Astra h vxr forge recirc valve rebuild

- Here we have AJ‘s Astra Vxr coming to me with a few issues, a water leak and a boost leak so we performed a boost leak test and found it the recirculation valve was leaking so we got a rebuild it for it and a few other items that was needed and cured the problems hope some of this information helps

id get the adjustable blocks for the ramp arms mate, I have this issue when I put mine on a 2 post at work but you can buy them that you can twist up anddown
Yeah I have got them mate but the actual car is too low to get the arms underneath with the blocks on I just prefer the kits not to be on prior to coming it makes it a lot easier and quicker for me to do the work instead of messing about trying to get the car on the ramp

Hello Mate, thank you very much and it wasn’t a sealant it is just a red rubber grease just to hold the seals in mate
@@Vinnievxr666 ah ok mate nice one will fit one this weekend just wondered if it needed that extra sealant but if its a rubber grease just to hold them? are they likely to try move when im putting it together and fitting it?
@Adz190 yeah, they can sometimes pop out of the recess where they sit but you can use any other stuff like vaseline mate
@@Vinnievxr666 super mate cant wait to ring the turkeys neck when changing mine over if i had a pressure tester think it would be exactly the same bubbles as AJays 🤣
Talking of leaks, I had a very slight coolant leak on my VXR which turned out to be leaking intermittently from the "weep hole" in a new SKF water pump. The supplier was a bit reluctant to send me a replacement, so just sent a new sealing gasket which didnt work, I also tried sealant as well, but I did finally get a replacement which has solved the problem.However changing the pump & removing the belt 3 times was a ballache. Sadly you cant get geniune GM pumps anymore.
Oh man that’s a pain, and yeah I know what you mean about can’t get the original pumps such a ball ache mate
I have exactly that problem now… it will be my 3rd time swapping the cambelt on this engine!
1st was routine, 2nd oil leak from rocker cover messed with the idlers.
3rd now is the pump. So annoying…
@@dbonner14 definitely feel your pain my friend, hopefully (& fingers crossed) your new pump is ok.
I'd have checked for leaks after putting new seals in for reassurance 👍
Hi mate yes we did re-check it afterwards I didn’t put it in the video because it would’ve made a video too long. it would be a pretty silly thing to do without rechecking and finding out you still got a leak lol 👍🏼
