Don’t get nervous about people knowing where you live; it’s very normal there to know where everyone lives, especially if is someone that stands out. It’s not like they’re stalking you or anything, it’s just that it’s a closer community than the one you may be used to.
I automatically changed my uber account to cash and I always pay what's on the screen. Also, if you get a good driver especially that lives close to you, get their number and just call them to negotiate the price.
Well, it's what it is, this happens in every latin american country you visit, once they know, that your not a native, they take that opportunity to jack up the prices of services rendered, 3 weeks ago i commented on your last video of the cost of living, and is not there, maybe someone did not like it, and you erase it, regards from Boston MA!!

DO speak your mind. Bargaining is very acceptable in the Dominican culture, and they need to know that you are aware of the price, that way they won’t dare charge you more. Dominicans don’t mind being called out when it’s due.
