    Uncle Hippy didn't go into an explanation but he demonstrated what I needed. The connectors won't thread into the metallic watertight conduit unless you split the 1st course. Opening it up will let you get the end of the connector far enough into the conduit to get it started.
    Now.. I'm ready to upgrade to L3 EV charging.. as soon as it's not -7°F out. Hrm.. Maybe I'll wait till tomorrow before finishing 5-30R outlet install that up. :-/

    I have read that a "bonding conductor" is required for liquid tight non metallic flexible conduit, is this imperative and if so how is it done?

      I have used a bonding conductor in conditions requiring XP (explosion proof) wiring, however some companies may require it in other situations. Local codes and regulations may also require a bonding conductor you will have to check with local regulators to be sure.
