It's such a breath of fresh air and a bit of nostalgia that I'm watching a DB/Goku adventure instead of just crazy power ups etc. Don't get me wrong I love Goku's road to Ultra Instinct and the transformation itself is beautiful but I missed when it was just him exploring the world and meeting people and having fun, funny adventures with more hand-to-hand combat instead of just beam flashes 24/7.
Imagine getting an alternate SSJ4 in a temporarily boost, and why we no longer see it in SUPER is because of some specific conditions that urged him and led him to go SSJ4. THAT WOULD BE SIIICK!
My theory is you know how they said the story would tie into future dragon ball stories?, what if MANGA SPOILERS: . . . . Goku and vegeta is trying to find a way to use their new forms but with their own sayian way, so if we actually see ss4 in daima, what if they try to go back to that to combine their sayan nature with they’re transformations, maybe this could lead for goku for a form that resembles ss5 with white hair and so, but i think i am veeeery far reaching
In my opinion, SSJ4 can actually make sense in Daima, but there's a caveat. Since Super comes along later in the timeline, there has to be a reason as to why Goku can't use SSJ4 after the events of Daima. It could be related to the Demon Realm or something along those lines. It would just need to be abundantly clear to Goku and the audience that the form can only be achieved under extremely specific circumstances, which likely can't easily be replicated, meaning he can't use it again.
We don't need a new transformation for any character from the outside world cuz it'll mess with the story since it's before super but for characters who are from the demon realm, them transforming won't be much of a problem
well only Great Apes have pointy ears, they can make it so that the moon awakens the Great Ape and due to them being in the Demon Realm, they can control it or something along those lines
Or, Goku knows his power well, and if SS3 lost so easily, maybe SS4 just wouldn't stand a chance. For Goku to assume something that uses normal Ki would be useful against BEERUS OF ALL THINGS, they'll have to update SS4 to work slightly different, since in GT it uses normal Ki and isn't anything otherworldly like SSG and other uses of god Ki. So if they include SS4, in some way, it won't be as you remember it lore wise entirely.

Dragon Ball Super already retconned GT & people are still hoping to see SSJ4, just give it up man. It’s a non-canon, Toei made transformation. It was never Toriyama’s vision nor direction of the SSJ lineage.

The problem isn't introducing a new form but rather the problem is how in the hell are they gonna connect it with later events of super....that new form will become irrevalent right after daima and during B.O.G...what they can do is make them grow back their tails through which they can make ssj4 canon and later cut their tails off so that they can never transfirm back to ssj4 without growing their tails in this way the new form will still be relevant and they can also explain the events of super...i don't think there is any other way then this.

I really don't like daima. No fresh ideas so far. Looks more like dragon ball heroes. With random characters with no depth made from a character creator. And although this show is so far from the og dragon ball like super. The villains and these roboters look so off and uninspired....
