    I have spent the last two weeks in RUclips looking for the best Chicken Lo Mein recipe.. I am not sure I have tried all of them. All of what i found were good (at least pretty good on some) When i found this recipe, first I tried it with out the rice vinegar and the wine. it was good, but when I tried it with the wine and vinegar, it was absolutely delicious.. if you make this recipe it is VERY well worth the trouble to add the wine and vinegar. Daylight and dark difference for flavor. This is the best Chicken Lo Mein recipe I found in fact today I made a double recipe of it. It is hard to quit eating it. the chicken is so tender.. The only thing I would change if this were my recipe is where he says the wine and vinegar are not necessary. Wally big thumbs up on this recipe

      😃 Hello Old Geezer! To be honest most Lo mein recipes use the same ingredients. What makes the difference is the person cooking it. So since you did the work then you should give yourself all the credit ✌️ Take care, stay healthy and thank you so much for watching 😄

    The best so far! People seem to want to over complicate things. This was very much just what you need to do very quickly and not the other BS. I did see one where they had a little bit of peanut butter to the sauce which I am about to try because I have not even cooked it, but it’s all prepped, but props to your video.

    One thing I've noticed from Chinese restaurants near me and my time working in many restaurants, if you can pound the chicken super thin before during your prep stage, the chicken cooks MUCH faster. This is good for 2 reasons... First, you save time, but second, the shorter the cooking time the more velvety and soft your chicken stays. If you don't pound the chicken it can get rubbery from cooking too long on high heat. Just my two bits. Nice recipe and finished product looks very nice.

    Can you use olive oil instead cooking vegetable oil? Or white flour instead of corn flour?
    This recipe looks amazing thank you!

    It's pricey now to order this.

    • @WallyCooksEverything
      @WallyCooksEverything  Год назад

      Hello, how's it going? You can but make sure it's a flavorless olive oil like light olive oil. White flour and corn flour are both sauce thickeners. However, cornflour (also called cornstarch) works better and you only need less. I've never eaten lo mein with sticky rice, but I have eaten it with fried rice 😆

      Hi Jasmine 😆 Yeah personally I like Tabasco sauce. The Chinese restaurants I ate in always had bottles of it. You can use up the whole bottle they wouldn’t care. I’d cover my entire plate of Lo mein with Tabasco sauce 😃 Thanks for watching and commenting Jasmine 🙏

      @@WallyCooksEverything my personal favorite hot sauce for low mein has to be hands down El Yucateco Red Chile Habanero Sauce. It’s so delicious. If you’ve never tried it before I highly recommend but be light handed because it’s kick definitely blows Tabasco out of the water lol. I’m the same way when it comes to my low mein I have to drown it in hot sauce. I think about the potential for heartburn or upset stomach later on😂 In the meanwhile I’m in low mein heaven. It was my pleasure watching your video. Keep up the great videos and content.

    I think I just found my recipe. Wow, that was good. I did not add carrots, nor a protein, scratch that, I did add a fried egg and bell peppers. This was so Simple and it tasted really close to what the restaurants in my area taste. Thank you!
    Edit: After many instances of this recipe, I removed the sesame oil entirely. I found it was overpowering everything. As a side effect, the sauce is easier to clean up as it no longer has oil.

    • @WallyCooksEverything
      @WallyCooksEverything  3 года назад

      Hi Vanessa, light soy sauce and regular soy sauce is the same. I understand the confusion 😄 If a bottle says “light soy sauce” it doesn’t mean low sodium. A soy sauce bottle with less sodium will actually say low sodium on the bottle.
      Just think if it this way. There’s two types of soy sauce, light and dark. Light soy sauce has a thin watery consistency and saltier than dark soy sauce. Dark soy sauce is thicker, darker and slightly sweeter.
      I hope my explanation is clear Ingrid 😆 if you have any more questions you know where to reach me 🙏🏻

    • @WallyCooksEverything
      @WallyCooksEverything  3 года назад

      Well light soy sauce or thin soy sauce can be low sodium and full sodium. Either case, your low sodium kikkoman light soy sauce is perfectly fine to use 😃 Now I’ve never used low sodium soy sauce before so I recommend tasting when finished cooking and see if you need to add more seasoning.

    I’m having trouble finding the right recipe. When looking for videos it seems like there’s authentic Chinese noodles and then American Chinese noodles I’m desperately looking for a way to make an exact replica of Panda Express, or any of the average tasting noodles you would find. I’m hoping this is the one but any advice would be awesome

      @WallyCooksEverything  10 месяцев назад +1

      If you've got a Panda Express around you then chances are you shouldn't have any problems locating Chinese lo mein noodles. I would think they add more soy sauce to their version. And most likely more oil 😆
      In any case, go ahead and try this. If doesn't taste the same as Panda Express you can always adjust the seasoning until it's right for you.
      Thanks for watching and commenting, take care 👍

      Hi 🙏 it mainly depends if you live in an area with a large Asian population or not. If there is a large supermarket near you , you can try look for Japanese yakisoba noodles.
      And if you can’t I guess you can try dried spaghetti as a last resort 🙏

      Hello Lena, of course you can. I use bok choy and cabbage interchangeably for lo mein recipes. 😀

      😄 If you can find Napa cabbage which is also called Chinese cabbage would be better cause it’s thicker than normal cabbage. Otherwise If you can’t find that than normal cabbage is okay.

    I like these types of Lo meins but does anybody know the sauce recipe where its a really light colores sauce with a garlic undertone lol?
    I live in the south and I see this alot, a almost clear sauce that has a little oil feel to it.
    Thanks if you know.
    I love to put a splash of chili oil in mine sometimes great way to get a little heat going .
    Thanks for the videos!

      The clear sauce sounds to me like the sauce we use to cover chow mein. It’s a chicken based soup thickened up. I’m pretty sure that’s what it is.
      Thanks for watching and happy cooking 🙏
