Was just fitted for the Mizuno JPX Hot Metal 921 4-PW. Project LZ 6.0 black shafts and MCC Plus 4 grey grips. I tested almost every club (Callaway, Ping, Taylormade, Titlist, etc... and went with Mizuno. Up until the fitting I had never even had a Mizuno club in my hands. Absolutely love these new irons!
Tried them, and immediately got fitted and ordered them, unbelievable club. Changing from Ping G410 which themselves are very good, but these are special.
@@rosspurchase9022 I ordered the Hot metal, tried the forged and pro but the HM’s were just so easy to hit and forgiving. The feel was nearly as good as the forged in my opinion.
I went to get fitted for the g710 but I hated the feel so much in the hands and sounded like plastic clicky Ended up getting the hot metal 921 same exact performance for me with the hm pro and hm but the very slighty larger face gives me more confidence so went with the reg hm
Absolutely love the hot metal pro Just Enough of extra loft to give me the yardage I needed and unbelievable feel. I am a 14 handicap and these irons make me feel like a pro.
Spooky that I came across your review a week after getting fitted for the Pros. Your comments are just as I found when trying all the new clubs that have come out this year - these were ahead of everything in feel, balance, feedback and they look good too. Age is catching up and I’ve gone for the Tensei CV graphites which look like they’ll give me back the 10-15 yds that I’ve lost over the past 5 years. These are replacing a set of Taylormade M3s.....now going cheap!
Last summer I switched from JPX919 forged with project x LZ 5.5 steel shafts to the JPX 921 hot metal with Recoil ESX 460 F3 graphite shaft. As a 65 year old, I love the hot metal. The slightly “bulkier” head is not a problem for me. The performance is amazing
the first 5 minutes of this video is one of the most convincing arguments for buying a set of irons I have ever seen on RUclips. As Lewis said why would you look at anything other than these clubs. they are just incredible!
We never had such a selection of great irons as we do now , 5 years ago each manufacturer had 1 decent club at least in the line up ,drivers were eclectic and very common to see mixed bags on the course , now they all have good ranges of irons and the woods just as good , you watch any review of drivers the top drivers has one from each company and they are splitting hairs within 5-10 yards difference , the iron line ups are all good with something for everyone , apart from the pricing what a time to play golf , all we need now is some consistency in the teaching , it seems as usual every pro, coach has the best swing technique and they all contradict each other , all we want to do is hit it straight .
I tried the Hot Metal Pro and was duly impressed with the performance. I decided to replace my MP 20 HMB and ordered 6 through U with Nippon 950 Neo soft stepped one club. Now waiting “patiently” for a delivery from Mizuno.
Decided to get a new set of clubs after playing my MP-14s for years. (Older now, slower swing, stiff shafts etc) Tried various (blade like appearing) clubs and kept going back to the 921HMP. Consistency, feel, distance, all continued to impress me! Ordered a set a week ago! Now, waiting like a kid, on Christmas morning!!!
I have Callaway X-Forged irons from 2005 with Dynamic Gold 300S stiff shafts. I’m 57 now and my 7-iron carries 140 yards; about 10 yards shorter than 15 years ago. I hit the Mizuno Hot Metal Pro 7-iron today and averaged 162 yards (+22 yards). No brainer indeed. These will be my new clubs for 2021.
I'm in the same boat. Just went for a fitting, I thought for sure I'd be in the Forged but got fit into the hot metal pro. Can't wait for them to arrive!
Same, slightly higher handicap and came down to the hot metal pro vs a ping g425. Just ended up going with which felt better to me personally. Now the long wait for them to come in...
I looked n looked at every make and price. I wanted the Mizuno JPX Hot Metal but the $1100 for 5 thru PW..GW was for off the shelf standard irons. I went with the Cobra Speedzones being discounted at $86 per club including my own custom specs. I'm happy with Cobras new blingy carbon topped irons. Best cavity back I ever hit. I've played my fathers hand me down 1971 Palmer Standard blades since mid 90s. Cobras are a huge improvement for this 15 handicapper that was using ancient small blades. I expect my handicap to be around 10 to 12 in a short time period
Always a great honest review! Just fitted for 4,5 & 6 Hybrid & 7 - GW irons. Been a ping guy forever but these were impressive. 16.5 Handicap. Greetings from Canada!!
Hi, what's the difference please between the HOT METAL and the HOT METAL PROS. I play off 16 handicap and want ro purchase this set of 921s. Just don't know whether to get the HOT metals or the pro. Is it just the pros are slightly less forgiving and more slimmer profile. Any advice would be appreciated thank you
Unbelievable club, during fitting tried every conceivable club going for mid handicapper and these where so effortless to strike and look great. Ordered and cannot wait to receive.
I switched from Callaway Razor x to Mizuno JPX 919 HotMetal irons. During the fitting with new models from other top brands, the 919s were more forgiving and performed equally or better than all the rest. These irons amaze me very time I go out. Best feeling and performing irons I ever played. If the 921 are better than 919s it really is a no brained! Bonus, they are beautiful 😍
I know this review is a year old but I currently play the Callaway Razr X as well and looking to upgrade irons, and the 921s are definitely on my list to go try out!
Looking at the forged. I currently play with Callaway XR Pro irons which have served me well. Going for a Mizuno fitting on Monday, will be interesting to feel the difference between my current irons the HM pro and the Mizuno forged irons. They look great and I can’t wait to test them.
Went to a fitting and the JPX921 Hot Metal were the irons that won out. I also play JPX800 Pro Forged. Considering a change soon to the JPX921 Hot Metal for distance and better dispersion than current set. Great view.
I changed from Yonex CB701 Forged (No feel) to the Mizuno JPX 921 Hot Metal 5-PW. Fitted with Recoil ESX F2 shafts (A). Love the clubs, they feel so much better and I hit them straight. Might consider the gap wedge as an addition.
I still bag the old JPX 800 HD irons. In my opinion these are still the most forgiving and best feeling of the JPX series. Will still the check out the new Hot metals. They do look inviting.
Just came from my fitter this last weekend. I couldn't believe how these irons feel. I have been a Taylormade guy for years. I have these on order. I was hitting a consistent 7 iron 180 yards, even on the slight mis-hits with no more than a +/-7 yard variance from center. I just can't believe how well these feel, how well they sound, and the confidence they will be bringing to my bag. I'm a 15 Hcp, 50 years old, and these make me feel like I'm 30 again hitting a club.

I picked up my new forged irons yesterday and can't wait to get out and play. The feel and performance are phenomenal on the range let's hope it is the same on the course
Hi Andy. Went for a fitting on Sunday. Wanted the P790. Tried them, the Hot Metal Pro and Callaway Apex. The Hot Metal Pro was by far the better club, both in feel, in data and in looks. I really recommend them to all who are looking. Slightly thicker top line than the forged but for me, more forgiving and more confidence inspiring. My fitter was recommending a combo set with the forged in the 9, PW and gap and the HMP 8 upwards but there was only a 7 iron to test. I’m wavering but will probably go the whole set of HMP.
I’ve ordered the 921 forged and amazingly I’ve replaced my hybrid with a hot metal 3i as well. To clarify the hot metal 3 is actually a 4i with 1 degree adjusted loft. A little funky but amazing performance. 😳 Mizuno has really done an amazing job with this line. I fully expected to be unimpressed, yet found myself almost speechless. Thank you kindly for the videos.
I've been playing the JPX 900 hot metal since Mizuno introduced them. Excellect all around clubs and really provide great results from off center strikes.
The JPX 900 HMs must be the real deal bc I've noticed they still cost nearly as much as the 919 HMs. I actually prefer the looks of the 900's, over the 919's & 921's.
I was fitted back in August for a new set of 921 HM with Recoil shafts. These are by far the best Mizuno’s yet for the GI category. Sound, looks, feel and performance is amazing. Feeling a bit longer then the 919, but much better sound and feel for sure. Loft changes have been medicated by towering flight giving you wonderful stopping power, even on hard dry greens here in September in upstate NY. Have not played with a 4 iron in a while but this is a keeper, so easy to hit. Also the new Gap wedge is just marvelous! To the Average Golfer keep up the good work and enjoy your channel. Cheers
I am playing the JPX 850 forged irons now. I love them. The feel from these irons is amazing and I played the Mizuno MP68's before the 850's. I am very impressed with the Mizuno JPX line. The performance is amazing. My handicap is 8, my age is 69. I still have my MP68's and game them once in a while too. Mizuno keeps hitting home runs. I wonder if it is worth upgrading to the 921 irons. Maybe I'll do a comparison between my 850 forged 6 iron and the 921 forged 6 iron to make a good comparison.
I was fitted last year and wanted the 919 forged, however I left my ego at the door and bought the 919 HM Pro's the result has been that at 61 I've come back down to 6 from 8 which would also very likely be 5 if I could get used to putting with the flag in from close range. I've still got MP54's which I can't get anywhere near the HMP's as for my TP11's don't go there.
Just got fitted for HMP yesterday. Been playing MP-57's since 08', All I can say is WOW. I couldn't believe the feel, performance, and looks. The 57's felt like swinging bricks afterward.
Just bought the Hot Metal 921 irons and got them at the weekend. Played on Sunday, best first impression ever, without doubt. Beautiful looking, lovely feel and very good distance. And, astonishingly for me, I hit them all pretty straight.
after 20 years of not playing, and learning on blades mind you, I narrowed it down to the 921 Hot Metal, Wilson D9, and a Cobra model in lefty. Once I got my grip and swing back, these really do feel very smooth and comfortable to hit. I went full Mizuno with a wedge and woods too, and couldn't be happier. These should last me the rest of my playing days.
Just bought a set 6-let. Custom fitting. Selected the 921 hot metal because it out performed Callaway Mavrik, Ping 710, Callaway Big Bertha, Cobra, and Taylor Made
Got fitted and what a difference these make, shortlisted 2 sets the 921 HM and Cobra Radspeed the Mizuno's gave me a higher flight and an a steeper decent plus so sweet to hit, the 921 HM were ordered
Just went and got fitted and the 921 was my winner. I was not manufacture biased and just asked to fit what worked best. It came down to a 5-2 split in the hot metal and forged. They were 10 - 13 yrds farther with less dispersion and more spin then the next closest competition. But the real sale was the feel. Most of the clubs felt like swinging a stick where as the 921s I could really feel the club head and could feel how it was reacting through the swing. The shaft may have helped a lot there as well. The N.S. pro modus 3 tour 105 stiff.. once again the feel in this combo for me was off the charts
Update from my previous comment below. I finally received my Mizuno JPX 921 Forged irons, due to the pandemic delivery took around 10 weeks. I have to say it was well worth the wait. What an iron, they look and feel fantastic. The performance of these irons are the best I have ever owned in 30 years of playing the game. Do not be put off by the smaller profile. I play off of a 11 handicap and these irons perform so well. Ball flight and decent angle are great. I went for the Recoil F3 graphite shafts on the advice of the fitter, which to be honest I wasn't sure about to begin with.
Mizuno offer these shafts at no extra cost! My ball speeds and distance have increased across the board and this demonstrates the importance of being custom fit when choosing any club. If you are considering a new set of irons then give the Mizuno JPX921 range a try.
I bought my Mizuno Hot Metal Pro lasts year the JPX 919 and have compared it to the new 921 and found very small, if any difference, but I can tell you this when I was looking at the 919 HM Pro I was also trying the Callaway APEX pro, and the Srixon Z 785 and found that the JPX 919 Hot Metal Pro, which again I've found to be as good or very similar to the 921 Pro, to be my choice due to performance, feel, and looks. Like the Average Golfer, as soon as hit the golf ball I fell in love with it, and have been extremely happy with them all year. Try them all for comparison keeping an open mind and go with what fells, preforms and fits you the best then go out, and be a happy golfer.
I am currently waiting for custom Hot Metal Pro irons with UST Mamiya Recoil graphite shafts. I did test all four models, and for me it came down to the extra distance (stronger lofts) the Hot Metals had over the Forged. The feel of the Forged was just slightly better than Hot Metal but not a big difference. Both models hit the green and stop on one bounce. They both look handsome.
I went to get fit for the 921 forged and ended up with the 921 HM Pro. I actually preferred the HM Pro at address and found them to be better feeling, more forgiving, and longer with more backspin as well. Ball speed is incredibly consistent across the face. These are absolutely the best irons I've ever hit.
Same here. I was about to order the 921 forged. I've always hit forged Mizunos. I tried the HMP and loved the swing feel-- I could track the head better which helped my tempo. And, they are so easy to hit. Great choice
Struggling myself on this right now. Got fit for the HMP on Monday but didn’t get a chance to hit the forged. I’m coming off playing ping I20s for years so despite hitting the HMP well I’m worried about the difference in soles, think it’s worth trying to hit the forged first? I’m a 13 HC or so..
Been playing Ping i series (i5 and i25) for years...but am in my early 70s now, and needing more distance. At a fitting the Mizuno Hot Metals out-performed everything else the fitter put me through. So I ordered the gap wedge through 7 iron, with graphite shafts. Incredibly easy to hit--high and straight. Hit the 7 iron 15 yards farther than my i25 Ping. Best feeling non-forged iron I"ve tried. And was able to hit fades fairly well, though normally I hit a draw. Though there's definitely less side-spin with these. Only downside: the 6 to 8 week wait for arrival. Can't wait!

Just got fitted and ended up with JPX HM pro 4 to 6 and Forged 7 to PW with the team at CMT down the gold coast setting out a package to match anything out there these days. The team at CMT came in well under most other suppliers pricing and went the extra mile as always. Cant wait for the custom set delivery. Gained at lest two clubs on my old JPX 825 pro set and the spin rate was right up at the top end. Cheers and Beers Mizuno and team CMT Australia on the gold coast. regards Steve
Have a set of hot metal pros on order and am anxious to put them in bag and get them on the coarse. Am a single handicapper and been swinging Adams a12 pros for 4-5 years. During fitting , these had best numbers and felt easy to hit. Turn 70 this summer and looking to hit something more forgiving but still able to produce variety of shots. Came down to Mizunos and Taylormade p790 ,and could very easily gone with TM. HM pros just felt a bit more to my liking. Will just have to see how they perform on the coarse.
I actually chose the hot metal pro over the forged two weeks ago. I hit the hot metal pros better and the difference in feel was not enough to sway me. I’ve played a forged iron for the last several years and these hot metal pros feel amazing for a non forged iron.
I was fitted for the hot metals and just got them in today. When I was with my fitter he told me to cut down on my swing with these, was carrying my 7 iron 195 yards consistently without sacrificing my launch angle. I believe these are going to stick to greens well. Can’t wait to get them on the range and get all of my distances.
Same here man, tested out bunch of irons yesterday and bought the HM’s. I was hitting 7 iron 185-195 regularly somehow. Looking fwd to playing with them

Hi Andy great review... I've been a PXG die hard for 4-5 years have had the GEN 2 GEN 3 GEN 4 irons and i liked them alot.....but i am going next week to get fitted for one of three irons....PING G425....MIZUNO JPX 921 HOTMETALS....SRIXON ZX4 and see if they feel better and are more forgiving than the PXG....Going into it with an open mind... wish me luck..lol.....cheers from Canada
Thanks for the great review Andy. I currently play with Ping G irons and am in the market for a new set. I’ve never tried Mizuno’s before but the Hot Metal (or possibly even the HM Pro as I only plan on getting 6-GW) are definitely on my short list. However tempted I am to take the plunge right now, the Ping fan in me is making me wait for the release of the G425 so that I can compare them both - would be great to see you do a future video with a head to head of these two sets in the future please.
Tested the ping g710 which I originally wanted but the feel and sound on the hot metals were much better in my opinion and ended up getting the hot metal jpx 921s the pings felt and sounded plasticy
I think that is one of the goto orders for this year. I'm a 919 Hot Metal Pro player, bent mostly 2 degrees weaker to the 919 Forged spec, and love them - but ultimately replaced the 5 iron with an HMB 5 iron so I didn't have to see the back of the club. I hit the 921 Forged yesterday and the 31 degree 7 iron was hitting my 32 degree HMP number perfectly - and you can't see the back of the 24 degree 5 iron. I hit the KBS C-Taper X but would order the AMT White X for that lighter 5 iron shaft - perfect choice you made
@@ianbyram1583 thanks ian. I am going for a fitting in a few weeks (if things open up) and am seriously considering these. never had mizunos but have always wanted a set. question is whether i go for the hot metal or the hot metal pro? I play of 12 hcap
@@peterkelly9655 hi. I am a high handicap golfer 😞 so I went for the hot metal. But I think you should try both and see how you get on. But either way I don’t think you will be disappointed. Please let me know what you decide on
I went for a fitting and hit the hot metal and fell in love. I guess I tried the hot metal pros also. They are very similar felt a lot alike. I tried a few others with no success. these clubs are better hands down. Then the T300 or the T400 no comparison the Mizuno is so much better feel and feedback from the clubs they just have that click when you hit them, and very forgiving. I bought the JPX 921 Hot Metal love em! I traded my Callway Mavic's in, these are so much better feeling SWEET! I went for this fitting after seeing your review. Just an Average Golfer great review!!
I have just tested the Hot Metal irons during an indoor fitting session with my pro and they felt excellent. I was hitting the ball significantly longer and straighter than my 10+ year top flite irons (which despite the name have done me very well). I also tested the Hot Metals against the Ping G425 irons and I was hitting the Hot Metals a good 5-10 yards further, and 2-3 yards straighter. They also filled me with a lot of confidence behind the ball and the feel was excellent. I would recommend these to anyone consider a new set of irons, they feel like a game-changer!
I just did a fitting too and thought I wanted the sim2 max irons but ended up hitting those poorly. Hit several different clubs and narrowed it down to these! They felt amazing and hit the longest and had the closest grouping.
I was tested, and bought, the HM Pro. The 7 iron had an average spin rate of 6350 with a steep decent...THAT will hold the green..The PLAYERS game improvement iron...I will NOT be changing irons anytime soon...
I was just in my local Edwin Watts and was looking at used iron sets. They must have had at least 10 sets of used Mizuno irons including several sets of these JPX 921 Hot Metals. Used sets of the 921 Hotmetals were over $1000 for anywhere near a full set. My question would be, if Mizuno irons are so great, why so many close to new sets traded in?? Way more than any other brand except maybe Callaway. Full Disclosure, I own a set of JPX 900 forged, with graphite shafts. I like them, but I don't love them. I'm probably not a good enough ball striker for them. They feel great when I hit them right, but not so much when you mis-hit them at all, with lost distance as well. Looking to trade them in for a used set of Ping G425's when I find the right set.
I've just come across this channel and I'm loving it but I have some catching up to do. I've just replaced some Taylormade M6 irons with the 921 Hot Metal irons and the difference is night and day - for me at least. I absolutely love the 921's on the range and can't wait to see what they do on the course. They are so easy to hit, look fantastic and go a long way! Definitely worth a try!
Currently hitting Mizuno jpx919 hm pro. They are very good irons. JPX921evolution improves these irons. I am debating mixing my hm pro irons with the Mizuno jpx21forged irons. Looks like a nasty combo.
I love Mizunos and thought they were going to be my next iron, but after testing them out, they didn’t work for me…I was bummed…but, love the clubs I was fitted for and they weren’t even on my radar. Just goes to show, you need to test clubs before buying!
@@William_Saint-Agne Titleist T200s. Sorry. Didn’t include that because they hadn’t arrived yet and I hadn’t had a chance to play them. Since I received them, they have been awesome!
I currently game the 919 H/M Pro 6-PW and regular H/M 4-5. Previously played several different Ping sets but Really like these. In fact I’m putting together a new second set for the vacation home and I’m going to finally replace my Florida Pings with the regular 921 H/M in 6-PW. IMO both models are very similar in the lower irons. It not until around the 6 or 5 before the difference is overtly discernible.
I am buying a set of JPX921 HMB from a store in Seattle area. I could only try the seven iron, as they did not have other iron heads. I am getting 5 thru GW and will play them as 4 thru PW, as the lofts are much stronger than my old callaway X18 irons. Do love the feel and hopefully I will like all the other clubs too.
Just ordered mine with the same set up. What else is in your bag? I have 20 degree ping hybrid, Mavrik 5w and 3w...not sure my gapping is going to make sense anymore.
@@toddmonroe1415 Hi Todd, I got the Mizuno 5 thru GW with Graphite recoil shafts. They are quite forgiving and cut thru grass very well. I had the 5, 6 and 7 irons adjusted: 2 degrees weaker lofts on these three clubs, I then got a Mizuno CLK 4 hybrid, 22 degrees loft and graphite shaft. Also have a Cobra womens 5 fairway wood: graphite shaft and 18.5 degrees loft. Then a 10 degree cobra FlyZ driver.Only hit driver 200-205 yards. I am 71 and sometimes think I could use a 3 wood, but really don't think I need it/
Pretty honest review. I’m planning on changing my irons this year and need to decide whether it’s the forged or hot metal pro. Sounds like the HM are the ones. Currently got jpx 850 forged.
Tried many clubs during fitting and nothing compared to the results I got with the HMP irons. My game has changed considerably and adjustments had to be made with distances. My new 150 yd club is a 9 iron, it was a 7 iron previously. Very forgiving if you’re off center, but still great performance even for a low handicapper. I highly recommend these irons, they’ve improved my game considerably.

@@richardking8879 he says it in the first couple of minutes of the video. Only difference is the size of the club face i.e. The pro is smaller so maybe a tad less forgiving. That's all
I’m getting fitted this week. These or sim max. First new gear since 2007. Picking up a stealth driver as well. How many strokes can I expect to shave off my game getting fitted in driver, 3 wood, essentially full bag other than putter and wedges?
Toss up between Hot Metal (standard) and SIM OS any comments. Senior golfer (67) changing to graphite shafts due to joint issues. Cant get out yet to try these. HM fitted with recoil exs and SIM Ventus blue. Leaning towards HM. Any comments welcome.
Got fitted for the hot metal 921 irons And the Big Bertha B21 Driver and 3 wood. Only issue is they are all taking a long time to arrive. Was told 2-3 weeks for the hot metals. Then told 4-8 weeks so I don't know. Also told up to 5 weeks for the Big Berthas. Feel like winter will be here before my new clubs will be.
@@lildvl10 treated myself to new clubs and my first ever fittings. I went and got fitted for a putter today. Ended up getting the Scotty Cameron fastback 1.5. supposedly only. 2 week wait on the Scotty.
I went for a fitting and hit the forged and fell in love but could not manage the price tag. I guess I should have tried the hot metal pros also. They look similar with a smaller price tag.
Really like the look of these irons & certainly are now top of the list to try, our pro shop has just become a Mizuno fitting centre & the range look amazing on the shelves they are a bit pricey mind.
Got fitted for a hybrid set of JPX Hot Metal irons a week ago. Was instantly struck by the feel of the Clubs. Never tried Mizuno before but they are right ....."Nothing feels lika a Mizuno". Competitive price point too compared with many others. Cant wait for delivery now. Lewis's take was interesting. and reassuring. Do like your channel Andy.
Was just fitted for the Mizuno JPX Hot Metal 921 4-PW. Project LZ 6.0 black shafts and MCC Plus 4 grey grips. At fitting three weeks ago (still waiting for custom order) was amazed at how high the HM flew compared to my Mizuno 800s of several generations past.
I game these… couldn’t be happier. I absolutely love the feel and the performance. Especially with the 4 and 5 iron… pure joy to hit!
Intrigued to know how you are getting on with your HMP 💁♂️
Decided to get a new set of clubs after playing my MP-14s for years. (Older now, slower swing, stiff shafts etc)
Tried various (blade like appearing) clubs and kept going back to the 921HMP. Consistency, feel, distance, all continued to impress me! Ordered a set a week ago! Now, waiting like a kid, on Christmas morning!!!
Did exactly the same!
Me too lol - graphite recoil 95s - how are you getting on with yours guys?
I have Callaway X-Forged irons from 2005 with Dynamic Gold 300S stiff shafts. I’m 57 now and my 7-iron carries 140 yards; about 10 yards shorter than 15 years ago. I hit the Mizuno Hot Metal Pro 7-iron today and averaged 162 yards (+22 yards). No brainer indeed. These will be my new clubs for 2021.
Single digit hc, could not and still can’t believe the ones I ordered is hot metal pro. They felt fantastic and the numbers don’t lie. MTF
Hey there, I would love to see you play more people here in 2022. I love your short compact swing...same as me.
Wow! The sound of those hits! Swinging well Andy!
They did sound crisp!
Ordered and cannot wait to receive.
how are they striking for you now that youve had them for a while? im about to order a set
@@rough_hand still love them. Best thing you don’t have to swing too fast for a good strike…. Allows for better distance control …well sometimes 😂
Just ordered the JPX 921 Hot Metal Pro with the Recoil shaft, 6 iron thru gap. Looking forward to playing with them.
Great view.
Interested to know which shafts you got?
I changed from Yonex CB701 Forged (No feel) to the Mizuno JPX 921 Hot Metal 5-PW. Fitted with Recoil ESX F2 shafts (A). Love the clubs, they feel so much better and I hit them straight. Might consider the gap wedge as an addition.
I absolutely love my gap wedge from the 921 hot metals. 49 degrees, fits right in between their pitching wedge (44 degrees) and my 54 degree
OK, here's my opinion: There's Mizuno, and then there's everything else. And none can compare.
tom couldn’t agree more
Then there is PXG Gen3 irons... don’t say crap Until you hit them!
@@MXJEFF94 I buy my Mizuno's and play for a year...LOL

I got fitted for the pro this past weekend. Absolutely fabulous, great look, feel and performance. I can’t wait to get them on the course.
I just fitted fitted for the pros too. Can’t wait to play them!
How long did it take to get them? How have they performed in actual real golf?
I want the Hot metal combo with the 5 & 6 flihi hybrids.
Loft is one element of distance, angle of attack and club head speed are the main factors.
Just got fitted for HMP yesterday. Been playing MP-57's since 08', All I can say is WOW. I couldn't believe the feel, performance, and looks. The 57's felt like swinging bricks afterward.
Same, I've been playing MP58s just ordered HMPro last week!
I had the 919 blended HM / HMP. Was recently fitted for the new 921s and ended up with the Hot Metal from top to bottom
Whats your handicap if you dont mind me asking?
lildvl10 16 but mostly caused by poor chipping
Are your 919 for sale? What part of the world are you from?
@@andrec5455 I live in upstate NY. And yes I’d sell them
@@petertamburro6578 not sure how it would work. I'm in Manitoba Canada... not ideal especially during these time. How much would you sell them for?
Just bought the Hot Metal 921 irons and got them at the weekend. Played on Sunday, best first impression ever, without doubt. Beautiful looking, lovely feel and very good distance. And, astonishingly for me, I hit them all pretty straight.
How good is that! Enjoy Raymond!
after 20 years of not playing, and learning on blades mind you, I narrowed it down to the 921 Hot Metal, Wilson D9, and a Cobra model in lefty. Once I got my grip and swing back, these really do feel very smooth and comfortable to hit. I went full Mizuno with a wedge and woods too, and couldn't be happier. These should last me the rest of my playing days.
what wedges did you get?
I saw or heard somewhere that the hot metal range makes up more of mizunos iron sales than all the other models out together!
If you are considering a new set of irons then give the Mizuno JPX921 range a try.
getting fitted tomorrow by James at foregolf mate looking forward to trying them I used to have Mizuno years ago, and loved them
the graffite shafts are awesome
I got the Hot Metals in leftie and was just out hitting them at Bogside 😉. Love the feel and flight. Upgraded from M4s
Great irons, great course......
Is it me or does it sound like a Bruce Lee movie at the beginning 😂 great video as usual 👍🏻
hahhhhhahj that was good lol
😂
Was thinking the same thing lol
🤣🤣
You are right. From the narration and impact sound of the ball sounds like a kung fu flick.
I have HOT METAL and they are great! Amazing feeling in impact and fantastic performance. They added 10 meters of carry.
Just got fitted. They’re absolutely incompetent!
I ordered a set of Hot Metals. I had the old ones and loved them. Thanks for the great review.
I would pick between forge and hot medal pro and would choose the one I hit better

I went and tested the Hot Metal tonight, LOVED IT!
I just picked mine up today in Toowoomba, Australia. Playing in just over 14 hours. 😍
Steve…Just curious on what shafts you went with?…Thanks, Mark.
@@marklogan646 I went with the stock project x lz 6.0 shaft. It actually fit me great!

Don’t know why but could not hit them with wider sole . I hit the forged and tour a lot better both narrow soul . Fitting / tested on grass not mat
I just got fit into the 921 Forged with AMT White Stiff Shaft. Should also add I currently game the 900 Hot Metal.
I hit the KBS C-Taper X but would order the AMT White X for that lighter 5 iron shaft - perfect choice you made
I got fitted for these two weeks ago and I can not wait for them to arrive. They felt so good when I was getting fitted

these clubs are better hands down. Then the T300 or the T400 no comparison the Mizuno is so much better feel and feedback from the clubs they just have that click
when you hit them, and very forgiving. I bought the JPX 921 Hot Metal love em! I traded my Callway Mavic's in, these are so much better feeling SWEET! I went for this fitting after seeing your review.
Just an Average Golfer great review!!
They are the same club. Slightly smaller head on the pro. Just a preference thing.
I got fitted and could barely feel the difference of feel from forged vs Hot Metal; and Hot Metal was more consistent and half a club further
Me too only time in my life gone fitting and come away with cheapest option was convinced I was getting forged !!
I'm currently using P790's, but I'm seriously thinking of changing to the hot metal pro's...
I was planning to pick up p790’s until I hit these. :)
What did you finally got instead, if I may ask ?

Went for a JPX fitting intending to go for the HMP. Came away with Forged with a much softer feel.
Are these still your favorite irons? If not, please briefly explain, thanks!
I had the 5, 6 and 7 irons adjusted: 2 degrees weaker lofts on these three clubs,

I am 71 and sometimes think I could use a 3 wood, but really don't think I need it/
I was fit for the HM pros 4-gw. Tried 4 or 5 other brands but these just jumped out and grabbed me. Can't wait to hit them in about 3 weeks
Excellent review Andy. You were striping those irons!
Have you considered going up against Liam and the gang from Golf Mates? That would be awesome!

Then told 4-8 weeks so I don't know. Also told up to 5 weeks for the Big Berthas. Feel like winter will be here before my new clubs will be.
Got fitted last week and mizuno tolf me it’ll be 4-6 weeks
@@lildvl10 guess i will be waiting a while then.
brad miller worth the wait my dude
@@lildvl10 treated myself to new clubs and my first ever fittings. I went and got fitted for a putter today. Ended up getting the Scotty Cameron fastback 1.5. supposedly only. 2 week wait on the Scotty.
brad miller nice pick up man, scottys are great
what shaft was in this head when you tested it out? I can't find a stock black iron shaft for the hot metal anywhere.
Most likely is it was the Project X LZ Black metal shaft.
I went for a fitting and hit the forged and fell in love but could not manage the price tag. I guess I should have tried the hot metal pros also. They look similar with a smaller price tag.
Still sticking with my mp 20 mmc mb combo
How on earth did the 919 sound "tingy" to you? I thought those were incredible as well.
Probably a firmer ball. Soft ball on 919 is butter
Really like the look of these irons & certainly are now top of the list to try, our pro shop has just become a Mizuno fitting centre & the range look amazing on the shelves they are a bit pricey mind.
They are pricey but give them a try and negotiate hard!
Hope you enjoy them and glad you are enjoying the channel
The Tours look magnificent. Would a 12 handicapper be out of reach, you think?
