW. Got them fitted to +1.5. Tested these mizunos, Cleveland and taylormade. I loved these the best so should be here in 6 weeks!!! Can’t wait.

Interesting. Am contemplating moving on from my apex cf19 to find something sleeker, better feel and good performance. Of course there is the new Taylor made irons to now compare with. The one that i have loved but pricey is the pxg gen 3 p. Outstanding looks and feel and great performance. Would be interested to know what you think about how these would compare and which models. Unused to game the p760 which I loved but lost a little distance only. Looks and feel were great and workability too.
They are very nice clubs with a good 'feel' and look great. I almost bought a set recently but...I tried these and the comparable Callaway Mavrik irons recently at major golf retailer. Hit several shots with my old TaylorMade 7 iron then the JPX921Hot Metal, and Marvik, with the new clubs adding 20 -30 yards further carry to that of my old 7 with very little improvement if any, in dispersion. Then I asked about loft specs of the new clubs. Well no wonder the yardages were better.....They are the same specs as my old Taylormade 6 IRON!!!. Does this sort of "deception' piss anyone else off too?
I hear you. I came back to golf after not playing for about twelve years and bought a set of Hot Metal Pro irons. They’re great irons but I don’t put any stock in how far I hit each club based on the number stamped on the sole. In fact, the strong lofts take a bit of getting used to, my 5 iron looks like a long iron and that’s not good for my confidence. Still, I love the look, feel and performance.
That is correct. The Hot Metal irons are the game improvement model in the JPX 921 family. Here are the offset measurements for each Hot Metal club: 4 Iron: 0.224" Offset 5 Iron: 213" Offset 6 Iron: 0.201" Offset 7 Iron: 0.189" Offset 8 Iron: 0.173" Offset 9 Iron: 0.154" Offset Pitching Wedge: 0.150" Offset Gap Wedge: 0.134" Offset Sand Wedge: 0.138" Offset Lob Wedge: 0.063" Offset

Just custom ordered a set with you folks!
How long did it take for you to receive your new irons

Mizuno JPX 921 Hot Metal is perfect Iron set for me I just traded in my Sim2 max iron set. Hitting further and more forgiving also feel firmer.
I just got them Stock ... The Best Irons I’ve Ever Hit !
I have these still sitting in my closet ( brand new, never hit yet ) Still playing the JPX 900 hot metals.
You consider selling them or you using them now?
@@adrianh520 I upgraded to the Callaway Apex 21’s. More forgiving and better setup visually.
@@rushfanjames2112 How much you sell those JPX?
@@adrianh520 Pretty much a straight trade. 2 sets for 1 And some extra stuff.
I bought the 4-pw from TGW. I really like these clubs after retiring my old Ping G's. They feel good off the face and seem to keep shots straighter.

Great clubs, I bought a set about three weeks ago, couldn't be happier.
How much for a set of these?

Why don’t pros use these clubs then? Why do they use blades or the Jpx tour ?

Forget the clubs, where’d you get that shirt
Great video as usual. I have similar swing speed. I'm guessing this is for a mid to high handicap golfer.
How much offset does it have also.

Rick your swing is so shallow and different! I gotta stay your swing looks pretty sweet! It's like your just coming in so smooth and low!
Great review as always Rick, looks a great iron! On looks up with T400!
Rick hasn't met a club he didn't like. Ha.
What is the difference between the 921 Hot Metal and the Hot metal Pro?
The Hot Metal Pro has a more compact club head and less offset. Otherwise, the materials, technology, and features of the irons are the same.
I've hit both. Take the Hot Metal and make it harder to hit and you'll have the Hot Metal Pro
@@dj_all_day_66 pro is harder to hit?
@@CTOInformation yes. The pro has less offset and doesn’t perform as well on miss hits.
I hit both today. I hit the Hot Metal 4-6 yards further than the Hot Metal Pro.
Left handed options?
Yep! just got mine.
I’m torn, I went into the shop thinking I was going to get the taylormade p770 but these seem like I’d benefit more from them.. too many choices !
i know eh.. as soon as i think i've got a set locked in my mind.. i find out about another set that makes me question what i really want lol
I did exactly the same thing, was going to buy the P770 irons, walked out with the Mizuno irons, I couldn’t be happier 5 months on.
Great review, tempted to order these in 4-PW 🤔
I’ve got mine ordered since around 2 weeks ago - I’ll let you know how they perform!
@@Blairjamieson1 enjoy, ordered mine last night should be here in next couple days cannot wait to play with them 👍
