It’s a temporary thing to check the amount of traffic on a particular street. If the traffic gets too high, the RTA can make adjustments for a better flow.

It should be quicker to count. A simple yes/no as opposed to multiple electorates, candidates, preferences... Haha literally after I wote that, Antony said it... like, right after I hit send hahaha
It could take up to two weeks to get the results. Aussies DONATE blood products. On the TV they will tell you what blood groups are low. After you donate you are given something to eat and drink before you leave.

You need to compare AU$ prices to the US$ price with all the federal taxes and state taxes and tips all inclusive - because that is what the AU$ number is.
@16:09 - These are hydraulic/pneumatic hoses that are hooked up to a sensor box tethered to a post/pole. They primarily record the number of vehicles traversing the roadway, but the more advanced ones can determine direction, speed, mass, number of axles. The information provided can shape future route planning, road maintenance schedules, upgrades...
@@amadd5641 You anti-vax zealots can't help yourselves, can you? Totally unrelated to the O.P. Do you go on condolence channels and whine about your government deserting you?
Those mysterious rubber cords across the road are officially known as pneumatic road tubes. The technology they use is simple. Every time a vehicle's tires hit the tube, it sends a burst of air that triggers a switch, which then produces an electrical signal that's recorded by a counter device.
With blood donation, in Oz we give voluntarily for no payment. The "meal" is a snack, mostly to keep you from getting faint from the donation but also we have a culture of hospitality, so it is normal to provide a little something. The money that in USA goes to paying donors is in Oz probably what keeps the facilities modern and clean.
We donate blood and plasma volantarily as the Red cross supply the hospitals with the donations and the patients at public hospitals receive it at no cost. As for snakes my next door neighbor had a brown snake living under his veranda (porch) in the grease trap. The local fire brigade came out to try and find it, but it has gone. My neighbor found it and because it was a threat to his dog he relocated it (snakes are protected in Australia) to the bush. That is a traffic counter for the local government. Where I live the roads are a bit rougher than that one pictured.

You donated twice a week??? Wow, that would not be allowed in the Netherlands. As in Australia, donating here is voluntary and not paid. Mostly to avoid this kind of situations in which people donate up to it being unhealthy. Here you can donate plasma once a month and blood max three times a year. But most of the time it is twice a year. All to be sure the person donating is not affected. In return? Snacks to get some energy back before leaving and sometimes a small present when you hit a mark. I have had an umbrella and a water pitcher when I donated for 5 years or 50 times.
It's not pronounced Meelow, it's pronounced Mylow. The snake was a python, (my Aboriginal wife's tribal totum). It's a constrictor, so not poisonous. Vote is on Sat. 14th October. Australian time.
I was debating if I should tell him how to pronounce it, cause it made me laugh so much. He gets it right at the end anyways, so maybe he is making fun of what he first called it before being corrected
Continuing along the correction line, you mean the snake is not venomous ie if it bit you. .Poisonous would be if you were to eat it. Hope you dont think im trying to be picky bc i always said the same until somebody pointed it out to me and im grateful they did.
Left name is the Australian coffees. Right is the explanation for the non-coffee countries. We don't get paid for donating blood. We do it for free. They give us a coffee/tea/juice and some biscuits and cheese while we wait, or while we wait 15 minutes after donating to make sure we don't feel dizzy. I think he stepped on it on the way to the bathroom. A large quarter pounder meal upgrading the drink to a large Latte from the McCafe is $15.00 So I'm not sure what he did to that burger to make it that much with just a small coke. Looks like he added a lot of addons.
The black cables that run across the road measure traffic flow and the speed of the traffic and also aproximate vehicle size and type by weight and tire formation. Theyre used to determine whether a road needs upgrades, speed limit changes and what safety measures need to be put in place when road works are done for example.

Long comment incoming, regarding the 'black lines across the road'. 15:42 I used to work for a Local Government Council (Shire or Council, for those Aussies here) some time ago, and I can confirm, those 'two black lines' across the road are used for recording traffic data. Those black lines across the road are (usually) a single hollow tube which has a sensor in a box (which is missing in the photo pair shown) and goes around a fixed point, usually a signpost, and then sends an air pulse to the aforementioned sensor. Due to the length of the tube, the sensor can not only tell things like what side of the road a vehicle was travelling on, but also things like how many axles a vehicle had (like either a road-train or a motorcycle ex.) and how fast they were travelling - (they can measure speed for sure - I remember a reading on one for two vehicles, a stolen car and then a Highway Patrol, I found out later) - along with a few other things I'm sure I can't remember. With this data, in Australia anyways, a Council/Shire could vie for funding from the State to improve or rectify roads.
Don’t worry snakes can and do find their way into houses in Australia, one of my friends two cousins came home after a night down their local pub only to find their two cattle dogs were bitten and died in the kitchen from an eastern brown snake that found its way inside the house and I had a fat tiger snake that was living under my house that I tried to capture unsuccessfully for a couple of weeks until my wife rang me at work to tell me that a car ran over one out the front on the road which we were pretty sure was the one under the house, I must admit that it was a little bit worrying sleeping at night knowing there was one of the bastards underneath!
I throw 2-3 cans of spider or cockroach spray under my house when I see snakes. I mean the type where you lock the cap down and leave the room. 2-3 under your house will take out _everything-_ spiders, cockroaches, fleas, ticks, mice, rats and snakes.
One place I worked, we had 37 of us donating. We would get picked up & dropped back to our workplace every 3 mths. And yes they’re all that clean. Milo - Mylo
In the old days, 2 wires on the road meant it was a speedometer, where the speed was gauged from the time it took in between hitting the 2 wires. These days, there's usually only one and it counts the number of cars that use that road. They're usually attached to a small box of some kind.

@16:16 the black tubes that run across the road are traffic counters they are filled with air , as a car/truck drives over them the weight of the vehicle will push the air to 1 end and in turn presses a counter to count them its more reliable then paying people to sit and count cars. (they do this to determine the amount of traffic any given road receives)

Voice referendum voting happened today October 14th. Depending on how close the votes are, final answer could be as early as tomorrow or as late as 2 weeks. Also for rentals, we can fight the landlord, but the bond we pay when moving in, is then held until the issue is resolved.
another thing with the burger price, you have to remember, we don't do the whole tipping thing, so if you add 15-25% on what you thing that would be worth in the USA, then you can compare do the conversion and compare the prices. for a burger that size and what looks like it would be a very good burger, thats a good price. looks like its in a restaurant/pub/fancy burger place, $20 for a burger 'meal' like that is a decent price. for example, our local pub, which is a pretty cheap place to eat sell their burgers for $22 with a side of chips.
In Australia we pay our staff properly, we don't top, because of that we pay slightly more for the burger but without tip, works out about the same overall... Also I'd say that's hand made brioche and Wagyu meat, especially with the wanky wooden tray under it...

I rented a townhouse in Sydney a while back, through a realtor. When it came time to vacate, a chick from the realtor came over to do a final inspection. She had a long pole with her, which I was confused about. As she walked in the front door, she planted the pole down on the carpet. It left a black ring imprinted on the carpet. I didn’t say anything at first. When she was done, she said the bond would be returned “except for what’s needed to repair the cigarette burn in the carpet,” referring to the ring she had planted. I raised holy hell about it, reported it to the Gov board that runs the bond thing (I forget, they hold the bond). Apparently, as I found out, I wasn’t supposed to follow her in as she made the inspection. I caught her red-handed trying to scam us for at least $500 to repair the carpet. I don’t know if the realtor got smacked for it, I certainly hope they did.

Ryan, “Do Aboriginal people have equal rights in Australia? Indigenous peoples and individuals are entitled to the full enjoyment of human rights and fundamental freedoms recognised in international law, and also the right to be free from discrimination in exercising these rights.” The Voice means nothing without a lot more detailed explanations and their intended actions if it’s passed. Hi Ryan, the vote is today (Sat 14/10/23). We always vote on Saturdays. Brisbane lost the AFL and NRL Grand Finals this year. No, Australians do not get paid for donating blood or plasma. It is volunteered. That way, you don't incentivise drug addicts to give blood, which seems like a sensible approach to me. The "payment" was a bit of food and drink that presumably reduces the chance of people passing out after donating blood. Milo rhymes with silo. HSP is Halal snack pack, which is kebab meat, chips/fries and sauces in a foam box. Delicious. That thing in the road is for counting cars. They attach a box to it. It helps to plan the roads.
The vote did happen Ryan. The govt tried to divide Indigenous Australians and migrant Australians and Australians said NO. Good on ya Australia!! Proud of you.We stand together.
You are so tragically uninformed it's depressing. The division already exists. Indigenous people are the smallest population but the largest prison population, highest un-alive rates etc. Not to mention mining corporations that keep destroying their history - 40,000 year old rock art blown up with a slap on the wrist.

You don't get paid for blood and plasma donation. The food and drink is provided to get your energy levels back up
We donate blood and plasma volantarily as the Red cross supply the hospitals with the donations and the patients at public hospitals receive it at no cost.

I have had an umbrella and a water pitcher when I donated for 5 years or 50 times.
the cables across the road here in aus are to measure traffic flow. easy to see what roads need upgrading or not
It's not pronounced Meelow, it's pronounced Mylow.
Hearing meelo was grating my ears. ☹☹
I wish he would learn how to say emu not emoo. But I laugh too@@duncandownham4726
Continuing along the correction line, you mean the snake is not venomous ie if it bit you. .Poisonous would be if you were to eat it. Hope you dont think im trying to be picky bc i always said the same until somebody pointed it out to me and im grateful they did.
Yeah, those things are to measure how much traffic on particular roads and yes, there's normally a box attached to it.
I've seen a lot of road workers dance and sing when the queue of traffic sits and waits.

I used to work for a Local Government Council (Shire or Council, for those Aussies here) some time ago, and I can confirm, those 'two black lines' across the road are used for recording traffic data.
I went to vote right before watching this video. It’s happening
The voting is today and booths close in about 3 hours.
The snakes sliver under doors, through gaps and window.

In the old days, 2 wires on the road meant it was a speedometer, where the speed was gauged from the time it took in between hitting the 2 wires. These days, there's usually only one and it counts the number of cars that use that road. They're usually attached to a small box of some kind.

Gidday Rhino,
You’ve had a WIN!! The hamburger WAS invented in the us:
Charlie Nagreen
Known as "Hamburger Charlie", Nagreen claimed to have sold the first hamburger in 1885 at the Seymour Fair in Wisconsin. He flattened meatballs and put them between bread so people could eat them while walking around
the list on the left is Australian, some Aussie people got in trouble in America asking for a Long Black, I prefer a Short Black myself, Baby Cino is pronounced Chino, it's just frothed milk in a tiny cup for children. Flat White is just black coffee with unfrothed milk 😆
I donated regularly until the mad cow disease happened in the U.K. I lived I the U.K during that period I was excluded. We don’t get paid to donate blood or plasma. Depending where you donate depends on what food you get. I donated at main one in Melbourne and food was always good

another thing with the burger price, you have to remember, we don't do the whole tipping thing, so if you add 15-25% on what you thing that would be worth in the USA, then you can compare do the conversion and compare the prices.
for a burger that size and what looks like it would be a very good burger, thats a good price. looks like its in a restaurant/pub/fancy burger place, $20 for a burger 'meal' like that is a decent price.
for example, our local pub, which is a pretty cheap place to eat sell their burgers for $22 with a side of chips.
In Australia we pay our staff properly, we don't top, because of that we pay slightly more for the burger but without tip, works out about the same overall... Also I'd say that's hand made brioche and Wagyu meat, especially with the wanky wooden tray under it...
Voting has now closed on the East Coast and in Central Australia. It is continuing in Western Australia. It is possible that we won't know the result until late in the week as a record six million early votes were cast prior to polling day. Early votes do not start getting counted until Monday.
Not giving anything away Ryan but there is already an outcome as it is the type of voting that can be counted quickly unlike an election. The Prime Minister has already addressed the nation.
